The Future Of Pokemon
Hopefully you enjoyed our list of dominating anime champions! The X and Y series has concluded, and the next show seems to be drastically changing the art style, and may usher in more alterations. With luck, we’ll see even more intimidating creatures in it.Though Pokemon’s show caters mostly to children, it’s still fun for old fans to hear about the exploits of its mightiest monsters. Feel free to cast your vote, and I’ll see you at our next countdown!

Counter now counters all physical moves for twice the damage done to the user. Counter no longer counters a move that hits a substitute. Furthermore, Ghost-type Pokémon are now immune to Counter.
In Double Battles, Counter will hit the last opponent that dealt physical damage to the attacker. Counter cannot affect allied Pokémon.
Pokemon Season : Adventures In The Orange Islands
The Pokemon Company
A lot of Pokemon fans dislike Adventures in the Orange Islands with a passion but I like it so much that it’s actually my sixth favorite season!
The season’s strength is in its originality and willingness to be different from the previous story arcs. Adventures in the Orange Islands stands apart from a lot of the other seasons by not really being set in a region. It’s set in an area called The Orange Islands. It provides a great change of scenery and storyline with Ash not training for a Pokemon League but instead being on a serious mission for Professor Oak with Misty to deliver a mysterious Poke Ball to him.
Unlike most of the other seasons, the Orange Islands arc stands completely on its own, thus is a lot easier to rewatch as opposed to the Johto and Sinnoh arcs which span several seasons.

Ranking The Pokemon Anime Series
The Pokemonanime is about to start season No. 20 later this year, sending Ash and Pikachu on their seventh Pokemon quest. The new Pokemon series, Sun and Moon, will pull Ash away from the Pokemon battlefield and into the classroom as he settles down for a prolonged stay in the tropical Alola region.
For those not as familiar with the Pokemon anime, the show is divided into five distinct series. While Ash and Pikachu are central characters throughout the show, each series features new companions, new challenges, and brand new Pokemon teams.
Since Pokemon Sun and Moon will be on Japanese television in the not too distant future, we feel that it’s a good time to give our definitive ranking of the various Pokemon series.
Johnny Test Made References To Ash Ketchum Squirtle And Shadow Lugia In Their Tinymon Episode
Although Johnnys superhero powers and intelligent twin sisters wont help him become one of the most overpowered cartoon characters, his skills have helped him become a known figure to many during their childhoods. Whether people love or despise Johnny Test, the show wasnt afraid to reference beloved franchises like Pokémon.
In the episode Tinymon, many references to the Pokémon anime and games are spottable. The villain Johnny battles is named Blast Ketchup, whos parodying Ash Ketchums name. Also, Kadoomerang and Screechereen reference Squirtle and Shadow Lugia from Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.

Anime Vs Cartoon Facial Expressions
Another critical feature that we can use to distinguish whether Pokemon is anime or a cartoon is the facial expressions that each character has.
When you look at the Pokemon characters, you can see specific expressions like the massive tear-shaped sweat-drops that appear when a character is embarrassed or stressed. The same distinct faces can be seen when a character blushes or is shocked or angry.
For example, you will see bulging veins on the forehead or the neck when a character gets angry.
Another great example is when a mallet appears from nowhere when a character is angry and hits another character with it. These types of expressions or comic relief in the latter example are very unique to anime.
You will be hard-pressed to find such expressions used widely in western-style cartoons.
You Learn Unexpected Things
If you watch Jormungand, you learn about the realistic lives of arms dealers. And how they travel the world, surround themselves with bodyguards, and end up in dangerous situations.
Not to mention how theyre the reasons wars break out in the first place.
If you watch School Live, you learn about mental health issues like PTSD.
If you watch Little Busters, you learn about a real life condition called: Narcolepsy. A condition that causes you to fall asleep whenever you feel relaxed or happy.
If you pay attention, the anime youve watched have taught you something valuable, useful, or interesting. Making you more knowledgeable in the process.

Pokemon: The Johto Journeys
While technically a part of the original Indigo League series, The Johto Journeys combines the nostalgia of the original series with a smarter and more mature Ash. Ash actually won most of his gym battles in Johto, was a whole lot less annoying, and even stopped permanently releasing Pokemon in favor of letting them train separately for extended periods of time. More often than not, Ash also got along with Misty and Brock, so the Johto episodes had much less bickering than the Kanto series.
The Johto Journeys also marked the end of Ash’s rivalry with Gary, his Pallet Town neighbor and childhood friend. Ash used his Charizard to take down three of Gary’s Pokemon to finally triumph over his heated rival. The pair later rekindled their friendship and even became occasional allies moving forward.
Pokemon Season : Advanced
While The Johto Journeys benefitted from the new creativity a new region brings, Pokemon Advanced also benefitted and then some.
The sixth season of the Pokemon anime saw a total refresh of the visual style of the show. The character designs were now much more modern and the animation smoother. The writing also seemed to have more energy, making this season one of the highest yet.

What Are Ivs & Evs
Pokémon’s stats are not just the base stats that you can find online. Each individual Pokémon also has its own set of Individual Values and Effort Values . It’s a complicated process to explain what these values are, but they’re basically a unique set of values that influence how that particular individual levels up.
IVs are like human or animal genes. They’re inherent to that individual from birth and are basically the unchanging potential a Pokémon has in each of its stats. EVs are like points that a Pokémon earns through various efforts that are applied toward each stat. The amount of EVs in a stat a Pokémon earns affects how much that stat goes up by when the Pokémon levels up.
Pokemon: Diamond And Pearl
If you’re looking for a complete storyline in the Pokemon series, look no further than Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl. The Ash/Paul rivalry is probably the show’s most complete and fulfilling storyline and takes up the better part of three seasons to complete.
Ash met Paul early in the series and quickly discovered they had opposite beliefs in training. While Ash believed in cultivating Pokemon to their fullest potential, Paul only kept the strongest and most naturally gifted Pokemon. This culminated when Paul released a Chimchar for being too weak, leading for it to join Ash’s team.
Through most of the series, Paul defeated Ash handily every time they battled, seemingly proving Paul’s style of training superior. However, Ash’s hard work finally paid off at the Pokemon League when he and Infernape took down Paul once and for all.
Although Ash’s quest to win a Pokemon League fell short once again when he ran into a trainer with a Darkrai in the semi-finals, Diamond and Pearl showed Ash at his finest.

What Are The Cartoons
Although the world cartoon can also refer to short comics, we are going to talk about animated cartoons in this chapter. The original gag cartoons are drawn in a very similar style to animated cartoons, which is why the two terms are used interchangeably. The word cartoon is most often used as a descriptor for television programs and short films aimed at children, usually featuring anthropomorphized animals, superheroes, the adventures of child protagonists or related themes. In the 1980s, the cartoon was shortened to toon, referring to characters in said animated productions. This term was popularized in 1988 by the combined live-action/animated film Who Framed Roger Rabbit, followed in 1990 by the animated TV series Tiny Toon Adventures, which is still amongst the most popular cartoon shows in modern history.
Do People Still Play Pokmon Go
This is a common Tweet reply under Twitter threads about the popular mobile game, Pokémon GO. It spawns from the fact that what felt like the entire world played the game in 2016 before a sharp dropoff of players.
The simple answer is: yes, people still play. Pokémon GO is still one of the biggest games in the world with millions of daily players, ongoing events, and new content.

Pokemon Season : Master Quest
Master Quest may seem like a strange choice for the second best season of the Pokemon anime, but let me tell you why good quality episodes.
Very few seasons featured the sheer number of quality episodes compared to Master Quest. In one season we get several Lugia episodes, an origin story for the mysterious Ho-oh, a fantastic Every episode, a time travel story, Ash and Pikachu swapping bodies, a real encounter with a real Entei, an episode featuring an Unown and a full Pokemon League!
It really didn’t get much better.
Why The Pokemon Anime Is The Most Successful Adaptation Of A Videogame Ever
Game Freak’s marketing juggernaut owes much of its success to its television spinoff. And it’s still going.
Retrospectiveby Kat Bailey, Editor in Chief
My first brush with Pokémon came when I watched an episode of the anime at the behest of my friend. It had been airing for a month or two at that point, having been timed to coincide with Pokémon Red and Blue’s rollout here in the U.S.
“Oh, that’s kind of cute,” I said to myself as I watched Ash Ketchum agonize over his decision to trade his Butterfree for a Raticate. I made a mental note to ask for the game for Christmas. A few months later, I was full-blown maniac for the series.
I wasn’t alone, either. Millions of kids got their start on the series through the anime – easily the most successful example of spinoff media in gaming history. Street Fighter, The Legend of Zelda, and Final Fantasy have all had alternately hilarious and disastrous turns in the cinema and elsewhere, but the Pokémon anime remains an integral part of the franchise’s identity. If you imagine a Charmander saying its name in its high-pitched squeak, then you’re thinking of the anime.
And it’s still going. Nearly 20 years after its debut on Japanese television, OLM, Inc. is still producing episodes and movies that are being translated and aired worldwide. The show has entered the kind of rarefied air occupied by a select few animated shows, including The Simpsons and The Flintstones.

Who Is Ash’s Father
Over the decades, fans have endlessly speculated about the identity of Ash’s father. All that is known is that the protagonist’s parent headed out on his own Pokémon adventure after Ash was born. Although it is not really focused on a lot, one of the reasons Ash set out on his journey was to follow in his father’s footsteps and, perhaps, even meet him in a battle.
Delia, Ash’s mother, is basically a single parent. The anime has yet to reveal the identity of Ash’s father, although it has confirmed that he is a Trainer. Some have theorized that maybe Professor Oak is Ash’s dad, while others have proposed that Ash has a stranger family line.

Pokemon Season 1: Pokemon The Series Xy
With such a big change in style in Season 14, not many fans were expecting another change when Ash moved to the Kalos region. Pokemon the Series XY really upped the ante with not only new character models but an entirely new way for presenting Gym Battles with new computer-generated imagery and sound effects. The animation in this season took another leap forward in quality but unlike previous seasons which normally start off with impressive animation and quickly lower to average after a few episodes, the animation quality in XY maintains a high standard throughout. The plotting and overall storylines are pretty good too!
What Is The Difference
Well, basically there is none. Both the terms analyzed above are used to signify animation and animated series. And while in Japan, the term anime is a general term that can be applied to all forms of animation, be they Asian or Western in style, and is derived from the longer-term animation, in the West there is a distinction. The term cartoon is used to refer to Western-style animation , while the term anime is used to describe animation coming from Japan or drawn in a distinct Japanese style. And that is the whole difference between these two terms.

Has Ash Won A Pokmon League
Ash has proven more than apt at defeating Gym Leaders, but the experienced Trainer tends to struggle when it comes to the Pokémon Leagues. For a long time, it seemed the anime was reluctant to allow Ash to win one of these conferences out of fear the series would have nowhere left to go.
Now, Ash did win the Orange League, but that was not based on the games and only required beating one opponent after the four main Gym Leaders. After falling short at the last hurdle in Kalos’s Lumiose Conference, a Pokémon League Ash should have won, the anime would finally crown its protagonist as the Champion in Alola.
How Old Was Ash When He Set Out On His Adventure
At the beginning of the anime’s run, Ash is stated to be 10 years old, and he is not unusually young for a Trainer. In this universe, it is not uncommon for children to set out on grand adventures that involve catching wild creatures that can breathe fire or hypnotize people. Misty is also around Ash’s age.
Ash’s current age is harder to deduce. The anime has generally avoided addressing the protagonist’s suspended maturity, while different seasons have altered Ash’s design to make him seem older or even younger than when he originally started.

Weekly Pokémon Broadcasting Station is a closely related spin-off series that aired with the beginning part of Pokémon: Advanced Generation. The show was presented as an animated variety show, and showed clip shows, reruns of Pokémon episodes, television airings of the Pokémon movies, cast interviews, and live action footage, in addition to the previously mentioned Pokémon side story episodes. The hosts were Mayumi Iizuka as Kasumi and Yji Ueda as Takeshi . They were regularly joined by Kaba-chan, Manami Aihara, Bernard Ackah and Rex Jones as the comedy team “Shio Kosh”, Megumi Hayashibara as Musashi , Shin-ichiro Miki as Kojir , and Inuko Inuyama as Nysu . The show ran from October 15, 2002, to September 28, 2004, when it was replaced by PokémonSunday.
Whats The Best Thing About The Pokemon Anime
Cilan came off as snooty and Iris is possibly the most annoying companion in the history of the show. The series one redeeming quality was that Ash attempted to rotate more than six Pokemon during his journeys. In addition to Pikachu, Ash rotated through nine Pokemon, although only Krookodile was particularly strong.
