We have a PLACE FURTHER THAN UNIVERS, moving on to the Number 6th Anime in Short Anime Series. This one was recommended by one of my friends. I called him LEGEND, and it was pretty good, although if Im being completely honest and I thought that it was going to be one of those generic slices of life anime with an all-female cast that tries to be funny and, its not. Once I tried watching it, though, I found that this anime was great. If you like adventure, youll love this show.

Anime has long been considered a bit of a niche fandom. Like many aspects of pop culture that are not “traditional” to Western audiences, it has been met with skepticism and derision over its history. You can see the same pattern throughout the years with everything from fantasy novels to Dungeons and Dragons and LARP, to even something as ubiquitous as using a computer. Things considered the domain of “nerds” are often misunderstood until they become so widespread everyone finally sees what all the fuss was about. Or they at least accept it exists.
Because not everyone is into anime or they’ve only had experience with a few types of anime that maybe they didn’t enjoy, there’s a lot of misinformation out there. Imagine if you’d never seen American films before and your first experience was Tommy Wiseau’s The Room. You might never give film another chance and be convinced everything else was surely just like that.
You can’t really know a thing if you’ve never experienced it and, for better or worse, humans are quick to rush to judgment on things based on one or two bad experiences. So with that in mind, here are a few things people tend to get wrong about anime.
How Friendship Is Portrayed
Friendship in anime is shown in ways no other entertainment can pull off. Because its purposely made to be so emotional, and every feeling is captured flawlessly.
Can the friendship trope be over exaggerated sometimes? Yep, but thats kind of the point.

As mentioned before that anime is semi-realistic, they also harbor situations and problems that occur in real life. Take an example from Free!, a sports focused anime that also teaches the valuable lessons of friendship. It also teaches the audience that achieving your dreams requires hard work and determination.
The characters may be designed to look perfect, but most of them face the hardships of life just as we do. The creators took advantage of anime as a medium to not only entertain, but project morals that are useful and helpful to people in the actual world.
No Not All Japanese People Like Anime
So, yes, anime is popular in Japan.
However, it wouldn’t be so surprising if we were to find out that Japanese people often ask, why is Disney so popular in America?
These would be good questions. Yet, we know, living here, that, really, not everyone likes or even watches Disney Shows.
In the same way, of course, a lot of Japanese people don’t care at all about anime. Just as plenty of Americans don’t like Hollywood, or plenty of Colombians don’t dance

Why Dont We Just Qualify It
Most Western fans tend to be rigid with the definition of anime. They claim the term can only be used to define non-Japanese animation when qualified. This is why youll hear people describe the web series RWBY as an American anime. Or youll notice fans dub Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra as anime-inspired TV shows. You can acknowledge the nod to anime, but you cant outright call it anime.
An analogy fans often bring up is food. Sure, Taco Bell serves a pizza on its menu , but they qualify it as a Mexican Pizza due to its taco-inspired ingredients . Were you to present this Mexican Pizza in a contest in Naples, where pizza is believed to have been born, youll be laughed out of Italy.
Some fans claim that as pizza is the product of Italian culture , anime is a product of Japanese culture. Animation created outside of Japan can be inspired by anime, but it cant actually be anime because it simply lacks that Japanese je ne sais quoi.
They Learn New Things Often
While there are Chinese and Korean anime-like shows, a typical anime is Japanese. Anime fans come from all corners of the globe, so for anyone not Japanese, anime can actually be rather educational.
You learn a little bit about Japanese culture regardless of what anime you are watching, and if you watch the subbed versions of anime , you can also learn phrases and single words in Japanese.

Reasons Why Anime Became Popular
Anime is taking over the cartoon world globally. It is common to find cartoon lovers seeking out Anime programs instead of the regular animation programs on TV or online. Anime is often used to refer to animations that originate from Japan and have a distinct look to them. Most of these Japanese cartoons are hand-drawn then converted to computer animations, making them unique and attractive to non-natives. Animeâs a topic thatâs between âweirdâ and âchildishâ to people that are not part of this community. But anime could be interesting to people who know nothing about it.
People tend to say two main things about anime: âAnime is weirdâ and âAnime is childish and for kids.â I understand why people would say that, because the drawing style is different for some people â from flashy bodies to strange scenes with strange characters â and even though scenes are presented in different ways and maybe abstract ways, the concept of emotions and how people feel sometimes can be weird to explain, and even why characters act certain ways.
Thereâs a character named Doflamingo in an anime named âOne Piece â at first this character is shown as someone that acts in a malicious, evil way because he just feels like it. Later on in the anime itâs explained in his backstory that he endured hardships from a young age, such as the breakdown of his family from the death of his mom and dad. After those and many bad things that happened throughout his life, he struggled with psychosis, to the point of killing his brother.
These types of lessons are very valuable in our lives, as we determine what we love or we want to accomplish.

Anime has been in existence for many years in Japan and only took the global stage in the early 2000s. The majority of the fans of the Japanese based cartoons are in the United States and the United Kingdom, among others, with many watching the animations daily. Moving on to the Number 5th Anime in Short Anime Series, we have ANOHANA: THE FLOWER WE SAW THAT DAY. Okay, remember the tissue box, well try to hang on to it because Anohana is popular for making the viewers cry at the end of each episode. Anohana takes a close look at the delicate topic of friendship life and how to come to terms with it.
It features a group of childhood friends who lost one of their friends Menma at a young age. The group grows up into teenagers. They start to drift apart further, now back as a ghost, Menma finds that she is unable to move on until she helps her friends come to terms with her death and to get them back together as a group we know that by the end Menma disappears having accomplished her mission. However, its still heartbreaking to see it happen and to see how each of her friends slowly come to terms with her death.
How Did Anime Start: Television
In the olden days, you needed to go to a theater to watch anime or needed a filthy rich friend who owned a projector. Television was the game-changer. Mogura no Aventure , a 9-minute program, showed on television first. This came out in 1958.
Two years later in 1960, Mittsu no Hanashi which included three ten minute segments aired by NHK and became a huge success. It arrived on American Television the next year.

Why Is Incest Such A Common Topic In Anime
Koi Kaze to name a few. Which got me to wonder about why incest is such a prevalent subject in anime and manga. Is this because incest was common practice in Japan’s history or is it just trope similar to the beach trip to add another dimension to the story? And if incest was practiced what is its history in Japan and how accepted is the practice today in Japanese society?
Since Japanese media is so much more open about incest than the Western world, I think it’s crossed all of our minds at one point or another: why does this topic come up so much? Does it have something to do with Japan’s history or culture that we just don’t get as Westerners?
The truth is, historically Japan has not had any real problem with incest — in fact, clans would traditionally encourage relationships among cousins to perpetuate family dynasties. If a father was widowed, he would often marry his daughter. Practices like this continued well into the 20th century, especially in very traditional rural families. Indeed, incestuous relationships were so common in olden days — between siblings, cousins, aunts/nephews, uncles/nieces and the like, that genetics experts say this has introduced all sorts of problems into Japan’s DNA.

How did anime get so popular? The very first reason is its difference. Unlike any Western or American cartoons like Family guys or Marvel Avengers, anime builds up an incredible world that has psychological depth and the visuals to match. It is unique by the breadth of material, the ways stories are told and even the cultural nuances exhibited by the characters.
Americans had never seen anything like this before things that far from real life. It was pushing boundaries in a way US comics at the time were not. That was what professor Susan Napier said about Japanese cartoons in an interview. Giant robots, giggling magic users, and post-apocalyptic chaos are what people dont see much coming from Hollywood. Above all, anime reminds us of ourselves and gives people an escape from reality.

Anime comes in two formats: Dubbed and subbed. Subbed plays the original Japanese vocal track for the show or movie youre watching with English subtitles. Dubbed, on the other hand, features an English-speaking cast of voice-over actors working from a translated script. There are advantages to both formats.
Subtitled anime, when done right, gives you the most accurate version of the original version, down to the vocal inflection of the Japanese-speaking actors. Dubbed titles offer more of a mixed bag, especially with other series and films. American dubs in the 80s and 90s were often laughably wrong, due to cheap production budgets. But in Japan, home to a thriving manga industry, including the pornographic kind, calls to outlaw these cartoons have been met with fierce resistance.
Make no mistakeSugiyama is no fan of the comics. He said he did not watch them, but would defend what he called the rights of those who did. He went so far as to compare people who like such manga with suppressed minority groups such as LGBTQ people in Japan, and blamed the rise of feminism in the country for the growing pressure to ban the content.

What is anime?
Anime is a style of Japanese hand drawn and computer animated cartoon which has a specific style – such as that used in Pokemon and Dragonball Z.
The term only refers to cartoons from Japan and any similar animation which is created in other countries is known as anime-influenced animation.
Japanese comics , light novels, or video games depict different forms of anime, with different audiences and fans across the titles and genre.
Compared to Western animation, anime production generally focuses less on movement, and more on the detail of settings and use of “camera effects” – such as panning, zooming, and angle shots.
One of the most notable aspects of anime is the large facial features and expressions, particularly large and emotive eyes.
The anime industry consists of over 430 production companies, including major studios like Studio Ghibli, Sunrise, and Toei Animation.
While the first commercialised Japanese cartoons emerged in 1917, the style now associated with anime was first produced by cartoonists such as Osamu Tezuka in the 1960s.
