Kabaneri Of The Iron Fortress
Kabane are human-eating monsters that emerged from a mysterious virus during the Industrial revolution. The only way to kill them is by destroying their steel-coated hearts.
Humanity has survived by building a wall around their habitation where the only way to enter is by a heavily armored train which can pierce their hearts.
Ikoma, a young man with a dream to fight those monsters using the trains, will come sooner than he expected.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba
One of the biggest anime phenomena this side of Attack on Titan also happens to be fairly terrifying, kicking off with protagonist Tanjiro Kamado’s entire family, save for his sister Nezuko who turns half-demon, being brutally mauled in the pilot. Though the series makes room for quieter, melancholy episodes in its arcs to highlight Tanjiro’s deep compassion, it’s really all about the horrifying and beautifully animated demon battles as Tanjiro slashes through whomever he must to find a way to turn Nezuko back into a human.Watch it on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, or Netflix

Is Crunchyroll legal?
Crunchyroll is totally legal. Everything is licensed. Premium users get it ad-free, which is worth subscribing in my opinion.
Is funimation better than Crunchyroll?
Crunchyroll focuses on subtitled anime. Its a little more expensive but has a larger library of anime. Funimation is more affordable with less content but focuses on anime dubbed in English and subtitled anime. If you enjoy your anime in its original Japanese with English subtitles, then subscribe to Crunchyroll.

And What About Romance
Horror and romance may not necessarily seem like two genres that go together but it certainly works in anime.
For anime fans looking for a swoon-worthy horror there are several to choose from, including vampire series Diabolik Lovers and its sequel Diabolik Lovers II: More Blood, both of which are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
Sengoku Night Blood also has a similar focus on vampires but includes the added bonus of werewolves and Oni.
One classic horror romance is Vampire Knight, which as the title suggests focuses on creatures of the blood-sucking variety with a romantic twist.
High School Of The Dead
The Walking Deadis still considered the go-to zombie series, and there is a lot of love for defeating the undead when it comes to cartoons, shows, and anime. High School of the Dead has the typical setup for a zombie horror story, deserving a spot on this list. A pandemic called the Outbreak spreads throughout Japan, and humans turn into zombies while groups of students struggle to survive.
It sounds incredibly generic, especially with the seemingly stereotypical anime tropish characters. However, High School of the Dead proves to be something more than it portrays. Morality is questioned, characters take unexpected turns, and the show is overall an enjoyable watch. The action scenes are particularly gruesome, and the story behind the pandemic is quite interesting.
There is one thing about High School of the Dead, however. There is a lot of fanservice and ecchi moments that do not make it a suitable watch for all audiences. Even if you arent a fan of this type of anime, it may still surprise you with a good horror story. Unfortunately, we may never see a conclusion, as the author of the series, Daisuke Sato passed away this year. His work will never be forgotten, serving as an example of a well-done zombie anime for years to come.

Danganronpa : Hope And Despair Arcs
If you are an anime fan or a lover of survival-type horror stories, you probably heard of Danganronpa, one of the most successful visual novels in Japan. If you havent, the story follows students of the prestigious Hope Peaks Academy, each with ultimate talents that deem them the best in their area. However, there is an insane twist. Students are trapped in Hopes Peak with a killing game being the only way to escape.
Discovering the mysteries of the academy is horrific and really insane, especially when the mastermind is revealed and half of the students die. Although Danganronpa the Animationfeatures the story of the first game, Danganronpa 3 offers two sides, a conclusion to the first two games, and a prequel to the second game. In many ways, Danganronpa Hope and Despair Arcs are more disturbing and really play up the horror element well.
The Future Arc explores the conclusion to the events after the second game. Without spoiling, it involves members of the Future Foundation being pinned against one another in a new killing game. Someone is a traitor who is killing one person whenever they are forced to sleep. There are many creepy, interesting moments and backstories of the Future Foundation leaders revealed. It also ties MOST of the mysteries from the first few games together.
It is recommended that you play Danganronpa 1 and 2 before watching the 3rd anime.

Naruto And Naruto Shippuden
Following the story of young Naruto Uzumaki, both these shows tell stories of a different part of this young ninjas life. Naruto is primarily set during his early years of training to become a ninja. This comes with some ridicule as his immaturity downplays his dreams of becoming the next Hokage of his village. This is also the time when he learns about the Nine-Tailed Fox that was sealed into his body as a baby and what that power means for young Naruto. In Naruto Shippuden, we see a more mature and skilled ninja, as well as details of other tailed beasts’ hosts that are being captured and killed for mysterious reasons.

As his death seems near, eight of the family members gather at an annual meeting to discuss how to divide the inheritance. They are joined by three other family members and five servants. Best Horror Anime To Watch On Crunchyroll
The Halloween season is upon us, so lets break down the best horror and supernatural anime thats available to stream on Crunchyroll.
One of the best things about October is how every content provider gets infected with Halloween madness and succumbs to horror-centric programming. Some networks even curate a full 31 days of scary content to prove just how gung ho they are about this spooky holiday. At this point youve likely already made a checklist for all of the big horror films that are on the horizon and all of the older classics that you need to catch up on. However, if youre still starved for even more horror-based content, then look no further than Crunchyroll and their catalogue of frightening anime.
Whether youre a committed member of the anime streaming service or youve never checked out the site before, its likely that the service will have something that catches your eye. It can sometimes be rather overwhelming to sift through a whole collection of anime, especially when you have no idea whats supposed to be good or not, let alone a series thats actually scary. In order to make your Halloween a little less frightening, weve streamlined a list of some of Crunchyrolls most notable anime seriesboth in terms of horror shows that go straight for the jugular as well as lighter fare that centers around a supernatural premiseto make the experience as easy as possible for you.
Corpse Party: Tortured Souls
Corpse Party: Tortured Souls is a look into the lives of the students of Kisaragi Academy, previously Heavenly Host Elementary, where the gruesome murders of both children and its staff took place. Students there are spending their final moments with a friend who’s about to transfer to another school, and they decide to perform a strange ritual to ensure they’ll always be together. The “Sachiko Ever After” charm is performed, but the students all end up blacking out and waking up at a very strange place: the very same academy all the children and teachers were murdered at years ago. This game-inspired, 4-episode OVA is a quick watch that’s also great for a horror anime viewing marathon, in the company of other fantastic bite-sized horror series and manga that threatens to scare the living daylights out of you.

Theatre Of Darkness: Yamishibai
Theater of Darkness: Yamishibai is a bite-sized anthology series with enough horror fuel to chill you to the bone in a few minutes flat. Each five-minute animated motion comic, inspired by the Depression-era kamishibai storytelling style, has a strange, surreal quality that ranges from unsettling to downright spine-tingling. There are seven seasons currently, each sharing stories based on the urban legends and, well, ghost stories of Japan. One follows a young boy who discovers that his family must put on horrific, garish smiles to stave off the ghost of his great-great grandfather another tells the story of a young girl who suffers from a skin condition that evolves into a hand that keeps a tight grip on her neck, eventually choking her. It’s truly disturbing stuff, but fortunately, if you get too scared, it’ll be over in a matter of minutes.
Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories
An anime based on real-life urban legends is a great way to kick off your Halloween watch party. Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories is an anthology series comprised of five-minute-long episodes. However, dont let the short running time fool you. The series makes good use of its time, serving up scares thatll have you afraid to take a bathroom break.
Each episode opens with a creepy old man in a yellow mask setting up his Kamishibai a Japanese street theater structure at the local park. The children gather around him as he tells various ghost stories and myths using paper figures.
One such creepy story comes from the urban legend of Hachishakusama , a demon who takes the form of a tall woman to abduct children. Featuring similar tales about supernatural beings, myths, and Japanese folklore, Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories is definitely a must-watch between horror flicks.
