Realistic Wolf 3/4 View
Now we are going to step up our game and play a little bit more with the perspective. We are going to draw our next wolf in a 3/4 view. Let´s begin!
STEP 1: Draw the body
- The first step like we did before will be to draw the body. You gotta draw it in two parts.
- The larger part will be the chest area and the smaller one the hips.
STEP 2: Draw the Back Paws and the Tail
- Once the body is in place drawing the back paws will be the next step. The back paws will be attached to the sides of the hips. Is better, if you divide the leg into parts so you can draw it successfully.
- The tail will be placed on the back of the gluts. You should draw it quite schematically. You will add strains of fur and make it more irregular when detailing the drawing.
STEP 3: Draw the Front Paws
- Drawing the front paws is even easier than drawing the back paws.
- Like you can see on the drawing above the leg is divided into three parts. You can divide it into more parts but I don´t find it necessary as long as you keep it simple.
STEP 4: Draw the Head and the Neck
- Drawing the head is probably the trickiest part. You should draw the neck first so you can establish a good base for your head to sit on.
- When drawing the wolf´s head I will draw the cranium, the ears, the nose, and the jaw as separated parts. Draw them in a simpler way, almost as geometric forms.
STEP 5: Draw the Wolfs Outline
STEP 6: Detailing the Wolf
Indicate Dark Area At Top Of Iris
Make a line towards the upper half of the eye that will indicate the darker area partially created by the shadow and the eyelashes reflecting in the eyes.
You can erase the line overlapping the pupil in the next step. The reason for drawing it all the way though like that is to make sure that both sides match up and that you have a nice and smooth curve.

Add The Outer Top Eyelid Eyelashes
It should be noted that you could stop at step seven of this tutorial and have a perfectly normal anime eye but since the tutorial focuses on female eyes we will add some eyelashes.
The first place you want to add the eyelashes to is the outer corners of the eye. Generally eyelashes sort of fan out around the eyelids so you can draw anime eyelashes in a similar way.
Next add some smaller eyelashes at the inner corner of the eye.
Since the eyelashes are fairly small you can also shade them as you draw them.
There is no need to add any in the middle as these usually tend to point forward and therefore visually sort of just merge into one shape.
Placement Of Anime Ears On The Head
Anime ears tend to be drawn lower down on the head than real ears. One way to place anime ears on the head is to first draw a horizontal line through the middle of the head and then to draw another horizontal line between that line and the chin. Draw the ears between these two lines.
For vertical placement draw a line down the middle of the head and draw the ear a little bit to the side of that line.
If you want to draw smaller ears you can move them slightly down from the top line.
For more stylized or chibi anime heads you can draw the ears even lower down on the head.
For horizontal placement draw the top of the ears close to the bottom of the forehead and the bottom of the ears close to the bottom of the nose.

Finish The Line Drawing
To finish the line drawing add the collar bones and a hint of the clothes. In this case the clothes will be lined with fur to again emphasize the wolf like character.

3. Erase the guide lines of the original circle, leaving a clean outline of the face.
4. Sketch in the hair. Use a long, curved line to outline the hair above the head. Then, use a series of curved lines, meeting in sharp points, to craft the locks of hair hanging about the face. Each lock should be shaped roughly like a narrow, curved triangle. Note that some overlap others.

Position The Facial Features

Draw the eyes just below the the horizontal halfway point of the head. Make the pupils round and with the inner ends of the top eyelids slightly lowered. Draw the top of the pupils slightly covered by the top eyelids and leave some space between them and the bottom eyelids.

Draw the nose to one side of the vertical halfway line of the face. Really you are just drawing the outline of the shadow on the side of the nose.
Position the mouth with the bottom lip between the nose and the chin and draw the mouth itself slightly above it in a fairly wide smile. This is optional depending on the kind of character you want but if you look at photos of real wolves their mouths often have a sort of smile like shape. Like the nose the bottom lip will really be just an outline of a shadow this time cast on the chin.

Draw The Primary Reflection
Draw the main reflection area from the main light source such as an indoor light bulb, a fire, or the sun. You can erase the area of the pupil and shadow that is overlapped by the reflection.
The shape and color of the reflection can depend on the shape and color of the light source. Usually in anime you can simply leave the reflection white and give it a very generalized shape like a circle or an oval.
Add Shading & Finish The Drawing
To finish the drawing add some basic shadow in places where they are most likely to be. You can also add some grey inside the ear fluff to act as both shadows and color patterns of the fur.
