Sanji’s origin story alongside Zeff, as revealed during the “Baratie” arc tugs on many heartstrings and is all about survival in dire situations. Nothing emphasizes this more than in chapter 58 where young Sanji, in the flashback, comes to learn how Zeff’s right leg went missing.
It turns out the old man ate his own leg! In the anime, this scene never happened. Instead, Zeff’s left was caught on some ship debris and was severed.

Difference Between The Anime And Manga Of Akame Ga Kill
I have listed out some of the differences between the anime and manga of Akame ga KILL!in this answer. Let me reproduce it here for posterity.
The story is generally the same up to episode 17/chapter 33. However, the anime begins to have minor deviations from the manga from episode 18/chapter 34. After chapter 38, which corresponds to episode 19, the anime totally skips more than 10 chapters starting from chapter 39, except for this plot point in chapter 43, where
… Susanoo died fighting Esdeath to let the rest of the Night Raid escape. Originally, this happened during the mission to assassinate Borick, which spans from chapter 40 to chapter 43. In the anime, Susanoo’s death is moved to episode 21 during the rescue for Tatsumi instead, and Borick’s assassination is trivialized at the end of episode 19.
Episode 20 restarts from second half of chapter 50, but doesn’t follow the manga too closely, since the manga introduces many new characters during the Wild Hunt arc , and several of them affect the story beyond Wild Hunt arc.
Most of the differences between manga and anime adaptation come from this 10-chapter gap.

Sanji Takes Up Smoking
Sanji’s iconic look of the suit jacket and slacks is most often punctuated by a cigarette lazily dangling from between his lips. It’s almost a signature to the character with how often he lights up during and after the various trials of the crew.
Sanji took up smoking, initially, to be more mature, as revealed in chapter 68 of the manga. This happens shortly after Zeff and Sanji start the Baratie. Naturally, this was censored in the anime.
There Were No Napkin Drawings In The Anime
First and foremost, the Hunter X Hunter anime adaptation did not have to deal with its sole contributor turning in napkin drawings. Sometime around the end of the Greed Island Arc, Mangaka Yoshihiro Togashi dropped the ball artistically.
Many readers noticed that a series of chapters from the end of the Greed Island Arc to the beginning of the Chimera Ant Arc included poor quality artwork. There are other times throughout the manga that this happened but the artwork during this period of new chapters was by far the worst in terms of quality. Luckily, the anime never had to deal with this sort of issue.

The Entire Wild Hunt Arc Is Skipped
Survival horror fans would enjoy an anime like Akame Ga Kill! because of its brutality and bloody action, but the manga is even more hardcore. Wild Hunt is a group that acted as the Empire’s Secret Police, and they commit a multitude of heinous crimes.
The group was tasked with finding and eliminating Akame’s group, and they were led by the Prime Minister’s son, Syura. The anime included Syura, but it completely ignored the Wild Hunt arc, which is a shame because the group played a major role in the story.

Should I Watch The Anime First Or Go Straight Into The Manga
Well this all depends and is completely subjective.
Some people enjoy reading first and others enjoy watching first. So ask yourself Do I like my entertainment absorbed through reading or watching?
The conclusion you come to will be your best bet.
HOWEVER
We can all agree that most of the time the manga ends up being better than the anime. So it makes sense to watch the anime first and then read the manga.
Because if you read the comic first, you might not enjoy the animation. On the other hand, if you watch the animation first and then move on to the comic-book, your feeling of being entertained only increases.

Yeah, I always watch the adaptation before I read the manga. Ill do the same with movies and books. If I read the source material first it can often taint my view of the adaptation.
Now, does it make sense?
Theres another point I need to mention.
It can take many years to produce an animation and pump out the full story. So, you might want to read the comic book as well as wait for episodes to be released.
Big chunks of content we see in a Japanese comic book can be completely skipped over by its adaption. Like with Berserk, it missed a lot of the Fairy Arc. So keep this in mind.
Typically, anime episodes will last 24 minutes. comic books, on the other hand, depends on your reading and speed and how much time you take to look at manga artwork.
Bon Kurei’s Okama Kempo
Mr. Number 2, Bon Kurei is a fan favorite One Piece character. The flamboyant pirate becomes a steadfast and loyal ally to Monkey D. Luffy, even after originating as a villain. Censorship between the anime and the manga, however, played out with Bon Kurei. In the manga, Bon Kurei’s kempo is explicitly referred to as “Okama Kempo.” The Okama, in One Piece, is a group of men who have adopted feminine characteristics.
Problematic, however, is that Okama, in Japanese, is a sort of shorthand slur for “homosexual” or “transvestite.” The anime, however, goes around this whole issue by referring to Bon Kurei’s martial arts as “ballerina style.”

Both animes did a better job of cleaning up the overall holes in the manga including improving the artwork in the backgrounds, as that is something Togashi struggled with the most within his artwork. They also cleaned up many of the conversations and timing moments in the story, making them flow better so they felt less stilted with their pacing.
It was very easy to disregard these awkward instances in the manga since the reader went from page to page quickly, but anime is different considering their short timeframe for every episode. Both adaptations put in the extra work to make all the jokes and solemn moments land with the impact they need.

Bellamy Makes A Point
The life of piracy often involves the usage of knives and swords. This is not surprising in the manga. Take, for example, chapter 222 of the One Piece manga. Bellamy, engaged in a game of cards with Roshio, accuses him of cheating.
In the anime, this moment is punctuated by Bellamy simply grabbing the arm of Roshio. In the manga, however, Bellamy stabs Roshio in the hand!

Lubbock’s Death Is Different
Lubbock was a fan-favorite character who possessed an Imperial arm that allowed him to manipulate wire for offensive and defensive purposes. He dies in both the anime and manga, but the deaths are very different.

In the anime, Lubbock kills Syura, but this causes Syura’s Imperial Arm to deactivate. The deactivation causes Lubbock to fall through the air, and he dies after being impaled by multiple spears. In the manga, Lubbock kills Syura and attempts to use his Imperial Arm, but another Wild Hunt member named Kousetsu appears and cuts him in half.
Killua Had A More Diverse Wardrobe In The Anime Adaptation
Another difference from the manga is the variety of outfits Killua wears. Considering that it was just so rare to see a character not stuck in the same outfit for eternity in anime, it was odd to see Killua in more than one outfit.
Killua’s outfits changed from arc to arc in both the 1999 and the 2011 adaptations, and each time it was different. It’s apparent that Togashi loved Killua as a character and has fun drawing him in different outfits. When adapting Hunter X Hunter for the anime adaptation staff tried to do something similar with his outfits. This added to the show as a whole, and also to Killua’s character development.

Luffy Stabs Himself In The Face
Monkey D. Luffy is not the smartest pirate around, but fans still love him for that.
A particularly shining example of Luffy trying to prove a point in the dumbest way imaginable happens in the very first chapter of One Piece, during the introductory “Romance Dawn” arc. Luffy wants to show that he is brave enough to be a pirate, so naturally, he opts to grab a knife and carve into his own face, giving himself his distinctive crescent scar below his left eye. The anime does not show this at all.

What Is The Difference Between Doujinshi And Manga
Doujinshi seem to represent usually works of amateurs, but that is a subjective measure. What is the objective difference between both works?
Doujinshi is closer to what we think of as “indie/self-published” comics compared to manga. Professionals can produce doujinshi as well as amateurs, and many mangaka will produce doujinshi on the side when they’re otherwise unable to produce a certain work for legal reasons.
Doujinshi are often, but not limited to:
- Fanart of pre-existing intellectual properties
- Ecchi material
- One-shots
The quality of any given doujinshi can vary as a result, since literally anyone can produce a doujinshi without any sort of editorial oversight.
Well, if it’s self published, it is called doujinshi. If it’s by a manga publisher, it’s manga. Note that this distinction makes no mention of relative quality…simply who is doing the publishing the work.
Wikipedia highlights this in the first paragraph:
Djinshi is the Japanese term for self-published works, usually magazines, manga or novels. Djinshi are often the work of amateurs, though some professional artists participate as a way to publish material outside the regular industry.
Note, professional artists can produce doujinshi if they’re self-publishing that particular product.
