Making its anime debut in 1996 and still ongoing, Detective Conan is approaching its 1000th episode, which is quite an impressive feat for an episodic series. It should be said that Detective Conan is generally well-written and watchable, but this is an anime that almost completely ignores its overarching narrative in favor of weekly mysteries.
While the anime has hundreds of entertaining storylines, a lot of Detective Conan‘s content is disposable. Gurren Lagann: The Anti
Gurren Lagann or Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is another series known for its constant state of warfare. The mantra of the series itself is “Row! Row! Fight The Power!” And that’s exactly what Kamina, Yoko, Simon, and the rest of the Team Dai-Gurren are doing for most of the show. First, it was Simon and Kamina against their village, then against the Beastmen, then against Lord Genome, and finally it was the big war against the Anti-Spirals themselves. Gurren Lagann’s war is one of the best because it has no ceiling, the stakes rise ever higher, and the powerups don’t stop at any point.
