Seven Laws Of The Seven Deadly Sins
There exist seven laws that each member of the group is required to abide by. So far, only five of these laws has been revealed. The laws were created by Meliodas.
- Law #3: “A Sin shall ask no questions of another member’s sin.”
- Law #4: “If a friend is in crisis everybody needs to use all of their power to help.”
- Law #5: “When two Sins are in disagreement they can resolve it with a fight.”
- Law #6: “If two Sins are fighting to the death, the other five must do their utmost to stop them even if it means eliminating the perpetrator.”
- Law #7: “Make sure to come together and work as a team every now and then.”
Merlin: Boars Sin Of Gluttony

The Demon King and Supreme Deity offered Merlin immense blessings to recruit her to their sides of the Holy War. A glutton for knowledge, Merlin accepted both blessings and deceived the gods. Angered by her actions, the gods cursed Belialuin, killing all the capitols inhabitants but Merlin who has an infinite life source.
Merlin’s Sacred Treasure, the Morning Star Aldan, is a crystal orb that acts as a conduit for her magic. Summoning Aldan and using her special ability, Infinity, Merlins spells are everlasting. With infinite magic and endless spells, Merlins power is truly immeasurable.
Shikamaru Nara : It’s A Drag
Possibly the best representation for sloth in any media, Shikamaru wants nothing more than have an “unremarkable” life. Where other ninja train and fight, Shikamaru sleeps. Where other ninja strive to follow in their family’s footsteps or have high ambitions, Shikamaru only wishes to live comfortably with hardly anything going on in his life.
He’ll do his best to get out of any situation that would need his attention and is very nearly a pacifist in his ideology. His ideals do change, however, but only so that he may live life doing whatever he can so that his children can live however they choose to.

Its Based On A Highly Rated Manga Series
The story takes place in a time not unlike the Middle Ages where feared and celebrated Holy Knights ravaged the kingdom, overthrowing the royal family and massing vast armies in the name of war. Young princess Elizabeth fled the royal palace to find a band of outlaws known as the Seven Deadly Sins who she believes to be their last hope. Having been accused of treason, the Sins were scattered across the country, exiled for the past 10 years. Her luck prevails and she slowly stumbles upon the members of the group as the series progresses. With an interesting premise and rave reviews, it seems this manga is the perfect backbone for a hit anime.
Gluttony : Can I Eat Them
Childish and strangely polite, Gluttony displays unique characteristics from the other homunculi in that he doesn’t really have a hatred for humans. More so, he likes them because they are tasty, and doesn’t fully understand that once something is eaten, it is gone forever.
In the anime, this is displayed best when Dante changes Glutton permanently unleashing a mindless, pure version of the homunculus that would even attack his siblings trying to eat them. In both adaptations of Fullmetal, Gluttony displays other characteristics, but the mindless version of Gluttony is possibly the scariest and most accurate representation of the extreme side of gluttony.

The Tragedy And Triumph Of Meliodas
One of the earliest mysteries in “The Seven Deadly Sins” was how Meliodas had become effortlessly powerful. His “Full Counter” ability allowed him to deflect virtually any magical attack, and his skill and speed as a fighter was nearly unmatched. However, he looked no older than a teenage boy and never seemed to age. When he rescued Elizabeth from a trap, his silhouette revealed a monstrous form and later fights revealed the truth: cheerful Meliodas was in fact a Demon.
Not just any Demon, it turns out, but the son of the Demon King, one of the most powerful beings in existence. He abandoned his destiny for the love of the Goddess Elizabeth, turning against his kind in the Holy War, only to be cursed with immortality. The problem with this was that every time he was resurrected, he got closer and closer to his original, demonic self.
When he was killed by his brother Estarossa, he came back more ruthless than before. At a certain point, he declared that in order to break the curse, he would have to become the new Demon King, much to the horror of his friends. The reality is that the Demon King himself had deceived his son into bringing him into the mortal world. Merlin learned Meliodas’ emotions were in Purgatory, and Ben rescued him. Eventually, the Sins came to provide Meliodas support as he defeated his father and returned to his loving self.

Shunsui Kyraku : Laziness In Peak Form
The captain who would rather be drinking and lying down than fight makes for a great representation of sloth. Even just watching a single scene with him will make viewers wonder how he got to his position in the first place. Laid-back, often napping and even talking casually with both colleagues and people looking for a fight, Shunsui embodies a lazy attitude akin to that of Shikamaru from the Naruto series.
Amazingly, the Arrancar Coyote Starrk, a rival in laziness, and Shunsui, fought each other despite both of them being the type to end things peacefully. Shunsui even went as far as to ask Starrk if they could just pretend to fight instead, being the peace-loving man that he is. This captain has usually been seen drinking sake and eating steamed buns rather than participating in the normal duties he would be obliged to do as a captain. A true sloth through and through.

The Sad Tale Of King And Diane
Many characters in “The Seven Deadly Sins” suffered from a loss of memory due to trauma, but it hit King and Diane the hardest. King’s full name was the Fairy King Harlequin, whose job it was to protect the Fairy Forest from intruders. He was attacked and seriously injured trying to save one of his friends, but he was saved by a young giant named Diane.
Diane had left her giant clan because she hated the constant bloodshed, but she was terribly lonely. King lost his memories after being attacked and was content to protect this brave young giant. She and King spent hundreds of years together in a valley and fell in love. Eventually, he regained his memories and realized that Diane was endangered by enemies from his past, so he erased her memories of him. She went back to her tribe.
When both were recruited to join the Seven Deadly Sins, King took on a different form so Diane wouldn’t know it was him. Eventually, she regained her memories and they reunited as lovers. Diane would cruelly lose her memories yet again because of Gowther, but after defeating powerful enemies from their past, Diane regained all of her memories for good. They eventually married and she gave birth an unusual event in the land of Fairy.

Escanor: Highest And Lowest
Escanor was the final recruit of the Seven Deadly Sins, and he would prove to simultaneously be both the strongest and weakest member. A former prince, he was banned from his kingdom because of his strange power that he couldn’t control.
At night, Escanor was weak, frail, and shy. A sensitive man, he often composed poetry. When the sun rose, and with each passing hour until its zenith, Escanor grew stronger and stronger, with his body becoming bigger and more powerful. In this state, he found it hard to control his powers, and his family decried him as a monster.
Meliodas found him while on a formal mission to stop his destruction and eventually talked him into joining the Holy Knights. He even challenged Escanor to a fight, and thought he had accidentally killed Meliodas and Ban after a single punch. Merlin took pity on him and helped him come to terms with his past, while Meliodas forced Escanor to realize that he truly wanted to live.
After the Seven Deadly Sins were forced to go into exile, Escanor became a bartender, hiding his daytime form by wearing loose, baggy clothes. When Meliodas tracked him down, he was grateful to be found, even if it took him a while to get into the swing of fighting again. However, when he used his primary power, “Sunshine,” it produced a blinding heat that could melt anything or quickly evaporate an entire lake.

Rize Kamishiro : A Ghoul With An Appetite
Even if you asked Rize to slow down her consumption, she wouldn’t dare listen. Rize is a bored and attractive woman that will lure in many humans for harvest. She doesn’t care about leaving enough for the other ghouls, and instead will eat to her heart’s content.
This complete disregard for the well-being of anyone else in order to satisfy her cravings is why she is the perfect representation of gluttony. Aimless, feckless, and selfish, she cared only for one thing. This behavior changes in the series, but only after being captured and starved to the point of breaking down. Rize’s end story is tragic and is explored in side stories for the manga, but initially, she was nothing more than a vacuum ready to purge humans and satiate her appetite.

Lussuria : His Name Is Literally Lust
The Varia assassin from Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is a strong representative of lust. Lussuria is extremely flirtatious and openly sexual in his words and behavior. He’s very caring, having his subordinates call him “Big Sis Lussuria,” and even has a gleeful personality. All of this is kept up even while fighting, hardly ever breaking out of his usual smiling self. Many things are left as a mystery about Lussuria, including his eyes, but some things are hinted at, if not confirmed by other members of the assassination team.
Lussuria both claims and denies being an okama, and will flirt with anyone. As each member of Varia represents one of the seven deadly sins, Lussuria takes a spotlight in two ways. For starters, Lussuria is Italian for “lust,” which is already on the nose. If that wasn’t enough, Lussuria’s libido doesn’t stop once someone’s stopped breathing. A truly frightening man underneath those sunglasses and cheeky smile
