KonoSuba must have been an inspiration for this anime since they literally start with the same sceneâthe protagonist is greeted with a mean goddess who mocks him before he is dropped into a fantasy world. Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Season 2

Makoto Destroys an Entire Demon Army | TSUKIMICHI -Moonlit Fantasy-

Most heroes of isekai anime find themselves transported to a fantasy world with some sort of blessing from the gods. When it comes to the protagonist of the anime “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy,” however, the opposite could not be more true. The fact that the show’s main character is actually despised by a god makes him unique among isekai protagonists, even as his story of traveling to another world falls into many tropes of the isekai genre of anime.

Nevertheless, this 2021 anime proved popular enough that its creators have greenlit a second season. Based on the light novel and manga series of the same name by Kei Azumi , the series is a self-described “social reform fantasy.” The unique concept of “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” has been enough to capture the attention of at least some anime fans. As such, the series warrants some consideration as it nears the release of its second season. With that in mind, here is what we know so far about the release date, characters, and plot of “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” Season 2.

Plot And Season 2 Predictions

The show revolves around Makoto Misumi, an ordinary high school student who is living a normal life until he is called to the other world to be a hero. Makoto, when he enters the other magical world, does not seem to be capable of doing anything worthwhile, let alone become a hero. So, the goddess of the magical world insults him, strips him of his powers, and casts Makoto at the far edge of the magical world in the wilderness. There, Makoto comes across dragons, dwarves, elves, spiders, orcs, and several non-human species.

It is to be seen how Makoto fights off the obstacles he encounters and how the ordinary high school student survives in such an environment. With time, Makoto realizes that there is just as much divide in this magical new world as there is in his own world, maybe even more. However, the species are capable of coming together. Despite the humans and gods turning against Makoto, he tries to transform the magical world into a better place.

Makoto Misumi

The second season is expected to show much more about the dark intentions of Patrick Rembrandts trading company. Meanwhile, Makoto, Mio, and Tomoe arrive at the Rotsguard Academy to take the student entrance exam, but it seems Makoto wrongly takes the teacher employment exam. Makotos aim is to spread the knowledge he has from Earth to the magical world. There is also the school festival and a fighting competition in addition to the characters life at the school.

Moonlit Fantasy Season 2 Release Date

Moonlit Fantasy will probably release its second season by late 2022 or early 2023. This is based on the assumption that the development of the anime will take about eight to nine months at the least. The producers have only confirmed the renewal of the season, and they havent even declared a tentative schedule for the release of the second season. However, there is no scarcity of source material and can mean that the next season could arrive in the summer of 2022.

Mio and Makoto Misumi from Moonlit Fantasy

The first season of Moonlit Fantasy received positive reviews, but it is nothing extraordinary. While there is really nothing to complain about the anime, it has got its share of criticism. The basic premise is somewhat similar to the anime That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime. The good part is that the characters are relatable and quite funny. The anime has its own unique turnabouts and manages to keep itself from being average. The aspect that the audience loved most about the anime was its light-hearted premise.

What Is The Plot Of Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Season 2

Makoto Breaks the Seal | TSUKIMICHI -Moonlit Fantasy-

In the finale of “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” Season 1, Makoto encounters and defeats Sofia Bulga , a powerful adventurer, and Mitsurugi , a dragon. The two, for some reason, have elected to join the demon army’s quest to destroy humanity. However, Makoto prevents this, possibly playing directly into the hands of the unkind goddess who first summons him. It’s unclear exactly what her plans are, but given that she is beginning to view Makoto as a rival for his increased power, it likely does not bode well for our hero.

Nevertheless, Makoto continues doing what he does best, growing the community of villagers, traders, and adventurers that he has helped build within Tomoe’s personal dimension. At the same time, he wants to connect more with the humans of this world, something which the goddess has done her utmost to prevent. Whether or not Makoto achieves any of these goals will be revealed when “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” Season 2 is released.
