Is The Danganronpa Anime Good

Danganronpa : The End Of Hopes Peak High School

Is Danganronpa: The Animation Worth It?

In my opinion the juiciest of all in the Danganronpa Franchise, but then again I have a bias for anime so you probably decide on your own.

Danganronpa 3: The End of Hopes Peak High school is the original anime in the franchise, it is based on the games but the story is unique to the anime!

The anime serves as an end to the first two games in the franchise, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. The anime is divided into two arcs Future and Despair and the finale is called, The Hope Arc.

The Future Arc tells the story of Makoto and his friends and the Despair Arc is about Hajime Hinata. The Hope Arc ties both the stories and ends the era of Hopes Peak Academy.

Why Is Danganronpa So Popular

Joined: Apr 2017 Posts: 30 I don’t get why there are so many fans of Danganronpa, I have seen it, and I can safely say it’s shit. I know opinions vary, but really why is Danganronpa so popular? It’s a confusing, cluttered series with too many characters, there is no pacing at all, the protagonist is boring, and it’s so edgy and pandering. I haven’t played the games- you can tell me that “i shouldn’t judge it if i haven’t played it” but I really don’t care, I already did my research, and I hear that the games are better than the adaptation but very simular. If you are a fan, I respect your opinion, but please educate me and explain what you find appealing about Danganronpa, cause I sure can’t see what there is to like. Anime ListI love recommendations!
But there’s a teddy with an outtie belly button. That’s kinda cool, right?
Picked no since I haven’t watched it.
I like Danganronpa but it’s really only good for memes.
You already answered your own question. It’s cause of the games, not the anime.

Joined: Feb 2016 Posts: 1543 I feel like the games are way better. The first season was really rushed. I didn’t enjoy it, but I like the premise of the show. I started watching the prequel and sequel and I put it on hold because I just couldn’t enjoy it. I feel as bought I would definitely need to play the games in order to appreciate the series

Yumeko Jabani Is Extremely Lucky & Highly Strategic

Yumeko Jabani became extremely rich from gambling thanks to her great luck and sense of strategy. These traits could also help her figure out who the murderer is and reveal the mastermind behind who initially trapped everyone.

She was observant to the point of detecting tiny details in modified cards with a glance and identifying whether weapons were loaded by testing their weight. Her extreme charisma would also help her get close to people and learn about their true natures, which would further help her identify the murderers.

Shuichi Saihara Rose Above Despair In The End

As with Nagito, Shuichi is a character that is brilliant yet unwilling to stand in the forefront. He feels he hasn’t done enough to be worthy of being called a detective and seems to constantly question himself. He’s also prone to following orders, no matter how absurd. An example is when he performed tricks like a dog for Miu. Beneath all of that was an incredibly intelligent character and one that managed to effectively end the game by rising above hope and despair, abandoning the game by refusing to vote in the end.

It’s The Most Popular Game

GOOD VIBES!!

The second game built on everything that made the first game outstanding, and fans took notice. In forums all around the web, many fans will state the two is a superior game with an obviously larger budget. The anime would most likely sell well just based on this fact alone, and would be easy to merchandise out even further.

A Danganronpa anime announcement would also bring in more attention for the next game.

Mikan Tsumiki’s Medical Knowledge Helped Figure Out Who Killed Whom

Mikan Tsumiki is the Ultimate Nurse, which helped her greatly since that meant she had medical knowledge. She could provide autopsy reports, including details of the state of the body post-death and how bad the injuries were, and she also gave health advice to others. She even successfully revived Kyoko Kigiri after the Final Killing Game, much to the joy of both Kyoko and Mikan’s fans. Her knowledge as a nurse also made her incredibly perceptive of other people’s facial expressions and also figure out whether they are healthy or ill.

The Exact Manner In Which Class 77

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair is an excellent sequel with a massive twist that basically reveals that each and every participant in this killing game was actually part of the Ultimate Despair a terrorist group that was committing atrocious acts all over the world. This was rather hard to believe, given that most of the characters in the game seemed to have a moral compass that would generally stop them from committing such atrocious acts.

However, this act was also explained by the fact that the members of Class 77-B were actually brainwashed by Junko in the most horrid manner possible. The class was forced into watching a hypnotic live stream of their classmate slowly dying as the embers of hope burnt out and were replaced with the unrelenting darkness of despair.

The Story Is Incredible

Most Popular Danganronpa Characters (Updated Version with Kokichi)

Speaking of the story, it’s considered to be much better than the first game. Goodbye, Despair is a much crueler tale, that doesn’t hold back on any of the series thriller/horror aspects. The cast of this game is dropped on a now deserted island with no hopes to escape unless they murder and don’t get caught.

Unwilling to murder each other, Monokuma must step in to create chaos.

The Twist Ending Lost A Ton Of Loyal Fans

Even if you disagree with V3’s negative points, the fandom has already spoken. After beating the game, a ton of fans have written their thoughts online and most of them are negative. In fact, the backlash was extreme on places like Reddit and Youtube. However, some have mentioned that they have accepted the twists more with time.

If a new game every does come, it is likely that those who were disappointed by V3 will not pick it up.

Junko’s Different Appearance Is Noticed By Different Characters

The Junko that appears in the beginning of the story is not really Junko, but her sister Mukuro disguised as her. The game and anime both give the most subtle of hints that there is something off about Junko’s appearance. However, different characters notice between the game and anime.

In the game, the main protagonist Makoto notices there is something off about her appearance in comparison to her model photos. Of course, Mukuro easily throws Makoto off the clue by mentioning that modeling agencies can edit her appearance for magazines. In the anime, it is not Makoto that notices this, but Sakura.

Top Anime: Danganronpa : The End Of Hopes Peak

The series serves as a conclusion to the storyline of Hope’s Peak Academy, the elite school where the Super High School Level Despair, Junko Enoshima, played hostess to a “killing school life” among its students under the guise of the evil bear drag king Monokuma. The story is split up into two chapters: Side: Future and Side: Despair, and is followed by a finale called Side: Hope.

Side: Despair takes place prior to the events of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. Chisa Yukizome begins her job as the homeroom teacher for Hope’s Peak Academy’s 77th Class of Super High School Level students. Meanwhile, Hajime Hinata, a student of the school’s Reserve Course for students without talent, prepares to undergo an experiment to make him the Super High School-Level Hope. What follows is a series of tragic events that lead to the birth of the Remnants of Despair and the realization of “The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History.”

Why Danganronpa 3: The End of Hopes Peak Is Better Than Danganronpa

Hifumi’s Death Is Preemptively Announced In The Game

Hifumi’s death in the game was a little strange. The moment it was discovered, Monokuma made the death announcement. However, Hifumi turns out to not yet be dead and manages to say a little more to his classmates before dying. So despite Monokuma’s announcement, Hifumi was actually unconscious when discovered.

In the anime, the death announcement waits until Hifumi is actually dead. He talks to his classmates, dies, and then the announcement plays.

The Games’ Reveals Are Much Slower

Like most anime that are based on video games, the pacing is quite different. Many fans agree that the anime shows its hand way too fast in terms of a show that is supposed to be a thriller/mystery. One example of this is when the class discovered that they are being broadcast on TV. In the game, the pacing and excitement is much slower. They find the TV, set it up, are confused, try to change the channel, and give the player a real sense of “what is going on?!”

In the anime though, Monokuma shows this reveal for them and explains it.

Kyosuke Munakata Is An Emotionless Analyst

Danganronpa Anime Review

Kyosuke is one of the more driven characters in the franchise, becoming obsessed with destroying Ultimate Despair by any means possible. To do this he forced himself to take emotion out of the equation, trying to look at everything logically. It’s a sound decision, but one that held him back some. He tended to overthink things, looking deeper than was necessary on occasions, glossing over an answer that was right in front of his face. His drive also clouded his judgment at times, such as when he still wanted to kill Makoto despite his innocence.

Another Killing Game Happens In The Future Foundation Headquarters

The Future Foundation is a group of individuals who strive to bring hope back into the world after despair has taken over in the most destructive manner possible. However, this group doesn’t hold a candle to the power of the organization of despair, and this fact is revealed early on in the anime,

The Future Foundation Headquarters becomes the stage for what is stated to be the final killing game by Monokuma himself. The twist in this game is that every member of the game is forced into a deep sleep except for the potential murderer, who can choose to either kill another member of the game or abstain from killing. The latter action ends the game… but things are rarely this simple in Danganronpa.

To make matters worse, there’s an action that players of the game are prevented from carrying out. Failing to carry out this order will lead to said person being poisoned.

Nagito Is A Great Antagonist

Nagito is one of the most controversial cast members, and fans love him. Nagito walks a fine line between being a protagnist and an antagonist and generally makes the game a lot more fun. Nagito’s character is complex, and he doesn’t hide the fact that he’s not all that mentally sound from the cast.

His obsession with hope paired with his extreme luck is a treat to watch.

It Has A Perfect Summer Vibe

The game’s setting is what at first appears to be the perfect tropical island. The backdrops of the game are gorgeous, and the characters are forced to live in vacation styled rooms. While the island vibe doesn’t dominate the entirety of the game, it provides a nice environment for the characters to be isolated in.

This would be a great choice for a spring or summer show.

Kyoko Almost Dies In The Series

GOOD VIBES!!

Kyoko is one of the most beloved characters who appeared in the very first Danganronpa title. Her character went through her fair share of ups and downs but ultimately managed to survive this unholy killing game as she stood side-by-side with Makoto and the rest of the survivors.

However, Kyoko ends up breaking a cruel rule during the Final Killing Game which entailed that she would die if she survived with Makoto up till the fourth killing round. She is poisoned and almost loses her life before a miraculous drug brings her back from the jaws of death by the end of the anime.

Being Left Up To Interpretation

To this day, fans still do not know how much of the ending was true or not. There are theories that Tsugumi could have lied about Danganronpa not being real and that the game is actually set in the same world as the previous two games. However, it is likely that fans will never get answers.

Games being left to interpretation can be great, however the fact that this game left the players with few answers made them come to a lot of negative conclusions. Whatever interpretation the creator wanted, it is lost in the game and can only be seen in interviewers.

Why Riddle Story Of Devil Is Better Than Danganronpa

  • The character motives and being unconventional and fast work extremely well. Danganronpa tried this and only mildly succeeded. Riddle did it so much better.
  • The romantic implications between characters work extremely well versus in Danganronpa. While nothing is ever truly defined, either way, the chemistry Riddle creates is far superior.
  • Riddle also has superior character visuals. Not only are the characters more unique personality-wise, but they are also the same in terms of design. Compared to Danganronpa, theyre amazing.
