How to draw anime eyes? Hmmm When it comes to anime drawing you need to master everything from eyes to legs right?
In this post, you will learn How to draw anime male eyes & Anime Female eyes. I will give you some detailed painting examples for each step you can find on AnimeDrawn other tutorials such as drawing anime face and eyebrows

You will need an eraser and a pencil also paper so make sure you have everything beside you in order to start drawing.
How To Color Anime Eyes
Here you can see the results from using different colors and blending modes. I used the Overlay mode for purple, Vivid Light for yellow, and Pin Light for the blue tones and the pink details. They blend great with the grey layer.
The key is to know where you want to place the grey gradients, the darker areas, and the highlights. Please go back to chapter 4. Styles and greyscale when in doubt.
Try different colors and see which ones are best for the effect youre trying to achieve. In this illustration, I chose two complimentary colors: purple and yellow with pink and blue tints.
Grayscale coloring steps:
In 1, I simply started with the previously created grayscale drawing.
In steps 2 and 3, choose any color you fancy purple, with some blue in my case and try a blending mode that blends well with the greyscale.
In steps 4 and 5, I add some yellow using the Vivid light blending mode.
In step 6, I usually soften the dots a bit, by using the eraser or decreasing the layer opacity.
Finally, in step 7, I just add the finishing touches to emphasize volumes and textures.

Drawing & Placing Ear
The ears will be covered with the hair in the following steps but we will work on placing them in case you want to draw a different hairstyle.

Tutorial: How I Draw Cute Eyes
There are many different ways to draw eyes and obviously I can’t do all of them, so I’ll go over something semi simple
I usually don’t use guidelines, but to make it easier for beginners I’ll include some guidlines and tips.
Basically the only materials you’ll need is a pencil and paper. Optional pen if you want to ink your drawing. I generally don’t ink unless I’m coloring it. Too much work.
Cute Eyes
With ‘kawaii’ type eyes I like making them big and round. Making your pencil strokes generally loose.
These are good for chibi type characters.
For guidelines just lightly sketch two circles. The length between then is maybe one circle length apart.
If you have a hard time lining them up you can draw lines to guide you.
The circles don’t have to be perfect.
Note: Guidelines are a good way to keep eyes symmetrical, don’t be afraid to use them.
Also don’t be afraid to look at refrences.
Outline half of your circles to create your eyelash line.
If you want to be fancy you can be like me at add a lash to it already.
I did a pretty basic bottom lash line. I just roughly put in lines. Nothing fancy.
Once I’m done with the overall thing. I clean it up and add detailes like: stray lashes, eyelid creases, and etc.
Even if it’s not entirely symmetrical it’s okay. Because usually people don’t notice.

I was going to do one for an eye shape I normally do, but I don’t use guidelines for it and don’t know how to implement them. I’ll eventually do a tutorial on it though.

It is helpful to divide the eye creation process into a few steps.
Lets go back and break it down once more and add the coloring process. Let me show you some coloring techniques parting from the grayscale drawing that we already have from the previous part:

Characteristics Of Anime Eyes
Generally speaking, anime eyes are typically big and friendly. Female eyes especially, are larger and look more innocent and friendly than male eyes.
Manga and anime eyes also have an exaggerated amount of highlights. Often there are four or five highlights added to the eye. And sometimes more than that.
Male anime eyes are more narrow, but are still friendly. They can still be exaggerated and larger than standard eyes. But they should be drawn smaller than your female anime eyes.
Anime eyes that do not look friendly will be perceived as a villain or a character that is evil.
