Hello, hello my dears~ As I said in my last post, there wont be a Live Action Sunday post this week since Ill probably be on vacation for a week when this is posted~ Ive also swapped with Marc for this week~ Im probably out being a fatty. But have no fear! I do have something adorably fun for you!~
Today Im here to share , or A Polar Bear in Love!~ Its a short mini anime of sorts, based on the 2016 manga of the same name. I say mini anime because it only has 5 episodes , that are only a minute long.
PLOTBasically you have a lost little seal pup that runs into a polar bear. He panics thinking that hes about to be eaten. However, the polar bear has no interest in eating him. Rather, the bear has fallen in love at first sight! All the polar bear wants to do is love and protect this smol and round seal. Though the seal constantly thinks the bear wants to eat him
I love the polar bear and seal. Theyre completely adorable and I cant help but support this ship haha~ I only wished that there was a longer full anime series or something since its so short.
Theres not much to say about it, other than its a ridiculously adorable and silly series. Its one of those things youd watch for a good laugh. Its sure to make you smile and laugh even if youve been in a bad mood or had an awful day. Ive included the available subtitled episodes for you~ Enjoy and have a wonderful day BAYOG fam!~
A Polar Bear Falls In Love Mini
A Polar Bear in Love, a mini-anime based on the B.L. manga by Koromo about a lonely and amorous polar bear who becomes infatuated with a harp seal who think he’s about to become dinner, is returning to theaters in Japan in the Fall season of 2018, and a new romantic rival has appeared.
In the new shorts, actor Ryohei Otani will provide the voice of Shachi , a warm-blooded mammal whose presence threatens to throw off the balance of the relationship between Shirokuma-san and Azarashi-kun . A Polar Bear in Love is directed by Kazuya Ichikawa and features animation production by Gathering.
Like the previous animated shorts, the new episodes of A Polar Bear in Love will screen in Japanese movie theaters as part of the pre-show entertainment package.
The original A Polar Bear in Love manga is published on the Pixiv Comic and Comic Walker websites. Kadokawa also publishes printed volumes under their Media Factory Comics label, and an English language is available from Yen Press, who describe the story as follows:

A Polar Bear in Love) manga. The new short, titled “Hyheki Don” , is a web-only exclusive, and cannot be seen in theaters unlike the other shorts.
The short begins with Seal attempting to escape the sleeping Polar Bear, still fearing that Polar Bear will eat him. But before Seal can get far, Polar Bear wakes up and runs to him. Seal pleads to Polar Bear not to eat him, but Polar Bear instead performs a kabe-don on Seal with a nearby ice wall.
Shochiku previously streamed the 60-second version of the anime’s first episode. The first episode debuted in Japanese theaters on March 4. The second episode debuted on May 13.

Polar Bear In Love Manga Volume 1 Review
Polar Bear in Love was a recent pick-up from one of my recent comic book runs. Ive seen it pop up on twitter before, and apparently theres a collection of online-only anime shorts being created for it. All the more reason for me to pick up the manga and check out what all the fuss is about. Be prepared though, if you wind up deciding to pick this up, youll get hit with a wave of cute as soon as you open the manga. Its something I would consider an all-ages manga since I havent seen anything yet that makes me think there will be any older-level content, but it does have an undercurrent of boys love since both main characters are male. I would definitely say the manga is entertaining and does lend itself well to short-form animations, but it also may be too lacking in substance to keep me hooked in the future.
The basis of the manga centers around a young polar bear and a baby seal, both male, who meet each other while the seal is waiting for his mother to come back up through hole in the ice. Despite being natural enemies, Polar Bear falls in love with Seal. Its love at first sight, but Seal still cant forget that he is Polar Bears favorite meal. Seal cant escape from Polar Bears advances though, and winds up staying with the amorous bear at least until his mother comes back. Written and created by Koromo and originally published on Pixiv, the English manga release was picked up by Yen Press.

A Polar Bear in Love) manga on Friday. The short is titled “Ai no Omosa” .
The short begins when Seal asks to get on Polar Bear’s back. Polar Bear lets him and thinks about how he is glad to do Seal a favor. He reflects to himself that this must be the weight of love, and the pair appear to fall asleep. Polar Bear apparently rolls over in his sleep and suddenly wakes up to find his load is lightened. Seal is sleeping apart from him, alone on the snow.
Shochiku began streaming the “Hyheki Don” web-only short earlier this month. The distributor previously streamed the 60-second version of the anime’s first episode. The first episode debuted in Japanese theaters on March 4. The second episode debuted on May 13.

Wotakoi: Love Is Hard For Otaku
We’ll start off with a fairly straightforward one, the most similar in tone and content to Aggretsuko – Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku. The protagonists are Narumi and Hirotaka, coworkers who share a lifestyle in both devotion to their careers and an obsessive love of nerd culture. The main difference between them is that while Narumi is somewhat embarassed by her hobbies, Hirotaka is unfazed by others knowing about his love of all things anime and gaming. They find a sort of solace with each other, understanding the desire to both be self-reliant adults and indulge in their fandoms. The show itself is much like them, actually – it loves its fun reference humor and some juvenile jokes, but also takes the romance between its main characters fairly seriously, with them hitting it off basically right away instead of following a will-they-won’t-they plot that is usually present in anime romances. Along the way we are introduced to other nerdy coworkers and friends of theirs, and a fun, unique repitoire grows between them.

If you prefer the chase part of a romance, though, you might enjoy the currently airing My Senpai Is Annoying. Again following a group of white-collar coworkers, the main character Futaba is a small but scrappy woman whose issues about her height drive her to succeed in work. Along the way, though, she ends up falling for her coworker Harumi, who is her complete opposite – large, boisterous, and with a complete lack of self-consciousness. Unfortunately for Futaba, it’s exactly Harumi’s blindness to the small and sensitive things in life that keeps him from seeing what everyone around them can see: Futaba’s barely concealed affection for him. Since Harumi and Futaba getting together would ruin the central appeal of the show, My Senpai Is Annoying is primarily a comedy of errors, seeing Futaba stumble around the office trying to capture Harumi’s attention while only half-realizing that she has feelings for him in the first place, Harumi never noticing her attempts at flirtation, and their friends as they try to eventually push the two together.

A Polar Bear In Love Gets A Spinoff Anime
The cute animated short A Polar Bear in Love that ran before films in various theaters all across Japan is getting a spinoff anime.
The staff announced that the side story will feature a human character, for the first time alongside a brief teaser for the spinoff .
The first 60 sec episode aired in March 2017 and has since then intermittently ran before various movies all across the country and at intermissions of those movies.
The story centers around a polar bear who falls in love with an earless seal, and the whole time the seal is terrified the bear wants to eat him, but the bear just wants to protect him from harm. Its very cute, and Im looking forward to watching it.
I have a weak spot for really cute things and this looks offensively adorable. The cast includes some fairly well known voice actors like Natsuki Hanae, Yuichiro Umehara, Tetsuya Sugawara, and Ryohei Otani. Theres also an orca whale in the story too, and I have no idea what part it plays but Im looking forward to finding out.

Based on a popular Pixiv web comic by Koromo about a male polar bear falling in love with a male seal, Shochiku has published the Koi Suru Shirokuma short-form theatrical anime to their official Youtube channel.
The Koi Suru Shirokuma theatrical short is directed by Kazuya Ichikawa and features animation by Gathering. It features the voice talents of Yichir Umehara as Shirokuma-san, a lonely and amorous polar bear, and Natsuki Hanae as Azarashi-kun, a seal who initially mistakes Shirokuma-san’s romantic advances as signs of hunger.
The Koi Suru Shirokuma short will screen as part of the pre-show trailer reels in some 50 theaters throughout Japan beginning on March 04, 2017.
