Each new Jojo uses their powers to confront supernatural villains throughout time. The series itself is broken into separate parts for each family member across generations.

Wotakoi: Love Is Hard For Otaku
First aired: 2019 | Episodes: 11Where to watch it: Amazon Prime
Hirotaka and Narumi are two office workers who used to go to the same middle school together. So far so normal. But they actually have something else in common they both are terrible nerds, to the point its made it impossible for them to enter a lasting relationship, because their partners just wouldnt understand. Once Narumi and Hirotaka discovers this about each other, they decide to date on the spot. After all, it sounds quite efficient to have someone who will play MMOs with you, who will make sure you wont miss limited edition merchandise and who you can discuss your favourite anime with. But is that all it takes to date?
WotaKoi is such fun because it exemplifies something we all want someone to share our likes and interests with, or who at least understands them. Hirotaka and Narumi enter what at first seems like a relationship of convenience, but thats because they actually dont know how to date and because their time-consuming hobbies get in the way. Its also nice to see a show affirm the joy of having a hobby even as an adult, even though WotaKoi makes its protagonists seem a little too into things.

Your Lie In April Is About A Piano Prodigy Who Loses Their Skill
Your Lie In April doesn’t feature Pokémon, magical girls, or teenagers that kill by writing names in a book. Nevertheless, it’s better than the anime that includes those things because it tugs at the heartstrings just a bit more.
This anime is about a young, talented piano prodigy who, after the death of his mother, loses his ability and motivation to play. It takes the actions of a young violinist to brighten his life and return him to music through duets. Yet, as the title suggests, things are not as happy as that description makes them.
Gargantia On The Verdurous Planet
Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet is a 13-episode anime about the future when almost no humans are left on Earth, and some scavenger ships find a robot named Chamber on the flooded planet.
But Chamber is the robot of young lieutenant Ledo from the Galactic Alliance of Humanity who has been cast away to the planet.
Ledo takes a young girl Amy as a hostage, but he soon realizes that the remaining inhabitants of the planet are not as hostile and evil that he had thought.
This is a beautiful and colorful animated series, which you can easily binge-watch in one sitting, as it is only 13 episodes long. You will enjoy it if you are a fan of Battlestar Galactica or Waterworld.

Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan
A spinoff of JoJos Bizarre Adventure, this is fully the show of Kisibe Rohan, a narcissistic manga artist and side character of that series, who in this show works as a sort of Nick Carrawayesque narrator of supernatural and violent self-contained stories, pulled from his globe-trotting endeavors. Despite its title, it has little connection to Nietzsche its original Japanese title apparently translates, loosely, to Rohan Kishibe does not change, a true enough statement.Watch it if you love:Wuthering Heights The Great Gatsby
Kulipari: An Army Of Frogs
Creator: Trevor Pryce
Cast: Charles Adler, Lacey Chabert, Keith David, Josh Keaton, Mark Hamill, Kevin Michael Richardson, Mikey Kelley
Kulipari: An Army of Frogs is one of those original series you might have missed, but it’s a fun new entry into the realm of animated kids shows. This one comes, perhaps surprisingly, from the mind of former NFL star Trevor Pryce and is based on his novel series. The story itself is a great throwback to classic fantasy/action/adventure tales told through anthropomorphic animal pals, and though it does feature battles and a bit of violence, it’s pretty kid-friendly. Kulipari centers on Darel, the son of a famous Kulipari warrior who dreams of joining their ranks despite his lack of talent. But when the Amphibilands is threatened by the powerful alliance of the Scorpions and the mystical Spider Queen, Darel and his pals must step up if they hope to save their friends, family, and home. Kulipari is a cool new entry in the genre and it’s still early on, making now the perfect time to check it out!

Neon Genesis Evangelion Is One Of The Most Essential Anime Of All Time
While there’s plenty of controversy over Netflix’s new translations of the original anime, this doesn’t take away from the quality and power of Neon Genesis Evangelion and its companion films End of Evangelion and Evangelion Death2 , both also on Netflix.
Evangelion follows young Shinji as he is tossed into the giant mecha known as Eva 01 and he must take on the destructive and mysterious Angels, the name given to extraterrestrial monsters that threaten the Earth. Filled with existential philosophy and heart-wrenching loneliness, this anime is essential.
Fullmetal Alchemist / Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Whether you should watch Brotherhood before working through the original Full Metal Alchemist is a different question entirely, but one way or another, FMA: Brotherhood is worth your time.
Brotherhood is an adaptation that more closely follows the plot of the source material. The original FMA anime deviates from the manga about halfway through, after Hiromu Arakawa requested a different ending for the anime. As a result, Id recommend just watching Brotherhood especially given that the two series tend to cover the same ground in the early episodes.
Differences aside, FMA is well worth a watch regardless. The series covers the journey of alchemist brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric as they search for the Philosphers Stone, in a quest to revive the latters body following a failed transmutation. Its equal parts funny, grim and surprising, as the Elric brothers come to grips with the machinations of the state military and a divided world.
The original FMA is streaming on Australian Netflix now, while FMA: Brotherhood is only available through Netflix in the US.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron
Practically every entry in the long-running Gundam maxiseries is about the human cost of using child soldiers in combat, but Iron-Blooded Orphans makes its metaphors much more explicit. The main characters of this show are members of Tekkadan, a private security firm made up of young kids who are referred to as human debris throughout the series. When they happen upon a powerful weapon , they rise up against their masters and go into business for themselves. Iron-Blooded Orphans pulls no punches, down to the creepy blood-squelching sound effects used when the young soldiers jack in, Matrix-style, to their mecha.
The Epic Tales Of Captain Underpants

Now streaming its second season, the animated series from DreamWorks and Titmouse is an absolute blast for kids of all ages. There are plenty of kid-friendly jokes from beginning to end, but there are also lots of more adult-oriented laughs to be found throughout. This is one series you won’t mind sitting down to watch as a family unit.
The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants follows George Beard and Harold Hutchins, two best friends whove bonded through their love of pranking, comic books and being the thorns in Principal Krupps side. In Season 2, George and Harold must try to keep their grades up in order to go to summer camp! Kaze Ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru
First aired: 2018 | Episodes: 23Where to watch it: Crunchyroll
Any good sports anime will leave you wired with tension, glued to each play and each moment of team bonding. Long-distance track racing however, is not necessarily a sport that makes people dizzy with adrenaline, and so Production I.G., a studio that really knows their sports , takes things down a notch.
Meet Kakeru, a former ace runner who lost his friends and his club due to an altercation in high school. Now a university student, he gets invited to a downtrodden dormitory. It turns out that the dorm houses the involuntary members of a running club, all roped in by Haiji Kiyose, who wants them to participate in the Hakone Ekiden, the most prestigious university relay race in all of Japan.
Its a ridiculous plan, but the series takes you all the way from a group of young men refusing to even entertain the idea to reluctant training and finally, the race. Each of them faces different personal issues, and if theres one reason you likely wont expect from a sports anime, its sobbing like a baby when one of them has a breakthrough. The emotional depth of Run with the Wind is just that great, and its nice to see an anime like this focus on the issues of young men, rather than high school students.
Tiger & Bunny Takes Superheroing To The Commercial Level
This anime is definitely for those who love superheroes. My Hero Academia might not be on Netflix, but Tiger & Bunny is, and it came way before MHA. Though the name is a bit misleading, the series is about a veteran superhero being paired up with a young upstart to help boost his career.
Tiger & Bunny combines a typical buddy-cop narrative with a unique superhero world where heroes fight crime while being televised. Their effectiveness and popularity determine their status and the sponsors who pay them kind of like another certain currently-hot anime series. It brings a lot of interesting ideas to the superhero narrative and has one heck of a twist that is worth the watch.

The Seven Deadly Sins
Netflix got a hold of this popular manga-based franchise and released the first seasons on the platform in 2015. It’s one of the better fantasy sagas on the service with its mythology around the Seven Deadly Sins, a group of knights with pretty infamous pasts, each one brandishing the tattoo of a different beast and embodying one of the… you know. In the 2014 anime series, which Netflix followed by dropping the film Prisoners of the Sky, a princess seeks out these warriors as the last hope of saving her kingdom from usurpers.
Watch if you: Need a new fantasy saga to get sucked into.
One Piece: The East Blue And Alabasta Sagas
Like Bleach, there are many sagas of One Piecenine in totalbut for now, Netflix has the series first two arcs, the East Blue and Alabasta Sagas. In One Piece, we follow the story of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body appears to be made of rubber . Now, hes on a mission to become the ultimate pirate king as he chases after One Piece, the ultimate treasure.
Four seasons are now available on Netflix but it seems like well also get a live-action version of One Piece soon, in addition to the other five sagas.

Kill La Kill Is About A Schoolgirl With A Giant Scissor Blade
If you’re looking for amazing animation, intense battles, and brilliant subversion of anime tropes, look no further than Kill La Kill. Easily one of the greatest fighting anime of all time, the series follows Ryuko, a girl who transfers to Honnji Academy to find the person who killed her father. The story quickly unfolds into several different genres to combine comedy and action for intense and exciting fun.
The main weapons in this universe are clothes infused with Life Fibers. These enhance the wearer with incredible abilities and, in Ryuko’s case, results in an outfit that covers very little. Needless to say, Kill La Kill is definitely not for kids, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome.

Ouran High School Host Club
After finding herself massively in debt, Haruhi Fujioka winds up becoming part of the Ouran High School Host Club: a group of handsome boys, running the gamut of romance comedy archetypes. Cool and stoic, cutesy and mischievous — its all here! Ouran High School Host Club is one of the all-time greats of the shojo genre, but beyond that, its also simply one of the funniest anime youll ever see. Its simply impossible not to fall in love with.
Death Note Is A Brilliantly Crafted Morality Story
Based on Tsugumi Ohba’s popular psychological thriller manga, Death Note follows Light Yagami, a genius high schooler who inherits a mysterious notebook that lets him kill anyone whose name he writes in the book. With the Death Note, Light begins to kill off all of the world’s criminals, but in doing so, comes under the scrutiny of the various police agencies and the brilliant detective, L.
Death Note is a classic anime that should be on every thriller fan’s list of must-watch series. The series poses profound questions about morality, justice, and the meaning of good and evil. It features one of the most unique stories to be found in any anime, and the game of cat-and-mouse played by notable characters Light and L is satisfying to watch from beginning to end.
