Highschool Dxd Season : Whats Taking So Long
We heard it from the sources that the studio, which produced the prior four seasons, will no longer be a part of the anime production. This might be the main reason for the long pause between the fourth season and the upcoming season. However, we dont have any confirmed news as people wanted to be sure about everything else before making any remarks.
The change of studios happened because those who managed Highschool DxD earlier wanted to follow the manga series more closely than the earlier ones.
With the previous stories, the studio started floating away from the manga narrative and basically started producing a story independently. The circumstance gets a bit complex here as the audience loves both the manga and the anime series equally.
The global pandemic might be another reason for the delay. Even if this studio issue gets sorted out, the production team might have suffered the lockdown as many anime productions did.
Recently, some animes like Tsurezure Children and Made in Abyss got green-lit and resumed production. We hope that Highschool DxD team has continued the work too.

Mio and Maria’s true forms, a Demon Lord and a Succubus, have them being attacked because of Mio’s power. Her power has not fully developed yet, so she is unable to fiend off demons by herself who continuously seeks the power she inherited from her deceased father, Demon Lord Wilbert.
Basara has agreed to protect Mio until her powers are fully awakened.

Story So Far Of The Series
The main character of this show is Issei Hyoudou, who is not the pretty handsome type of guy, but a perverted high school student who was killed on his first date. He has his eyes on becoming a herem king and having powers. Unfortunately, this first date turns out to be a fallen angel. Twist starts with the lead coming back to life by Rias Gremory, a school beauty who is a devil. The second season dropped from July 7 to September 22, 2013. This season got divided into two parts the Excalibur of the moonlit schoolyard and the second being the empty classrooms vampire.
This series had the third and fourth volumes of the novel. The third season dropped from April 4 to June 20, 2015. This series had volumes fifth to seventh included in it, and it followed a unique story in this series. However, there were certain problems with the scriptwriter. The fourth season released from April 10 to July 3, 2018, took volume eighth to tenth. This series had lots of work poured in as Passione staff were asked to read all the chapters and keep in mind all the details.
As the production company had changed by the third season, it was a huge responsibility to keep the story in line and have the audiences involved in the story. This Japanese anime made its way to the TV Tokyo satellite channel in 2012, which set up a huge popularity chart on the way. The series has many scenes that have adult scenes that caused many problematic scenarios in many places.
Plot Expectations For Season 5
Season 5 may follow the story of Volume 9 and 10 of the light novel series. So we will be able to see more adventures of Issei and Riaz who may have to fight with the other supernatural factions.

The story is about the all-girls Highschool that gets transformed into a Co-ed school.
