How To Draw A Manga Male Head
In the video, Sophie Chan explains the subtle differences between male and female faces, so this tutorial is especially nice if you want to learn those differences.
The video presents a bit different approach to drawing the head, as Sophie starts from the chin, after the drawing the usual circle. Many starts by drawing the horizontal and vertical lines, but not Sophie, in this video, which makes the process a bit more interesting.
So in a sense, this video shows you how to draw the head before drawing elements like eyes, nose, mouth, etc. In the end, you have a clear head and face structure to draw on further.
Anime Arm Proportions & Step By Step Drawing
Before you draw arms it’s a good idea to first analyze their basic proportions.
Though these can vary slightly from person to person generally you can use the above example.
The the distance from below the shoulder down to the elbow and from the elbow down to the wrist is generally the same .
When drawing just about anything start with a light sketch and go over it with darker lines after you are sure you have the correct proportions.
Though it can get a little tricky it’s also important to try and maintain these proportions when drawing arms in different positions.

What To Be Aware Of When Drawing Anime And Manga Feet In Different Positions
When drawing feet there are two major parts to consider, the foot itself and the toes. While the toes can move individually, during most normal movement of the foot they usually stay together.
Although we are focusing on feet in this tutorial its also very important to be aware of positions of the legs in relation to the feet. Its easy to lose track of the position of the legs and the rest of the body if you are drawing only the feet but you should keep those in mind. Being aware of everything can help prevent you from making mistakes. If we again use the example of someone standing up on their toes the position of the leg in relation to the foot will not change the more the person stands up on their toes. The legs will remain upright.

For the loners normal look draw the eyebrows with their ends slightly raised. Draw the top eyelids slightly lowered and draw the bottom eyelids with wider curves. Make the irises fairly small. Underneath the eyes add a few curved lines to show bags under the eyes .

Drawing is complicated but its only the first step in learning.

Anime Girl Sitting Pose
Start with three lines. One at the top and two others in a V turned on its side shape.
Now, youre going to draw all the sketches of each part of the body.
Starting at the head: once again, make a circle with a triangle at the bottomthe circle for the top of the head and the triangle for the base.
For the torso: make a rectangle, followed by sausages for the arms. The shapes of the hands will depend on your desired shape. Remember that not every part of the arms will be shown, although I advise you to draw the full sausages and not cut parts of them out of the sketch.
Make a circle for the hips, and sausages for legs, followed by shapes for the feet. In this position, the legs are really close to the top of the circle.
Also, mark the main joints again to help you with movement and anatomy: shoulders, elbows, and knees.
Your sketch is finished. Now for the Lineart, try to follow all the main lines and think about fluidity when drawing. Try to make separated lines instead of continuous ones. Pay attention to the curves and straight points.
After youve finished, erase your sketch. Add details such as bone structures and shadows for better results.

How To Draw Anime Arms In Different Twists
When looking at the arm from the same view but with different twists of the wrist it will appear narrower or wider in different places.
Using an outstretched arm with the palm facing directly towards the viewer as a basis you can see the slight variations below as the arm twists.
When drawing the arm with the palm up draw the entire portions of the arm past the elbow narrower.
When drawing the arm with the palm facing down draw the wrist “thinner” as the viewer will be looking at it from the side.
Drawing the arm with the palm facing away form the viewer the “below elbow” area should be narrower but draw the wrist will the same as the base example.

Good visuals start with character design. You dont have to worry about hand-drawing multiple times when sketching basic shapes.
Think about drawing simple polygons. When youre drawing an illustration, you dont need to draw a square. However, you have to decide which direction of each part of your body is. And once you have this, youll be fine
1. Face-to-face image 2. View from above. In terms of orientation, the top view is used in depressed character scenes. Drawing the character from the back adds to the sadness of the scene.
3. View from above 4. Picture from below. This view is used to emphasize the size and strength of the characters, and to show joy and appeal.

Identifying your figures action lines is the first step in learning how to draw action poses.

The action line for this figure will just be a straight vertical line. But, if someone is bending, twisting, or gesturing, those action lines will be similarly curved and rotated.
