Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 Release Date: Why Its Really Winter 2022 This Time

Now they HATE politics in anime?! Total MELTDOWN over viral Attack on Titan right wing meme!

The exact Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 release date is January 9, 2022.

Earlier in 2021, Studio MAPPA officially confirmed that the Final Season will have a Part 2 thats a split-cour anime season. But why wait for Winter 2022?

Theres a good reason that we knew in advance that the Final Seasons second cour would be a split-cour. The Kingdom Season 3 anime rebroadcast is also starting in spring 2021. That TV show previously occupied the Japanese TV broadcast schedule time-slot occupied by Attack On Titan.

But what does a Winter release date mean in this context? Typically, when the anime industry says Winter in the current year they mean Winter 2022, which means January 2022.

The FUNimation news blog also specifically states, Attack on Titan Final Season Episode 76 is officially in production and will arrive during the Winter 2022 anime season.

The 800-pound titan in the room is the odd number of episodes. The first cour released in December 2020 due to having 16 episodes. Thus, some anime fans were hoping that Part 2 will have a similar number of episodes and the Attack On Titan Episode 76 release date will be in December 2021. Besides the fact that such release schedules are a rarity in the anime industry, Part 1 was specifically advertised to be released in Fall 2020 despite the bulk of the episodes premiering in Winter 2021.

Will There Be An Attack On Titan Movie After Season 4

As of today, there have yet to be any announcements made concerning a film for Attack on Titan.

Nevertheless, just like many fans all over the world, we expect this to not be the case for long. After all, the final chapter of the manga series titled Toward the Tree on That Hill was over 40 pages long full of extremely important conclusions and plot twists that simply cannot be disregarded by the anime. Unless the final epsiode of season 4 part 2 will be about an hour-long, a movie just may well be in the cards.

Additionally, in knowing that many other popular anime series such as Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer have had unprecedented box office success following the release of their respective films, Attack on Titan could hop on the trend and very much so may do the same.

Being that nothing has yet to be confirmed, well be sure to update you once we know more about this anime series plans but in the meantime, dont forget to catch the long-awaited premiere of Attack on Titan season 4 part 2 streaming tomorrow, Jan. 9 at 3:45 p.m. EST/12:45 p.m. PST on Funimation and Crunchyroll.

When Do New Chapters Come Out

Believe it or not, the popular manga isn’t a weekly release. Since the story began publishing, fans are only treated to chapters once a month, unless there has been some sort of delay in the publishing process.

While this may sound like a long time to wait for a chapter, the series will now likely finish before Season 4 starts to air on TV, making it the faster way to complete the series.

When Do New Attack On Titan Episodes Drop

The first episode of the second part of Attack on Titan’s fourth and final season is already available on both Crunchyroll and Funimation, but when can we watch more?

Attack on Titan is simulcast with episodic releases in Japan. This Sunday the first episode dropped at 12.45 p.m. PST so you can expect new episodes to drop weekly at that time. So, essentially jump on to Funimation or Crunchyroll at 12.45 p.m. PST to watch new episodes of the show each Sunday.

It’s worth noting these episodes will be subbed, not dubbed.

Who Will Write The New Ending

Attack on Titan fans furious over anime

Hajime Isayama made it clear in an interview that he has no intentions of writing Attack on Titan any longer. However, considering how confusing the story is, I dont think that the franchise will think of altering it without consulting the author. Even the subtle changes in the story are expected to be approved by Isayama sensei before getting implemented in the anime.

Moreover, a brand-new ending will open up the possibilities of a Season 5 or a sequel in the upcoming days. Even the manga ended with a hint that there may be a sequel coming in the future. As I just mentioned, Hajime Isayama wont be writing any more of Attack on Titan, so its totally upon the staff members if they want to revive the masterpiece in a new avatar. The Attack on Titan series has been full of surprises, and theres no way of predicting what plan do MAPPA and Isayama have for the future of this series.

Attack On Titan: Before The Fall

Attack On Titan: Before The Fall is a prequel to the epic series. It takes place 70 years before the Colossal Titan appears on Paradis and centers around a boy named Kuklo. His mother gave birth as a titan ate her. Found in a pile of titan puke, Kuklo was considered to be the son of a titan and was abused by people for the majority of his life. One day, he meets a girl named Sharle who teaches him about the world they live in. After they escape from her father, who treats her as a possession and Kuklo as a slave, he decides to join the Survey Corps and prove that he is more human than titan.

Will Attack On Titan Season 4 Get A Different Ending

In the Attack on Titan event held on November 14, Tanimiya Kisho and Mima Masafumi hinted that the franchise is planning something interesting for the final seasons ending. Kaji Yuki, the voice actor of Eren Yeager, immediately changed the topic and stopped them from revealing any further detail.

Many fans took this as a clear hint towards Attack on Titan: Final Season Part 2 having a different ending from the manga. However, dont get your hopes high just yet. Concluding anything about the animes climax just from a live interview is too far-fetched. Maybe this is a promotional strategy to keep the hype alive among the fans.

Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 Episode Count

According to Monsters and Critics, Attack on Titan season 4 part 2 is slated to have a total of 12 episodes.

The episode duration of each episode is currently unknown but we do know that the first will be titled Judgment and is expected to be about 23 minutes in length.

Should the remaining 11 episodes follow episode 76s suit and no more than 23 minutes long, it wouldnt be outrageous to assume that the series would eventually need one more installment to truly cover the entirety of Hajime Isayamas story, but what is the likelihood of our assumptions proving to be true?

Who Is The Main Character In Attack On Titan

Attack on Titan is a curious one the main character and protagonist of the series is undoubtedly Eren Jeager, a teenager who swears revenge on the Titans after they destroy his hometown and kill his mother. He then joins the Military with childhood friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, with the three fighting and studying Titans as part of the Survey Corps.

*Warning: spoilers ahead for Attack on Titan season 4 part 1*

However, despite his heroic origins Eren undergoes an almost reverse character arc, performing more and more violent acts until he becomes more of an anti-hero. By the end of season four part one he has announced his intention to destroy all nations outside of Paradis, and become the final series antagonist.

With half a season left, only time will tell if Eren can be redeemed

Attack On Titan Fans Didnt Love The Mangas Ending

Attack on Titans ending villainizes and kills its main character, something that tends to create controversy regardless of the story youre looking at. Game of Thronesfaced similar backlash with its series finale. In fact, Eren and Daenerys fans could probably find a thing or two in common.

Of course, its not just killing Eren that bothered longtime manga readers. The cycle of violence carrying on makes his sacrifice feel like its in vain. Thats not to mention the epilogue chapter shows Mikasa moving on, a development those rooting for the pair werent exactly keen on.

On Reddit, fans also pointed to the messiness of the ending many suggesting the conclusion felt rushed and left mixed messages. Some suggested it didnt fit with everything that came before. Whatever fans reasoning, its clear a good portion of them werent thrilled with the direction Attack on Titan went in.

The anime has the chance to reshape the narrative heading into its final round of episodes. Will it?

Attack On Titan: No Regrets

Another prequel prior to the events of the main series is No Regrets, which tells the story of how Levi joined the Survey Corps. He had two friends, Isabel and Furlan, who joined with him. Erwin found them and agreed to excuse them from their crimes if they joined the military and fought titans with him. Planning to kill the commander, Levi ends up befriending him after learning that the titans are responsible for taking away everything that mattered to him. Despite only being two volumes, this is one of the greatest stories in Attack On Titan‘s universe.

Is It Worth Starting From The Beginning

Yes, many fans have noted subtle changes that make the manga a fresh read. By starting from the beginning, you will also be able to refresh yourself on everything that has happened in the story, which will help you be prepared for the manga’s conclusion when it finally publishes.

The best part about reading the manga is looking for small differences and being able to catch foreshadowing that fans didn’t notice the first time around.

When Is ‘attack On Titan’ Coming Back

Attack on Titan (Season 1) A Anime Take Over Review

Throughout the first three seasons, Eren Jaeger fought alongside the Survey Corps to reclaim their city stronghold from the ravenous Titans. While they were able to push back against the monsters, they eventually discovered that Paradis Island thought to be home to the last remaining humans was effectively a prison for people who could turn into Titans. Humanity was alive and well in the nation of Marley, and Eren’s people were simply caught in one giant internment camp.

The fourth season saw a broken Eren arrive in Marley years after the revelation. The Eldians of Paradis Island began an invasion of the outside world, using Eren’s growing Titan abilities as a lynchpin.

While both sides attempted to achieve a form of unity, they had difficulty seeing eye to eye. Eren proved to be especially chaotic throughout their interactions, appearing to sympathize with violent Eldian radicals.

The first part ended with Eren ready to take on the Marleyan forces.

The original manga for Attack on Titan released its final chapter in April 2021, so it’s safe to say that the story is approaching its conclusion in anime form.

What If There Are Still Attack On Titan Chapters Left To Adapt

If the remaining episodes of Attack on Titan in season 4 part 2 dont adapt the final chapters of the manga, the only option left is to release an anime movie.

Considering the recent box office success of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, which adapted an entire arc between seasons 1 and 2, this is not out of the realms of possibility.

This especially considering that Demon Slayer is arguably the second most popular anime in the world right now, only behind Attack on Titan.

So, if the anime series was to end without covering the full manga series, producing one final movie to wrap up the remaining chapters would be an excellent option from a business standpoint.

Attack On Titan Season 4 Release Date

Are The Characters The Same

Like with most anime, the characters were changed to better appeal to viewers. Believe it or not, the best example of this is Levi, who actually has more of a sense of humor in the manga than he does in the anime.

Mikasa is also notably less obsessed with Eren, which is a great touch for many fans. Reading the manga can give a better look at the character’s personalities that did get reworked for the anime adaptation.

What Happens If Season 4 Doesnt Adapt The Entire Manga

Attack on Titan: Is The Manga Over? & 9 Other Questions ...

Whilst the final television broadcast of Attack on Titan is expected to completely adapt the remaining manga chapters, what happens if it doesnt?

Throughout the promotional campaign for the upcoming broadcast, season 4 has been consistently labelled as The Final Season.

This indicates that another television season is not on the cards, meaning that the only other option would be one massive final anime movie.

Whilst most fans wont like the idea of Attack on Titan not concluding with the television series, there are two reasons why a final movie could be Plan B.

Attack on Titan Wiki

Firstly, the ending to the manga series, which was released in June, wasnt particularly well-receivedby fans. Even with the extra pages that Isayama added, the concluding chapters left a lot to be desired something that MAPPA studios will need to address in the anime.

Concluding season 4 of the anime with enough remaining chapters for a movie would be advantageous to MAPPA either fleshing out the original ending or giving the studio enough time to create their own.

This would also be thanks to the incredible success of anime movies over the past two years, notably Demon Slayer: Mugen Train which broke countless box office records in Japan and was the highest-grossing movie of 2020.

Considering the revenue generated from Demon Slayer: Mugen Train and other films such as Jujutsu Kaisen 0, it would be safe to assume that the temptation of breaking those records could be too much.
