Especially ones that have a large global release with many different language dubs, such as the latest and highly anticipated anime theatrical release for this year, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. After watching the movie in theaters, I had the opportunity to speak with Crunchyroll’s senior VP of global commerce Mitchel Berger, who managed the distribution of some of the highest grossing anime releases , to discuss the theatrical experience process of anime films.

Nausica Of The Valley Of The Wind
The partnership between GKIDS and Fathom Events is bringing most of Studio Ghiblis films back to the big screen in 2019. Their next offering celebrates the 35th anniversary of Hayao Miyazakis second film as a director and the first that really represents what we now think of as a Miyazaki movie. Its an adaptation of the directors own manga, about a princess in a post-apocalyptic world who leads a resistance force against a kingdom that is trying to destroy the giant insects inhabiting a forest poisoned by the apocalypse. Its a beautiful, epic movie well worth seeing on the big screen.
