Pencil Drawing Of An Anime Girl With Long Hair
The second drawing of an anime girl is a long hair girl tutorial, of course. We drew a girl with curly long hair because it can be challenging to draw this hair. While drawing straight hair pose no problem, curly hair can be hard to achieved in a drawing. Pay attention to the shadows of the face, to the distance between the eyes, nose and mouth and their space from the faces limits. Take a look at the following drawing to understand these principles:
Draw The Overall Shape Of The Female Body
One of the most important thing to keep in mind when drawing the full figure is the proportions or the relation of one body part to another. Everything has to be the right size or your character will look odd.
Certain styles may deliberately exaggerate certain proportions there are still rules to follow when drawing.
For the front view of the girl you should start by drawing a vertical line. This will help you make both sides of the figure more even. If you are drawing two views at once you can add the horizontal lines to make sure that the different body parts match up in both views.
Drawing both views at once is a good exercise. If you are good at drawing one particular body part in one view but not so much in another this can help you.

How To Draw Anime Easy Eyes
Draw a sharp edge to start the eye. Start drawing the lower part of the eye. Draw the iris. Add a small circle in the top corner to create a reflection of the light. Drawing Anime Girl Hair Step
Although I do not clearly draw the line of the head like in this example every time, I do identify it in my mind when I draw. So here, in these examples, I identified the line in purple for you.
In this front view, the eye line will always be around the center of the vertical line between the chin and the to top the head. So if you measure, the space between the chin and the eyes, is roughly the same as between the eyes and the top of the head.
Here is the under-drawing sketch for this example. I used procreate and an iPad pro to draw the face on a separate layer. The face is used in all examples here since hair is the focus. For the hair, you can see that I am more focused on the overall shape of the hair and less worried about what the lines look like at this stage.
These lines are just a guide for the final line art in the next step.
In this step I drew over the underdrawing with more precision. It could use more refinement and some shading still but much of the indecisiveness of the sketchy lines of the underdrawing is now left in the past.

If you want to draw your favorite anime character or even one of your own, designing the body can seem like a challenge. Anime characters can vary in shape and size, but start by drawing them with human proportions before modifying them into your own design. While proportions are similar between male and female characters, their body shapes vary slightly. With a bit of time and practice, youll be able to draw any sort of anime character!
Add Shading & Finish The Panda Girl Drawing
You may notice that in the previous examples the drawing looks a bit flat and the eyes seem to have a bit of a stare to them. To fix this you can give the drawing a bit of shading.
Generally shadows form based on how the subject is illuminated. In this case the character will have fairly generic shading as though she is in a well lit room or outdoors during the day with the main light source somewhere above her.
To get rid of the staring look start by shading the upper part of the irises. Afterwards place some lighter shadows as follows:
- On the very top of the visible hair
- Around the eyelids
- Top of the white of the eyes
- Around the middle clump and side clumps of the hair
- To one side of the nose
- Below the mouth
- The back section of the hair
- The back of hood
- On the entire neck
- Below the hood

Keep in mind that overall this is a fairly stylized character and the goal is NOT to create the absolute most accurate shading but instead to just have it accurate enough to looks believable.

Draw The Hoodie Details
At the top of the hoodie draw the panda face as shown in the example. It can be fairly simple with just the outlines of the black areas that panda have around the eyes the mouth and the nose.
You can also add a button onto the placket and outline a tiny highlight area inside it.
Once done with this stage of the drawing you can trace over your lines to darken them. However dont darken the outlines of the highlights on the eyes/button. You want to keep these lines light so that they blend into the color.

A more playful drawing is an anime girl face with pigtails. This tutorial is also focusing on the flow of the hair when the wind is blowing. Drawing A Shy Anime Character
These types of characters are usually nice and harmless but may be loners due to being afraid to talk to others.
A good hairstyle for this type of character can be the hair over one eye to reinforce the idea of hiding and shyness. But in case you want to draw a different hairstyle both eyes are show in the example below.
You can pretty much draw this character the same way as the ordinary girl but with slightly smaller irises/pupils to give her a bit more of a scared look.
Drawing An Angry Tough Anime Character
The though girl anime characters tend to be fairly emotional and can get angry easily.
For the angry face draw the eyes a lot more squinted than normal and the eyebrows even lower down.
Draw the mouth open and fairly wide with the bottom being slightly wider than the top.

Draw The Center Guide Line & The Top Of The Head
Star by drawing a vertical line through the middle of your drawing area. In this case it will be tall enough to accommodate the height of the head, neck, and the top part of the shoulders.
The purpose of this line is to act as a guide that helps make sure that both halves of the head/neck/shoulders are of relatively even width. Later it can also help with spacing and positioning the facial features.
At the top of this line draw a circle that will represent the top of the head.
Drawing A Delinquent Anime Character
This type of character can often be a bully/hostile and pick fights. A good hairstyle for the delinquent can be short and maybe slightly messy hair. It will help create a sort of tomboy image for the character.
