The Genius Princes Guide To Raising A Nation Out Of Debt Review

The most important aspect of the quality of this show is its main character, the titular Genius Prince, Wein Salema Arbalest. He is the life and blood of the show and a hard character to get right. His faults are too visible to be ignored at any given moment and to make the audience root for him despite all of them required a lot of effort and some careful writing. Somehow, the show was able to accomplish that and much more with his character.

Wein is proud but not vain. Hes lazy while being extraordinarily smart, and he would do anything to retain the possibility of keeping his kingdom safe for when it comes time to sell it. With the help of his trusted aide and dear friend Ninym, he unwittingly learns to care about everyone while still using unorthodox tactics to solve the realms problems. His and Ninyms dynamic is amazing and one of the best couple dynamics youll see this year. If only it didnt have Marin and Gojo to compete with in the same season.

Much like Wein, our isekai protagonist Kazuya Souma has zero interest in being King. Just like Wein, Kazuya Souma ends up in exactly that position due to the unfortunate circumstances of the previous ruler. Just like Wein, Kazuya Souma finds himself ruling a nation thats not doing too hot at the moment, what with the expenses of war and threats of invasion from surrounding nations. And unfortunately, just like Wein, Kazuya Souma finds himself too well-suited to save his declining nation, regardless of his desire to not get involved. So if you really enjoy the sheer irony of a grudging and unwilling protagonist brilliantly fixing the problems of his nation, much to his personal chagrin, give How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom a shot! Watching Kazuya, youll see shades of Wein, if Wein didnt have the selfish desire to sell off his kingdom and instead wanted to see it flourish, that is. So if you want something almost identical but with an objectively better person as the MC, this is the perfect anime for you to check out next!

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime

After a run in with a robber, the 37-year-old Satoru is suddenly killed. He is reincarnated into a fantasy land, but not as a man. In fact, he is no longer even human! He is reincarnated as a lowly slime. After wandering, he comes across a dragon who he befriends and who gives him the new name of Rimuru. Absorbing this dragon into his slime body, promising to eventually break the seal that has bound him, gives Rimuru great magical ability. He then continues to inadvertently befriend beleaguered fantasy creatures in the forest who are constantly threatened by humanity. Eventually, he decides to found a nation uniting these creatures in order to help them protect themselves.

While The Genius Princes Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt doesnt take itself seriously, That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime does. It isnt all about realm administration, but a part of the series is how the main character creates and grows their kingdom. However, when That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime does do comedy, it does it really quite similarly to Genius Prince.

Konosuba: Gods Blessing On This Wonderful World

Kazuma Satou, a high school student, and recluse die a pathetic and laughable death while returning from buying a video game. He finds himself before Aqua, a beautiful, but an annoying goddess. Kazuma chooses to live a new life and is assigned the task of defeating the Demon King, who terrorizes villages.

He has one option to help him on his quest. The future hero chooses Aqua. Kazuma made a terrible mistake. Aqua is useless! Their troubles do not end there. It turns out that life in this world is very different from what it looks like in a video game. Instead of embarking on an exciting adventure, they must first earn enough money to cover their living expenses. Their misfortunes are only the beginning!

    Why its similar:

In many ways similar humor, dont know if this recommendation could be made the other way, but If you enjoyed this and havent watched KonoSuba youre likely to enjoy this anime.

Dying from overwork, Azusa Aizawa is allowed to reincarnate into a new world as a witch that will live forever. However, this meager amount of XP stacks over 300 years of doing it, and she finds herself at max level. Fearing someone will try to thrust work upon her, she decides to try and hide her strength.

While The Genius Princes Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt is about trying to believably fail so he can do what he wants, Ive Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level is about trying to live a quiet and pleasant eternal life only to become overpowered and legendary. 300 Slimes is more of a slice of life, cute girls doing cute things comedy show, however.

    The Genius Prince

The king of Natra has fallen ill, leaving the only hope for his kingdom to his son, Prince Wein Salema Arbalest. Known to be capable and wise, he is the perfect candidate to become the prince regent. However, if the prince has anything to say about the matter, he would rather sell off the Kingdom of Natra to the highest bidder!

Since he wields the authority of the throne, no one can stop Wein from auctioning off the country and using the profits to retire in comfort. All he needs to do is raise the value of the small kingdom to maximize his gains. But whether Weins grand plan will succeed remains to be seen, as his wit often surpasses even his own expectationsmuch to the benefit of the oblivious citizens of Natra. Source- MAL Rewrite.

The plot excerpt that you read above tells you only half the story of this show, despite being interesting on its own. The selling the kingdom part doesnt really come into effect for the entirety of the shows runtime and only exists to showcase how the main character, Wein, looks at his kingdom and its citizens. In the beginning, he couldnt care less about his denizens well-being besides them being good enough to be pawned off to another kingdom to benefit his causes.

Tensai Ouji Season 2 Release Date Predictions

As of the last update, NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan, Studio Mausu, Studio Yokohama Animation Lab, or any company related to the production of the anime has not officially confirmed The Genius Princes Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt Season 2 release date. Nor has the production of a Genius Prince sequel been announced.

Once the news is officially confirmed, this article will be updated with the relevant information.

In the meantime, its possible to speculate about when, or if, the Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu Season 2 premiere date will occur in the future.

Some may argue that the Genius Prince animes first season suffered from the bad fate of being released in the same time frame as the isekai story How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom anime. While the two stories do seem at first glance to share the same premise of an intelligent ruler leading his kingdom to prosperity, the similarities are rather shallow once you dive down into watching both. In short, Genius Prince is not a discount Realist Hero knockoff.

Realist Hero is largely focused on the nitty-gritty politics and socioeconomic issues of running the kings harem a fantasy feudal kingdom whereas Genius Prince thrives on its bombastic characterization and the game of manipulation played between the nobility. The double-dealing, intrigue, and political machinations all lend to the humor rather than taking on a serious air.

How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom

Kazuya Souma, 19, a young civil servant and aspirant, dies. He is a hero transported from the Elfrieden Kingdom in an unplanned circumstance. The world is in constant war with the demon army, and Kazuya was summoned by Elfrieden to help its allies.

Kazuya is fed up with the idea of being paid tribute and decides to help the kingdom rebuild its economy through administrative reform, not adventuring or warfare. The Realist Hero Kazuya is immediately crowned King of Elfrieden, and he marries the princess. He sets out to gather a group of talented citizens to help him in his bureaucratic struggles to get the kingdom back on track.

    Why its similar:

Both stories are set in fantasy worlds with a male lead fighting with diplomacy, economic wisdom, and the art of strategy. The kingdoms administration is also a good one.
