Spike Chunsoft May Be Focusing More On A New Rpg Releasing In 2022
Spike Chunsoft has started to promote their game under development, Made in the Abyss: Binary Star Falling Into Darkness. This new 3D RPG is predicted to drop sometime in 2022 and will release on PS4, Steam, and Nintendo Switch. As explained on the Spike Chunsoft website, this new RPG is based on Akihito Tsukushi’s dark fantasy manga and anime, Made in Abyss. If the game proves successful, and World’s End Club continues to gain players’ intrigue, perhaps the focus will begin to shift more on promoting these storylines rather than keeping focus on the Danganronpa series.
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
The original title in the Danganronpa series is a kind of a murder mystery but unlike the fun, Saturday night murder mysteries we see in many TV Shows this murder mystery can actually turn into a massacre.
The game takes place in Hopes Peak Academy, a prestigious school that only accepts the Ultimate students. All of these students are brilliant, athletic, have a vast amount of knowledge, and really smart, basically every one of these students is a genius.
Our protagonist, Makoto Naegi, is picked as the Ultimate Lucky Student among the fifteen students. All gathered students are suddenly interrupted by a remote-controlled bear that calls himself, Monokuma.
Monokuma puts them all in his game where all of them are imprisoned for life and for them to leave one of the classmates has to murder another and not get caught.
If the other students identify the real culprit all of them live but the culprit dies and if they identify the wrong one all of them die but the culprit lives!

A video game like Danganronpa relies heavily on the mysterious storyline to move the visual novel along. Though the writers and developers work to balance the right amount of suspense and intrigue for each game, players already know the main gist of the script: The students lose their memories, the world outside Hope’s Peak is a dystopian nightmare, and there’s a mastermind behind it all . Killing Harmony was still able to create a jaw-dropping twist to satisfy fans, but how many fourth wall-breaking twists can players stomach before the trick gets old?

At the end of the game, it’s revealed that there have been a ton of televised killing games. While this would be a bit hard to use as a twist ending again, it does open up the potential for unlimited Danganronpa series. Although there has been no hard evidence, fans on social media have pointed to job postings as evidence another game could come in the next few years. On April 9th, 2020, Spike Chunsoft announced to Famitsu that it would be releasing a lot of new information on “games, goods, tie-ins, monthly commemorative programs, etc.” While the mobile announcement came early last year, many of these promises didn’t come to light. It should be stated that this is all speculation, of course. There is a portion of the fanbase who think that Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony placed a firm cap on the end of the original trilogy. That part of the base has been clear that another entry would only complicate how Kodaka had foreseen the series ending.
