Draw The Collar Bones
In anime the collar bones are sometimes not shown at all but are more likely to be shown in close up scenes.

Drawing facial features, especially the mouth is difficult. My advice is to draw many from good reference. Draw many, then take a pause and try to analyze various repeating elements from one drawing to another, similar to how we analyzed elements of each drawing in this tutorial.
After you complete a round of reflecting on what you have drawn already, get back to drawing more samples from reference with new found knowledge.
Repeating this practice will vastly improve your drawings of anime lips and mouths over time. It will also help significantly if you continue the practice of drawing daily. Something like drawing anime mouths and lips is best learned by producing a large volume of drawing. Make hundreds of drawings and you will see improvement.

Draw The Character’s Eye
The younger the character, the bigger the eyes. In this case, the character is a young man so his eyes will be smaller than a boy’s.
Based on the horizontal baseline, split the first part drawn above and draw the eye under this line, the distance between the eyes depends on your estimation, depending on the style and character type.
Note, the eye is in this position when the character is in a normal state, if the opening is larger , the eye will override the base line, if the eye is in a closed state then it will lie under.
Draw eyebrows above the eyes. The eyebrows of male anime characters and manga are often drawn thicker than that of females, especially with older characters. However it also depends on style.
In this step, you only need to outline the eye shape, giving simple strokes. Go through every detail, then follow the steps below.

Drawing An Embarrassed Male Side View Face
For an embarrassed look draw the eyebrow in reverse of its normal curve with its forward tip raised. Draw the eye open wider than normal and looking down.
Finally draw the mouth with a smile that shows the teeth but unlike the other examples so far dont show a hint of a sharp tooth.
You can see how the facial features shift in an embarrassed expression as compared to a normal one in the example above.
Drawing An Angry Male Side View Face
For an angry face draw the eyebrow significantly lower than normal . Draw the eye squinted with the bottom eyelid in reverse of its normal curve.
Draw the mouth similar to the open mouth example but without drawing the jaw lower down. Instead the lips should simply be pulled back revealing the teeth. You can also draw a slight hint of a sharp booth to emphasize the aggression.
You can see in the above example how the facial features tend to shift in an angry expression. Generally the more extreme the emotion the more movement of the facial features.

Drawing A Grinning Delinquent/thug Male Anime Character
A grin is one expression that the delinquent/thug is likely to make when they spot someone they want to pick on.
For grinning expression for the delinquent character draw the eyebrows with their inner ends lowered, draw the eyes slightly squinted but still leave some space between the bottom eyelids and the irises.
Draw the mouth smiling but with a hint of the teeth .
Drawing Content Anime Eyes Side View
For content anime eyes from the side view draw them completely closed. Unlike the closed eyes in their relaxed state though you will have the bottom eyelids slightly raised. The slightly raised bottom eyelids will also cause the eyelashes to be angled slightly upwards so draw accordingly. Draw the eyebrows raised as well.

The wealthy guy characters tend to be rich and successful. They can often look down on those around them of lower status.
For the wealthy guys normal face draw the eyebrows slightly lower down. Draw the eyes with the inner ends of the top eyelids slightly lowered and draw the irises a little bit smaller than normal.
Draw the mouth with a hint of a smile but instead of drawing the smile with one curve draw it as a set of to curves .
These features combined will give this character a confident and slightly sly look.
Start With A Simple Shirt
Anime clothes drawing will vary depending on how youd like your character to be dressed. For beginners, a simple shirt design is the easiest starting point.;
Around the neck of your character, draw sloping lines downwards and around the neck, leaving a small gap in the middle, to create an open-collar shirt.;
Start with the shirt collar before working on the sleeves or details.
Along the arms, add a light line in the middle where the elbow crease would be, with two slightly curved lines around the wrists for the ends of the sleeves. From here, you can draw a line straight down from the open collar to the waist, leaving an upside down V shape at the bottom. Draw two lines from either side of the hips in to meet the bottom of the V shape to form the ends of the shirt. A few dots up the centerline will give you the buttons.
Buttons and crease lines help to make your clothing appear more realistic.

Drawing A Frowning Male Side View Face
For a frowning face draw the eyes eyebrow lowered . Make the eye slightly squinted with the bottom eyelid in reverse of its normal curve.
Draw the mouth in an upside down curve as well with the bottom lips very slightly raised.

Drawing Anime Mouth And Lips Lips Closed
Drawing a closed mouth in anime and manga is all about suggestive lines. Instead of creating details for the outline of the mouth, or creating a sharp division between the lips, were going to create suggestive lines indicative of the anatomy of the lips, and let the viewer infer the shape from the suggestions we make.;
This distinction is so important, that we should go over it again:
Instead of drawing all the details comprising the mouth and lips, we will communicate only the very basic information through suggestive lines, and let the viewer infer the rest of the expression.
Although it appears that perhaps this is easier to do than to draw a mouth in a very detailed way, actually it is not easy. It isnt easy because you have to convince the viewer with a very limited ability to communicate just a few marks on the page.
This in turn means that precision and subtlety in where these marks are placed are extremely important to drawing anime lips. In fact, it is clear that all mangaka are capable of drawing realistic lips with precise detail, as it appears to be a prerequisite for proper placement of suggestive lines in the stylized and simplified version.
So how do we learn exactly where to place marks to create a convincing drawing of anime lips? My answer remains the same as it was at the beginning of this tutorial brute force.
Notice in the above example, the break in the line, indicating the soft surface of the lips as the upper lip overlaps the lower.
How To Draw Anime Body
For beginners, we will stick to the basics first. This means drawing from the neck to the chest area, so you can learn how to draw anime portraits. If you are looking to recreate full drawings, you must first study different anime poses and the anatomy of the character youre referencing. It requires advanced techniques, however.
Much like learning how to draw anime hands, details can make or break any drawing. Aside from getting the balance right, do pay more attention to the shadows, the curves, and creases that your favorite anime character has when it comes to their body.

Drawing A Disgusted Wealthy Guy Anime Male Character
The disgusted look is one the wealthy character archetype tends to make when they look at someone or something they consider beneath them.
For a disgusted look draw the wealthy guys face with the eyebrows in reverse of their normal curves. Make the inner ends of the eyebrows raised and draw them just slightly closer together. Make the eyes themselves slightly squinted.
Draw the mouth like an upside down smile, narrower at the top and wider at the bottom with the teeth showing. Flip the bottom lip upside down as well.
How To Draw Anime Hair
Whether youre drawing female or male anime hair, there are basic techniques you can use to make it cleaner and lend it some degree of realism. Note that when making anime drawings, this also tends to take the most time, so practice is key here.
- Start by making an outline of the characters head. A rough sketch will do!
- Once you have that, draw the characters hairline. Even if itll be hidden by a fringe, knowing where their hairline is will allow you to properly balance their hairstyle.
- Next, start sketching out the hairstyle youve chosen. For beginners, we suggest choosing an anime character with a simple style and avoid taking on complicated ones until you have mastered the basic shapes.
- One important thing to avoid is making your horizontal line or vertical line too short and too straight. This is because you will end up creating chunky hair strands that arent realistic or appealing.
- Like other anime drawings, light and shadow are key to adding texture to your piece. The same goes when youre learning how to draw hair. Depending on where your light source is, it should create a reflection on the surface of their hair.
