Ah Mappas at it again. It feels they are literally everywhere these days. Over the last year, they have really grown in popularity thanks to 2 really big projects: Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan. And their reputation has grown so much that I dont even need to tell how well they executed these anime.
They recently had their 10th anniversary and they announced quite a few really cool things over there. These include a new original movie which I did an article on, a teaser visual for the AoT Final Season, and then this.
Man, I am excited for Chainsaw Man. If you wanna know whats the manga like, itd be best described as near Evangelion level of mental trauma with a lot of gore.; Denji reminds me of Shinji in a lot of aspects. For instance, they both share to live a normal life yet end up on the most abnormal spot. Lets move on to the main topic now

Chainsaw Man manga is written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto and serialized in Shueishas Weekly Shonen Jump. Admittedly, the manga has very dark undertones. It is filled with gratuitous violence, limitless bloodshed, occasional ecchi and nudity, teenage fantasies and so on. Almost seems like it doesnt belong to Weekly Shonen Jump.
The story follows a young boy named Denji, living in a world of monsters. Denji has been repressed and tortured his whole life due to being heavily indebted. Owing to dire circumstances, Denji is forced to merge with the devil dog called Pochita. Denji turns into the Chainsaw Man : by pulling the string on his chest, chainsaw comes out of his body and he wrecks everything.
Denji is employed under Devil hunter Makima, on whom he has a major crush. Denji meets Aki and Power, who go on to become the main support cast. Denjis journey consists of killing nasty devils and fulfilling his fantasies but no good thing lasts long. Pretty soon his life is turned upside down and turmoil comes crushing down on him.
Chainsaw Man Season 1 will probably adapt the manga up to the bomb girl arc it will contain most of the mangas primary elements and hype the audience up for the madness that comes next. With 24-26 episodes, the anime can decently adapt multiple arcs and deliver a very solid and exciting story to the audience.

The Twitter account @nagayama_koharu, which claims to belong to “third-year middle school student” who likes Fujimoto’s series Fire Punch and Chainsaw Man but is alleged to be connected to Fujimoto himself, tweeted about Goro Miyazaki’s film Earwig and the Witch in a message that roughly translates to “I saw Earwig and the Witch today.
