How To Draw HANDS – EASY SIMPLE BASIC SHAPES IN ANIME MANGA

REIQ is among the top anime artists out there. So no figure, that a full character tutorial can be found from REIQs Youtube account. This two-part tutorial shows you a step-by-step process for drawing your very own anime character. One of the best qualities in REIQ is that he draws quality looking original characters. Something that not too many can draw so easily as he can.

Also, one thing to point out is that he also draws the background for his characters and that is something many character designers seem to leave out. If you are looking for a complete tutorial on character drawing and background drawing. REIQ can lead the way here.

Draw The Outline Of The Shoes

Around/on top of the shape of the feet draw the outlines of the shoes with their largest and most important details.

Running shoes often have soft padding through them and thus tend to be somewhat thicker than other shoe types. For this reason you should draw their outline shape some distance away from the foot.

Erase the part of the foot covered by the shoes so that you have a clean drawing like the one in the above example.

Drawing A Delinquent/thug Male Anime Character

The delinquent character tends to be a bully or a thug. Usually these are negative characters that give other characters in the anime or manga a hard time.

Spiky and messy hair along with a goatee can be a good fit for the delinquent.

For a tutorial on drawing anime facial hair see:

For the delinquents normal look draw the eyebrows in their natural position. Draw the eyes with the bottom eyelids curving much further down then normal and draw the pupils much smaller then normal. There should be a good amount of space between the irises and the bottom eyelids. You can also give a hint of bags under the eyes with a pair of small curved lines.

Finally draw the mouth in a fairly sharp upside down curve and draw the bottom lip in a similar manner.

This combination of facial feature adjustments will give the delinquent an unfriend, slightly crazy and dumb look.

Drawing A Bullying Delinquent/thug Male Anime Character

The bullying face is another expression the delinquent/thug is likely to make especially when they corner their target.

For the delinquents/thugs bullying face draw one eyebrow lowered and one raised. The eye under the lowered eyebrow should be squinted and the one under the raised eyebrow opened slightly wider than normal.

Draw the with a grin/smile tilted to one side and draw the top portion of the mouth in an upside down curve .

Drawing Anime Mouths Teeth Showing

How to draw a simple hands

Regardless if the character is very excited in laughter or is just speaking loudly, drawings of anime mouths wide open seem to always be presented with teeth showing. Whether it is the upper teeth or lower teeth really depends on the perspective and angle at which the character is presented to the viewer.

Usually, if we are looking at a character from above, , their bottom teeth will be showing. When we are looking at the character from below ,;their upper teeth will be showing.;I also found out that in most anime that I reference for this tutorial, if we seem to be looking at the character straight on at about eye level,;the upper teeth will be showing and not the lower teeth.;

Drawing Anime Hands Proportions

If youre familiar with my tutorials, you know that I am not a big proponent of learning exact proportions for everything. Proportions will change depending on what you want to draw.; Proportions change given the perspective and foreshortening of the subject. Over time you must learn to gauge proportions and correct based on what you are drawing. However, there are a couple of rules that are very helpful in drawing the hand and we can use them for drawing anime hands.

Drawing Anime Mouths Screaming Angry Or Exerting Effort

HOW TO DRAW HANDS – EASY ANIME STEP BY STEP

Many expressions of the mouth in anime are often interchangeable with others. As an example, above are screaming and angry drawings of a mouth as well at mouths showing exertion. It is often hard to pinpoint the expression exactly without other cues or other facial features for context. While this could seem confusing, it actually works well for the artist.

We only need to learn so many expressions to be able to draw them all. Learn to draw the ones above and you can then draw an anime character expressing anger, or one exerting physical force. You will notice, however, that the difference between those two expressions is likely to be shown in other facial features.

There are some similarities we need to be aware of.

Notice how the majority of these have rounded corners and a line indicating a break between the teeth.

Notice also that the line indicating the separation of the upper and lower teeth is zig-zagged. This type of line indicates some overlap of the jaw when the teeth are clenched together.

In this tutorial, I will show you how to draw anime hands by explaining the anatomy and structure behind them. I’ll show you how to simplify the rhythm of the hands, how to start the drawing, and how to keep the proportions correct. I’ll also show you how to draw the feet, which are another problematic issue for many artists. If you want to keep things simple, I’ll show you how to draw hands and feet step by step as well.

How To Draw Anime Eyes

When you have drawn the anime eyes, it would be awesome to color it. Colors and shades really do bring life to the eyes and Shachimus tutorial and awesome for that.

Very different from the previous videos as this video shows more about the coloring process of the eye rather than the drawing part.

The coloring is one thing that creates a personality for your anime eyes and this tutorial nicely shows you how to color the iris of the eye.

Draw The Folded Fingers & Smaller Bends Of The Hand

Add the individual shapes of the two folded fingers as well as the smaller curves of the hand. These will be along the bottom of the palm and between the other two fingers. Erase the extra lines from the previous step so that your drawing looks similar to the example above.

You can see the estimated placement of the joints for the peace sign pose above. The joints overlapped by other parts of the hand are not shown to avoid making the drawing too confusing.

Drawing A Tired Loner Anime Male Character

Easy Hand Drawing at GetDrawings

The tired face is another expression that can be quite common to loner characters. For example they may spend the night playing online games and be tired in the morning.

For a tired look for the loner draw the eyebrows in upside down curves with their inner ends raised. Draw the top eyelids in reverse of their normal curves lower down on the eyes.

Keep the mouth the same as the normal expression.

Drawing Anime Hands A Step

The glove/mitten method stems from the fact that most of us can better imagine and draw a glove or a mitten than a detailed anime hand.

You dont have to worry about drawing in fingers. With this method, you only worry about the general shapes. Controlling general shapes is basis for all good drawing. That is to say, every great drawing starts with the artist having full control of the general shape of what they are drawing.

Start drawing anime hands with a simple boxy shape of a glove or a mitten. With this type of simplification fingers are indicated with one rectangular shape, then the simplified form is drawn over with more detail and by adding divisions of the fingers.

Above is a good example of how the glove/mitten method works.

When you draw the simplified form, think about the general shape of the hand, its proportions, the general gesture. Worry about the details on the second pass.

Above is an example of a very simplified form drawn for the fist. Note that, although the fingers twist down, I was able to draw that in later.

It was easier to draw because the general shape and perspective of the drawing was resolved in the simplified and boxy under-drawing on the left.

Note that all of the drawings of anime hands I made for the tutorial start with the general shape of the palm.

Below are two more examples.

Drawing The Male Figure

How to Draw Relaxed Hands, 5 Ways
  • 1Make an oval with a pointed bottom near the top of your paper for the head. Place the oval in the top middle of your paper so you have enough room to add hair later on. Draw angled lines down from either side of the oval that extend down to form the jaw line. Sketch the jaw lines so they meet at a point below the oval to form the chin.XResearch source
  • Male anime characters usually have longer, narrower faces than females.
  • Dont draw your circle too large or else you wont be able to fit the rest of the body on the page.
  • 2Extend a vertical line thats 6 ½ times taller than the head down the page. Measure the height of your characters head from the top of the circle to the bottom of the chin. Multiply the measurement by 6 ½ to find out how tall your character should be so its proportional. Start the line in the top center of the head and extend it straight down to the length you found so you know how tall your character should be.XResearch source
  • You can also draw horizontal lines marking the head size along the vertical guide. That way you can visually see where the characters anatomy lines up.
  • 3Sketch in a rectangular shape for the torso. Draw a horizontal line below the chin on your characters head to mark the tops of their shoulders. Add lines down from the ends of the shoulder that angle slightly toward the center guide. Once the torso extends halfway down the vertical guide line, draw a horizontal line on the bottom for the hips.XResearch source

Analyze The Ratio Shape Of The Hand

This step requires you to study the ratio of the fingers.

The fingers and the palm of the right hand are nearly equal in length. The fingertip draws at a 45-degree angle to the hand that will reach just below the finger bone of the index finger. The fingers consist of three parts with the distance from the tip of the finger to the top joint being the shortest and the distance from the finger to the lower joint is the longest.

    Sketching The Female Body

  • 1Draw a head at the top of your paper. Place a circle near the top center of the page so theres enough room to add hair later on. Put the point of the chin slightly outside the bottom edge of the circle since the jaw will come lower down. Sketch in curved jaw lines from either side of the circle toward the mark you just made to make a pointed chin for your anime girl.XResearch source
  • Work lightly in pencil so you can erase and make changes if you need to.
  • If you have trouble drawing a circle, use a compass to help you draw one.
  • Dont add any facial features yet since you may need to make adjustments to the size of the head later on.
  • Warning: Be careful not to draw the head too large or else you wont be able to fit the rest of the body on the sheet of paper.

  • 2Make a vertical line thats 6 ½ times taller than the head down the middle of the paper. Measure the height of the head from the top of the circle to the point of the chin. Start your line at the top of your characters head and draw it straight down so its 6 ½ taller than the head. Space horizontal marks down the vertical line so theyre the same distance apart as the head height to use as guides.XResearch source
  • Measure your proportions each time or else your anime character wont look natural.
  • The guide line will also help keep your drawing symmetrical.
  • When youre finished, the head and torso together will be about 3 heads tall.
  • Your anime girls shoulders should be about 1 ½ times wider than the head.

    Finish The Claw/gripping Hand Drawing

To finish the drawing draw the lines along the palm of the hand and the fingernails. Again same as the other poses the nail on the thumb will be viewed on an angle and should be drawn narrower.

To help that the sections of the fingers from the last joint to the tip are at a slight angle draw the fingernails just a tiny bit farther away from the tips. This will make the bottom of the fingers appear like they are angled facing more towards the viewer.

Estimate The Position Of The Feet

11+ Simple Anime Beginner Step By Step Easy Drawings PNG ...

Before drawing the shoes its a good idea to at least estimate the position of the feet inside of them. In the case of running shoes the feet will be in pretty much their natural standing position . This way you will be able to better judge the size of the shoes as well as how they should sit on the foot.

Please note that you do not need to fully draw out the feet with all of the toes every time you want to draw shoes. You can make quick sketch of their outline shape as in the example above.

If drawing on paper be sure to draw the foot with very light lines that you can easily erase after you draw the shoe.
