This is a tutorial for drawing and colouring anime/fantasy backgrounds on Photoshop; it would also apply to Painter and Paintshop Pro. I wouldnt recommend it to beginners, although I imagine anyone could learn something from it. Having a drawing tablet is recommended.

Draw The Front Section Of The Hair
To add the hair we will use the drawing approach define in this tutorial:
To summarize it the hair will be split into the forward, sides and back sections shown in red green and blue.
The reason for this is to make the drawing process easier to manage and understand instead of simply seeing things as one big clump of hair.
Begin by drawing the front section of the hair as shown above.
In this case the character will have fairly natural looking somewhat messy hair of medium length.
For hair like this draw it in fairly large clumps pointing in slightly different directions.
Draw An Anime Girl Speed Art

You can learn about the fine details and shading that you have to do in the digital drawing of anime characters. The tutorial also shows you how to color an anime character using digital graphic editors like this Wacom tablet combined with photoshop.

How To Draw A Beautiful Anime Girl Step By Step
This in depth tutorial explains how to draw a beautiful anime girl in 15 steps. In particular it looks at drawing the face of such a character from the front view.
As the title states the focus of this tutorial is on drawing a beautiful female anime character. In anime and manga these often have roles such as the pretty girl at school and may not necessarily be the protagonist. However drawing an anime girl to look beautiful is actually a bit of a challenge as most of them are drawn to be fairly cute by default. To help this tutorial gives a through guide on how to draw and position the head and facial features for a pretty girl character archetype.

Start With A Simple Shirt
Anime clothes drawing will vary depending on how youd like your character to be dressed. For beginners, a simple shirt design is the easiest starting point.;
Around the neck of your character, draw sloping lines downwards and around the neck, leaving a small gap in the middle, to create an open-collar shirt.;
Start with the shirt collar before working on the sleeves or details.
Along the arms, add a light line in the middle where the elbow crease would be, with two slightly curved lines around the wrists for the ends of the sleeves. From here, you can draw a line straight down from the open collar to the waist, leaving an upside down V shape at the bottom. Draw two lines from either side of the hips in to meet the bottom of the V shape to form the ends of the shirt. A few dots up the centerline will give you the buttons.
Buttons and crease lines help to make your clothing appear more realistic.

Add Shading To Finish The Drawing
To finish the drawing you can add some more basic shading to several areas of the face. As in many other tutorials here on AnimeOutline the shading will be done in a fairly generic way. Meaning that the shadows will be added in places where they are likely to occur in common lighting conditions such as a well lit room or daytime outside.
For this type of shading add shadows in the following places:
- Bottom tips of the hair clumps
- On the head
- Around the eyelids

In Japanese, Chibi is slang for someone small and cute. You must have seen the Chibi versions of many of your favorite anime characters. They are basically drawn very small with cute chubby cheeks, stubby limbs, and a giant head. This caricature style is really too adorable to not give it a try.
A few things you need to remember while drawing a Chibi anime is that the characters have the same sized body and similar body shape regardless of the gender, face size, height, body shape, and age of the original design. Getting Ready To Draw Anime Eyes
When most artists start drawing anime, they usually focus on copying a drawing thats already been made. The point of this tutorial is not to make you a great copier, it is to make you a great anime artist.
So in order to become a good eye artist, you have to change your perspective of drawing, and learn this technique.
When drawing the eyes, you need to think of theme as spheres. The general shape of an eye is spherical.
The best way to learn this technique is to think of eyes as oranges. Not the whole orange, but a section or piece of the orange. Think of an orange wedge and how it gets cut. Really visualize the orange wedge now, notice how it makes a semi circle on the outside peel edge. This is the shape that is the basic form of our drawn eyes when we think of it in a 3D space.
Really start to visualize what this looks like when turned into a drawing, check out the diagrams below to understand what this looks like.
In this front view, we see the peel of the orange, the rounded and curved part of the wedge we cut out. From the side, you can see how the orange slice creates a tear shape, this gives you the proportions when drawing the eyes from a profile view.
Lets add some eye lids to this view now. The edges of the of our wedge slice will be the rough shape of our lids on our anime eyes. Unlike the curves of our slice though, we will start adding some straight lines to our eye lids to from the rough shape of our eye.

This tutorial shows how to draw a male anime or manga style male face in 3/4 view with detailed step by step drawing examples.
It can be fairly challenging to make a proper 3/4 view drawing of the head including heads and faces in the anime style.

Start With A Flat Colour When Painting Eyes
When sketching and drawing the eyes, paint the whole iris as a flat colour. It can be the same colour as your sketch brush. Painting the whole iris during the sketch phase will help make the sizes of both irises consistent with each other. It also makes it easier to compare and check whether both irises are the same size or not.
