Food Wars Season 4 Release Date: The Ride Starts Again Quickly

The Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma Season 4 release date is scheduled for October 11, 2019. Crunchyroll will begin streaming the series on that day.

Although the production of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: Shin no Sara has been confirmed, the number of episodes has not been announced.

On November 25, 2019, the Fourth Plates official website finally listed a Blu-Ray/DVD page, officially confirming the known number of episodes. The box sets only list 12 episodes.

Releasing Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma Season 4 during the fall 2019 anime season meant that the anime production scheduling was hectic. J.C. Staff was working on several big projects in the second half of 2019, including DanMachi Season 2 , the KonoSuba movie, Netflixs High Score Girl Season 2, A Certain Scientific Accelerator, A Certain Scientific Railgun Season 3, Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?, and several other anime.

Things We Want To See: New Fantasy Sequences

Its hard to sell an anime series about cooking. At its core, cooking is not that interesting a thing to watch; its honestly pretty relaxing. So for a shounen anime to be based around the concept that cooking can be competitive and exciting, there has to be a lot to really sell it to us.

One of the things that makes Food Wars special are the absolutely bananas fantasy sequences. They border on pornographic most of the time and are often completely ridiculous, but theyre a huge draw to the show. We cant wait to see more ways that the experience of tasting food will be represented via fantasy in the fifth season.

Why This Is Not Food Wars Season 5: Split

Food Wars! Season 5 Episode 3 release date delayed by ...

Will the real Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma Season 4 please stand up? The last season of the popular ecchi/cooking anime series, Food Wars! The Third Plate, was a bit confusing to some fans since it was one of those rare split-cour anime seasons.

A split-cour is where a single anime season takes a multi-month break before resuming TV broadcasting. In fact, some anime fans are mistakenly looking for news about Food Wars! Season 5 already after the third season aired.

Part 2 of the third season was officially labeled as Food Wars! The Third Plate: Totsuki Train Arc. It finished off with Episode 24 on June 25, 2018, but the real fourth season is called Shokugeki no Soma: Shin no Sara . But the real question is, does the Shokugeki no Soma mangas ending provide enough chapters for animation studio J.C. Staff to serve up another anime helping with a real Food Wars! Season 5?

Food Wars Cancelled After Season 5

The Food Wars season 1 and 2 proved enough to create waves in the whole world of modern animated series. And beyond that, we have seen how Food Wars has even experienced a steady decrease in its quality status but has never lost its charm of savory. No one can actually deny the fact that the most recent season of Food Wars was not as good as compared to the first few seasons. Nevertheless, we have still seen the anime impressing us with its hilarious moments that include the fan service ones and the reactions of the various judges and, of course, the recipes that are capable of making our mouths water.

Well, at this point, after literally binge-watching the whole show twice and thrice, I can say that there are other people like me around the world who are longing for a Food Wars season 6 through thick and thin. Despite all sorts of content that has set out on our way, the people who actually are in love with the series have stuck to all portions of it and would do so till the show finishes its course. Also, if we consider the fact that Food Wars has been on our screens for so long now, one can not help but wonder about how long will the show keep running or if it is even going to come back again or not?

Did Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma conclude in September last year or there is a possibility of Season 6? Many anime lovers are expecting that the creators will work on sixth season although there has been no discussion on it.

What are the chances for Food Wars Season 6? Many anime lovers are on the opinion that the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic is the main hindrance on the renewal and making of sixth season.

However, we don’t believe the above reason valid as it was already announced Season 5 would be the final season for Food Wars. The ending of Food Wars Shokugeki no Soma with the airing of Season 5 was already predetermined and Season 6 was never on the card.

On the other hand, the news that Food Wars was renewed for Season 5 was announced following the fourth season’s finale, but the anime lovers were confirmed during that time that this would be the final installment of the hit series. Thus, there is almost no hope for Food Wars Season 6.

Initially, the anime enthusiasts were quite confident that Season 4 would be the last for Food Wars Shokugeki no Soma. But the release of Season 5 by J C Staff Studio was a big surprise to everyone. It premiered on April 11 this year and completed airing on September 25.

Currently, there are no updates available on the making of Food Wars Season 6. Stay tuned to Devdiscourse to get the latest updates on the anime series.

When Is The Sixth Season Of The Anime Is It Possible

Food Wars! is a really popular anime series. We can see this from the broadcast life that lasts for five seasons. Few anime can have so many seasons in the anime world. For this continuity, success and sufficient popularity are expected in disc sales. Food Wars has a popularity score of 97.9% on our list and the 52nd most popular anime so far, according to Myanimelist. If the source material were enough, we were sure we would see a new season of the anime.

However, as for the anime series, we actually watched an extra Season 5. Season 4 of the series was thought to be final. On October 4, 2019, the animes manga was completed, and it is no longer ongoing. It seems like a difficult omission that we see an extra new season. According to our evaluation, there will not be the sixth season of the series. However, surprises never end in the anime world.

Food Wars Shokugeki No Soma Season 4 Spoilers

The Third Plates train ride may have ended but the Regiment de Cuisine still has a ways to go. Soma Yukihira surprised everyone by stir-frying soba noodles and winning with his Yukihira Style Barley Flour Soba, but that only finishes off the 1st Bout.

The remaining four bouts will pit the rebels against the Central. Soma will be taking a breather at first, while Terunori Kuga faces off against 1st seat Eishi Tsukasa in a wished-for revenge match. Tsukasa actually forgot Kugas name after their first Shookugeki, so Kuga is out to prove hes not just some random face in the crowd thats easily forgotten.

As with past episodes, the cooking will be intermixed with flashbacks that explain the backstory and thus motivations for the chefs. For example, one of the ingredients, a live alligator, manages to escape Rindou Kobayashis hands in the middle of a Shokugeki! She butchers the alligator on the spot and entertains audiences with her rare ingredients expertise.

Without getting into detail, here is a list of the remaining culinary themes that end up being picked via the lottery drawing system.

    2nd Bout

    • Green Tea
    • Chili Peppers
    • Tuna

    3rd Bout

    • Butter
    • Beef
    • Muscovado Sugar
    • Wild Rabbit
    • Spear Squid

The bouts whittle down the ranks of the remaining chefs until only two people are left standing on each side. And, of course, there will be some naughty moments.

Food Wars Shokugeki No Soma Manga Compared To The Anime: Lets Hope The Final Season Isnt Rushed

FOOD WARS SEASON 3, 4 & 5 ON NETFLIX ð¥ How to watch all 5 seasons of Food Wars from anywhere ð

The story of Soma Yukihira, Erina Nakiri, and other characters is based on the Food Wars! manga series by writer Yuto Tsukuda and illustrator Shun Saeki. Started in 2012, the manga series is already up to Volume 35 as of June 3, 2019. Volume 36 contains the mangas ending in Chapter 316 and the final tankobon format book will ship out on October 4, 2019.

The English translation by VIZ Media is up to Volume 32 and Volume 33 is scheduled to release on December 3, 2019.

J.C. Staff aired the first two-cour season of the anime adaptation during the spring of 2015. The Second Plate was a shorter one-cour that aired a year later in 2016. The first half of the Third Plate finished in December 2017, whereas the second half found an ending in the middle of the Promotion Exams story arc.

The second cour of the third season was one of those rare anime where even fans of the manga believe the anime did a better job of presenting the story. Some chapters were skimmed or skipped, but the Regiment de Cuisine matches were reorganized so that concurrent events flowed better in comparison to the jumping around and flashbacks that occurred in the manga.

Here is a guide for how the anime episodes adapted the manga chapters:

With that much source material available, Food Wars! Season 4 maintained similar pacing and adapted the ending of the Regiment de Cuisine arc with a single-cour season with 12 episodes.

Is There Enough Source Material For A New Season

As mentioned above, the Fifth Plate of Shokugeki no Soma consumed the last arc of its manga. Hence, the five seasons of the anime have covered all available manga volumes. The Food Wars! manga series began serialization back in November 2012 and continued to release for a total of 36 tankobon volumes. The last one, Volume 36, came out in October 2019. The first three seasons used large portions of their source material. In fact, the fourth season used around ten volumes for only 12 episodes. In comparison, Season 5 only had the remaining six volumes to conclude the story.

Hence, J.C. Staff has almost no content to create more season of the show. This was one of the main reasons why they canceled the anime. The studio skipped some chapters between seasons, yet, they wont be sufficient to create a full season. Hence, if the studio ever renews Food Wars Season 6, it will have to create original content for the plot.

Who Could Be The Cast Members Of The Show If It Happens

Here, we are sharing a list of notable members of the most hit anime series. The following cast is expected to reprise their roles if the season gets the green signals.

    • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Soma Yukihira
    • Minami Takahashi as Megumi Tadokoro
    • Maaaya Uchida as Yuki Yoshino
    • Ai Kayano as Ryoko Sakaki
    • Natsuki Hanae as Takumi Aldini
    • Kengo Kawanishi as Shoji Sato
    • Saori Oonishi as Hisaka Arato
    • Shizuka Ishigami as Ikumi Mito
    • Bryson Baugus as Takumi Aldini
    • Blake Shepherd as Soma Yukhira
    • Taishi Murata as Shun Ibusaki
    • Jad Saxton as Megumi Tdokoro

As of now, nothing is officially disclosed by the makers whether members will be retained or new members will be on board or not. However, if the series makes a comeback then most probably more new faces might add to the next anime. Although, these are only speculations until and unless we get any official information about the next installment.

Food Wars! Season Two Review (Anime)

The tournament-style in anime has been done many times, but one of the most unique interpretations of this style is Food Wars. The anime, which first aired in 2015, faces characters off against one another in cooking-based tournaments. But much of its popularity comes from its unique story of aspiring full-time chef Soma Yukihira.

With its engaging narrative, odd post-cooking activities, and devoted fanbase, Food Wars is one of the more popular anime series still on the air today. If youre new to the show or planning to binge through the series once again you may be wondering how big a task this would be.
