Anime Series That Look Happy But Are Actually Depressing
Danganronpa is a special kind of beast. The special thing about this series if you just jump right into the anime is that, at a certain point, you realize that you need to play the games in order to properly understand what is going on.
That was the mistake I made. I watched the anime before playing through the games, and it all makes so much more sense after going and playing at least second game.
For this very special watch order article, the watch order is not only going to include the anime, but the games as well.
The Anniversary Edition Of Danganronpa V3 Is Experiencing Delays
Although there are already mobile versions of Danganronpa 1 and 2 for their anniversary editions, Danganronpa v3: Killing Harmony‘s Anniversary Edition has been delayed until further notice. The game was supposed to release on its new mobile platform on May 26th. However, on May 24th, the Spike Chunsoft official Twitter account posted an apology to its Danganronpa fans.
Apparently, there was an issue found within the mobile rendering of Killing Harmony, meaning they’d have to push back the release date to a later time. Since then, there have been no updates about when Killing Harmony will be ready for its new mobile release. Players probably won’t hear anything about a hypothetical fourth installment from the company until after the anniversary edition of the third installment has been fixed.

Monokuma Is Created By Junko Enoshima And Monaca Towa
Monokuma is a robotic bear that’s become the headmaster of Hope’s Peak Academy and is the mascot of the Danganronpa series. The foreboding bear’s duality represents both the hope and despair that surrounds the school. Monokuma is created by two students, Junko Enoshima as well as Monaca Towa, a fellow classmate who deeply admires Junko. The two use this army of robotic Monokuma to facilitate the murder games that define Danganronpa and make sure that this vengeance comes to pass. Junko and Monaca are just as twisted and unrepentant as Monokuma, but they use the bear as their cover.
What’s Next For Danganronpa
Recently, creator Kazutaka Kodaka has reportedly been more open to creating another Danganronpa game, more than he has since the release of Danganronpa V3. With the ports to mobile platforms, its clear that the series’ cult following hasn’t died down in the decade since the original’s release.
Although there has been no hard evidence, fans on social media have pointed to job postings as evidence another game could come in the next few years. On April 9th, 2020, Spike Chunsoft announced to Famitsu that it would be releasing a lot of new information on “games, goods, tie-ins, monthly commemorative programs, etc.” While the mobile announcement came early last year, many of these promises didn’t come to light. It’s very likely players will continue to hear information on the legacy and future of Danganronpa moving;into 2021.
It should be stated that this is all speculation, of course. There is a portion of the fanbase who think that Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony placed a firm cap on the end of the original trilogy. That part of the base has been clear that another entry would only complicate how Kodaka had foreseen the series ending. That doesn’t mean fans; would turn their nose up at a spin-off, like a sequel to Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. However, with the Danganronpa series publishing being handled by Spike Chunsoft, one has to wonder how that will affect development of a new game or anime.
A new Danganronpa game has not been officially announced.

Danganronpa 3: 10 Things Fans Missed In The Series
Danganronpa v3 is the next installment in the popular series, and there are a few things even the most observant fans might have missed.
Danganronpa 3 was the anime season conclusion to tie off the game series. In the conclusion, the last of the Remnants of Despair are defeated, a new principle is picked for Hopes Peak Academy, and we get to meet other students and staff of the academy.
Unlike the rest of the series, Danganronpa 3 did not have any trials because it was never meant to be a game. Instead, the characters are in a final fight for their lives as a Remnant of Despair seeks to complete Junk Enoshima’s dream. By the end, the characters from the first and second game meet and conclude the epic story of Danganronpa. Of course, that is until Danganronpa V3. So here is a list of some details you might have missed from the season and it’s two arcs.
Theme And Ending Songs
On May 10, 2016, it was revealed that the opening theme for Despair Arc will be performed by the band binaria and will be called Kami-iro Awase . While the ending theme will be performed by Megumi Ogata as Nagito Komaeda called Zettai Kib Birthday .
On May 17, 2016, it was revealed that the opening theme for Future Arc will be performed by Maon Kurosaki and TRUSTRICK, composed of Billy and Sayaka Kanda, and it will be called DEAD OR LIE. While the ending theme will be performed by TRUSTRICK and will be called Recall THE END.

A Special Ova Special Is Bundled With Danganronpa V3
There are two Danganronpa anime that cover diverse territory, but there’s also an extra piece to the story that’s available in a unique way. The limited edition PlayStation 4 release for Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony includes the animated special, SuperDanganronpa 2.5: Nagito Komaeda and the Destroyer of the World. It’s a moving story that’s set before the events of the Danganronpa 3 anime’s Hope Arc and looks at a boy who’s retreated into an artificial peaceful world as a coping mechanism. It’s not essential, but it adds more depth to the Danganronpa 3’s anime final episode.
Learning More About Oma
Ouma is a strange character and borders on being an antagonist, much like Nagito in Goodbye Despair. Oma constantly claims to be evil and even goes as far as to say he is a former murderer. As it turns out by the end of the game, though, Oma is a pretty harmless individual with a slightly useless ultimate.
It also doesn’t help that Oma loves to lie constantly.

The Danganronpa Plotline Could Grow Stale
Much like a television series with too many seasons, Danganronpa runs the potential of overstaying its welcome with too many installments. A video game like Danganronpa;relies heavily on the mysterious storyline to move the visual novel along. Though the writers and developers work to balance the right amount of suspense and intrigue for each game, players already know the main gist of the script: The students lose their memories, the world outside Hope’s Peak is a dystopian nightmare, and there’s a mastermind behind it all . Killing Harmony was still able to create a jaw-dropping twist to satisfy fans, but how many fourth wall-breaking twists can players stomach before the trick gets old?

Danganronpa Anime Watch Order
Now let us talk about the anime series in the Danganronpa Franchise. The franchise has done well to expand into other media and as a result, the anime has a similar fanbase with its own twist.
Danganronpa has two main titles, Danganronpa: The Animation and Danganronpa 3: The End of Hopes Peak High School.
Future And Despair Intended Watch Order
As I understand it, Danganronpa 3 was intended by the creators for you to watch alternating episodes of the Future Arc and the Despair Arc. So if you watched Future episode 1, you were then supposed to watch Despair episode 1 then do that until it concludes with the Hope Arc. This is something you can do, but kind of takes the pacing out of the Future Arc a bit.

Danganronpa: Who Created Monokuma & 9 Other Questions About The Anime Answered
Its easy to dismiss Danganronpa as just another video game anime, but theres a lot more going on here that’s easy to question.
There are plenty of anime that skew towards the stranger sensibilities of the animated medium, but Danganronpa is an extremely bizarre property. The anime follows a bunch of students whose lives are on the line and theyre pushed to go to dark places in order to secure their survival. Danganronpa: The Animation is one of the better examples of an anime thats based on a video game and it truly helps the property evolve.
At its core, Danganronpa weaves a disturbing and unusual mystery, but it also functions as a brilliant psychological character study that demands several viewings. Its easy to dismiss Danganronpa as just another video game anime, but theres a lot more going on here.
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
The original title in the Danganronpa series is a kind of a murder mystery but unlike the fun, Saturday night murder mysteries we see in many TV Shows this murder mystery can actually turn into a massacre.
The game takes place in Hopes Peak Academy, a prestigious school that only accepts the Ultimate students. All of these students are brilliant, athletic, have a vast amount of knowledge, and really smart, basically every one of these students is a genius.
Our protagonist, Makoto Naegi, is picked as the Ultimate Lucky Student among the fifteen students. All gathered students are suddenly interrupted by a remote-controlled bear that calls himself, Monokuma.
Monokuma puts them all in his game where all of them are imprisoned for life and for them to leave one of the classmates has to murder another and not get caught.
If the other students identify the real culprit all of them live but the culprit dies and if they identify the wrong one all of them die but the culprit lives!

Hajime’s Parents Permitted Him Being Changed
The Despair Arc got fans insight as to why Hajime agreed to change into an Ultimate student. He was insecure and envious of the ultimate students.
However, if you looked at the computer screen information in episode six then you may have been horrified to learn that the school somehow got his parents’ permission for the Izuru project. The text shows that the parents agreed that the school would not be liable for any of the consequences of the project.
That’s crazy, isn’t it? While there is not evidence, it’s very likely that the parents did not know the full extent of the Izuru project. In fact, the school might have openly lied. After all, Izuru was corrupted in an ironic twist for the school’s sins of experimenting on a student.
Give Life To The Dialogue
As with is the case with most visual novels, V3 is a game that relies on reading more than animation. By having a proper anime, the game can give life to many of the scenes that are only played out by dialogue. Seeing the trials happen in an animated fashion would interesting and help add to the tension of the game.
Best of all, this would give the characters much more depth.

Despite The Last Game’s Pointed Commentary Monokuma’s Gearing Up For Another Killing Game
It looks like, despite creating an entire game that used a meta-driven commentary on fandom, capitalism, and the desire to not run a series into the ground, Spike Chunsoft might be in the process of developing another game in the;Danganronpa;series.
The company has added a new job listing on Workport for a UI designer for an unnamed PlayStation 4 and PC adventure game. That seems fairly standard, run-of-the-mill information to put in a job description, but theres also one more specific requirement: the applicant must be a fan of the;Danganronpa series .
Over the past few years, the teddy bear-orchestrated murder mystery series has become a pretty big hit for Spike Chunsoft, especially after the first two games in the series,;Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, were finally localized and brought to the west in 2014. The audience grew again after the Vita games were ported to PC and PlayStation 4, then a puzzle shooter spin-off Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls;followed and was also ported to other platforms. The story Spike Chunsoft had been telling was ultimately wrapped up in the anime series Danganronpa 3: The End of Hopes Peak High School, which premiered in 2016.
