Drawing An Angry Tough Anime Character
The though girl anime characters tend to be fairly emotional and can get angry easily.
For the angry face draw the eyes a lot more squinted than normal and the eyebrows even lower down.
Draw the mouth open and fairly wide with the bottom being slightly wider than the top.
You can also give her a bit of medical tape on her cheek to reinforce the idea of her active character .
Basic Shapes Behind Anime Eyes
There are many types of anime eyes. Even though they are all based on human eyes, the multiple levels of stylization the artists give them make it quite hard to figure out the structure behind them, so in order to learn, we have first to simplify the eyes into basic shapes.
The three basic shapes are round, rectangular, and triangular. Those shapes should be used as a reference and not as a drawing base.
The eyes lost most of their anatomical details like the waterline and lacrimal but kept the lashes and eyelids, which are simplified in lines and spiky shapes.
The iris also changes its shape from a perfect circle to an elongated oval or an irregular round shape, and the pupil follows the same pattern.
Though there are many anime art styles, the shape of the eyes is always associated with the character youre drawing. For example:
- The rounder shapes are used to portray innocence, youth, positivity, and happiness.
- The rectangular shapes are used to portray responsibility, seriousness, and optimism.
- The sharp and elongated shapes are used to portray maturity and adultness in the character, and some say that most characters with those kinds of eye shapes have experienced hardships.

How To Draw Anime Heads Step By Step
It is possible to refer to the easy step-by-step drawing instructions below.
The first thing to be aware of are the fundamental forms youll need to employ to design the head. Each head begins with a circle. dependent on the person youre drawing, the overall angles and the shape of the head will alter. The head of a young man is round and round. The chin doesnt extend from the top part of the circle. Teenagers have faces that are slightly longer with girls appearing slightly larger and boys having a more square chin. Womens faces in adulthood are slightly larger, while the faces of men who are older are generally larger. The face of the villain is angular and long, and thin.
Step 2Your head can be drawn using a variety of angles. From the front or straight. The 3/4 view occurs an image of the face slightly tilted towards one side. The head is in profile when it is completely turned towards one side. A quarter of the view is the only time we look at the face, perhaps looking into the eyes and perhaps a bit between the ears. Theres also the scene behind the head.
Step 5It is also important to be aware of how you can keep hair at the high on your head, unless of course your persona is hairless or bald, in which case you shouldnt have to be aware of this procedure too much Hair should be full and have your head is bobbing a little. It is not a good idea to leave your hair hanging loose and place it close to your skull. It will appear strange.

In the clean-up stage, we focus on making the foundations look clean and professional. If youre working on paper, draw your rough stage as lightly as you can. To draw an unfriendly looking anime character like this example draw the pupils of the eyes and irises fairly small with the top eyelids covering a good portion of the eye.
Do not add any shadows to the top of the irises . Also draw fewer highlights in the eyes and make them fairly small for an even less friendly look.
Draw the bottom eyelids and the mouth in reverse curves .
Position the eyebrows lower down in wave like shape for a sort of semi-permanent frown.
You can use what is often referred to as a Hime Cut for the hair. As Hime means princess combined with a look like the one above it can reinforce the idea of a stuck up or spoiled character.
