Rumours Of An Anime Adaptation

Solo Leveling AnimeãMMV/AMVã?- Numb The Pain

Whilst fans of Solo Leveling were digesting the series finale last week, rumours began circulating on social media that an anime adaptation had been confirmed.

The confusion stemmed from news that the series would receive a brand-new OST from THE BOYZ.

The announcement was made only minutes after the final chapter was released, with a short teaser video for the upcoming song.

The new OST will release in February 2022, which is expected to run alongside news of the final physical volume going on sale in South Korea.

At the time of writing, no information indicating an anime adaptation of Solo Leveling has been officially confirmed.

You can find a more detailed breakdown of the potential anime project and OST here.

Whos Producing The Anime Version

Solo Leveling-KakaoPage

It seems that the people behind this project are very secretive about the progress of the anime. There has been speculation that Studio Mir will handle the production works. Since the story originates in Korea, fans hope that a company known for producing top-notch animation series like Dota: Dragons Blood and Legends of Korra will supervise it.

However, for someone like me who is already familiar with the webtoon and web novel scenario, I prefer to see Ufotable or Mappa to be in charge of the Solo Leveling anime production. It would be a shame if they cant accurately translate the beautiful arts into a fantastic animation . Sadly, since the manhwa series highlighted some anti-Japanese elements, it is less likely that our prayers will manifest.

Who Will Work On The ‘solo Leveling’ Anime

Shunsuke Nakashige will direct the anime, while Noboru Kimura will come on board as head writer, and Tomoko Sudo will work on the show’s character designs.

Hiroyuki Sawano, who composed the music for Attack on Titan, The Seven Deadly Sins, and Blue Exorcist, will be working on the show’s music as well.

The voice cast for the anime hasn’t been announced, but it’s likely to be revealed for both the Japanese simulcast and a possible English-language dub closer to the show’s release.

Solo Leveling Was Written By Chugong

The sole author of the fantasy web novel, Solo Leveling, Chugong lives in South Korea. So far, the author has only written the Solo Leveling series, however, the series has become a huge success due to their talent.

In addition to Chugong, the series was released on KakaoPage for South Koreans, as well as published by D& C Media. For English speakers, the series can be found on Webnovel and Piccoma for Japanese speakers.

Major Studios Clamoring To Do The Animation

Solo Leveling Sung Jin

Some of the major studios are in demand for handling the animation but the max votes are clearly in favor of MAPPA because most fans feel that it will do justice to Solo Leveling. Once the studio receives preliminary approval for animating it, there will be a fairly long gap before the season will be aired. The best-case scenario would be that the webtoon adaptation will be revealed during the upcoming six months so that Season 1 premieres in late 2022.

However No Official Word On This Has Been Published As Of Yet

Fans are also anxious to learn how many episodes the Solo Leveling anime adaptation will feature. According to reports, the first season of Solo Leveling anime will consist of 12 episodes, with a season 2 following soon after.

According to the reports, the first season of anime would consist of 24 episodes, with the remaining episodes being used in the second season of anime adapted from the manhwa. We cannot, however, foresee everything on our own. This is what our sources say, and well have to wait for the official word.

It has not been officially announced that the Solo Leveling manhwa would be turned into an anime. Though we are confident that we will be able to watch Solo Leveling anime sooner or later.

It would be premature to speculate on a release date. The work has been started in the background, and the anime will be released later this year or in 2022.

What Is Solo Leveling About

In traditional iseaki fashion, Solo Leveling explores a character who starts at the very bottom and climbs their way to the top. In order to take care of his mother, Sung Jinwoo becomes a Hunter — a group of people whose jobs are to kill monsters and demons in dungeon raids. The only problem is that Jinwoo is an E-Rank Hunter — the lowest of the low, with E-Rank Hunters are usually the first ones to die either because the monsters target the weak, or simply because the other Hunters leave them to die.

But things start changing for Jinwoo when he encounters a double dungeon. This double dungeon nearly killed him, but just when he thought he was a goner, he gets a second chance: an offer to become a Player. From then, he participates in a program called the System where he’s required to complete quests in order to ‘level up’ and get stronger. Not only does he physically get stronger, but he also gets additional powers such as the ability to summon the dead.

The Solol Leveling Anime Announcement Was Leaked Ahead Of Time

Before the official announcement, anime news leakers were correctly claiming that the anime production committee will include both Crunchyroll and Aniplex. Whats more, the animation production company will reportedly be Studio A-1 Pictures.

The Solo Leveling anime website sololeveling-anime.net was registered by GMO Internet, the company that handles websites of other A-1 pictures anime adaptations like Sword Art Online.

Additionally, back in January 2022, anime news leaker SPY claimed, Solo Leveling TV anime in production. When SPY was asked if he was sure he simply replied, Yes. SPY does have a history of providing accurate anime news leaks.

Similarly, news leaker Jaymes Hanson was teasing the possibility back in December 2021:

There’s this series, Solo Leveling heard it’s quite popular, I hope it gets an anime production, maybe it started recently, maybe a 2022 release by production *A* Hmm I’m not a leaker tho, just my thoughts, all opinion

JaymesHanson

At the time it was also a believable rumor since the popular Solo Leveling manhwa finished adapting the ending of the web novels story in late 2021. Theres already a Solo Leveling video game and live-action TV drama being developed, so why not an animation project?

Is Solo Leveling Chapter 180 Releasing This Week

Solo Leveling: What Happens After the Manhwa Ends?

Unfortunately, Solo Leveling chapter 180 is not scheduled to release this week, or next week, or ever

This is because chapter 179, released on December 29th, was the final episode for the Solo Leveling series, with D& C Webtoon confirming the end of Jin-Woos story last week.

Have I become unnecessary? Seong Jin-woo has returned to the peaceful world. However, the rulers do not let him go, and in the end he is faced with another choice Solo Leveling 179, via D& C Webtoon .

Solo Leveling started as a web novel in November 2016 and released its 13th volume in 2017, with the English version Only I level up running until 2019.

However, it was the fantastic Webtoon run that truly cemented Solo Leveling as one of the biggest series in the world, beginning serialisation in 2018 and being reportedly being read more than 14.2 billion times!

Is Solo Leveling Story Over

Yes after releasing 179 consecutive chapters, the journey of Solo Leveling has come to an end. In the last chapter, we have seen that the Shadow Monarch has descended on the earth where magic is not a reality. His subordinates from his previous life are living a normal life here and he meets his love interest Cha Hae In and thats where the story ends.

Solo Leveling Has A Lot Of Characters

It’s not uncommon for novels to have a lot of characters, especially if the focus of the novel is world-building and character development. However, as fans see with Solo Leveling, having a lot of characters can make reading tricky if the reader isn’t prepared.

Solo Leveling has upwards of 19+ important characters that are integral to the central plot of the story. And this isn’t including side characters that only show up from time to time in the plot. Naturally, it can be a little tricky for readers to remember every detail in the story taking notes can help a lot when getting through Solo Leveling.

Japanese Animation Issues Dont Dampen Popularity

In Solo Leveling, Japan has been represented as being an antagonistic country. The majority of the villains and other side characters are depicted as being shown Japanese. OK, from other readers perspectives, it may not appear to be too big a deal, however, for the Japanese audiences, it matters. But, the fact is that for a Korean manhwa complete with some rather controversial tones when it comes to the Japanese slant on things, there certainly seems to be a great deal of popularity. This may signal that quality rules quantity, at least in the anime arena. For obvious reasons, Japanese animation companies arent jumping at the chance to animate it because it portrays Japan in an inferior light. And, although many dont feel that a Korean animation company can do the job effectively to animate it, either way, its still predicted to be quite controversial.

Solo Leveling Is A Modern Fantasy Story

Modern fantasy has been a growing genre over the last few decades, especially in the manga industry with titles like A Certain Magical Index and Noragami. Loosely defined as a fantasy story based in the modern world, Solo Leveling is a perfect example of a modern fantasy story manhwa.

Modern South Korea finds itself in a world plagued by monster-spawning portals, called Dungeons. To combat this growing threat, the world has organized organizations called Hunter Guilds, that build up teams of tanks, healers, and other people with special abilities. The story heavily derives its themes from RPGs and fantasy novels, making it perfect for manhwa fans that also enjoy these types of games.

Most of the fans want Solo Leveling to be animated by either Ufotable or MAPPA but considering the anti-Japan elements in the storyline, it doesnt look to be possible at all. The other webtoons that got adapted into anime were all licensed by Crunchyroll, but thats not the case with Solo Leveling.

However, the official details about the production have not been disclosed yet and the publishing company of Solo Leveling webtoon, D& C Media hasnt made an announcement till now but, seems like it will be shared with the fans soon.

Solo Leveling Isn’t Read Like A Japanese Manga

At its core, Solo Leveling follows the common structure of most other manhwa . That is to say, instead of being separated into individual pages, readers will need to continuously scroll down the page to read more.

Of course, this may be offputting for readers used to both Japanese manga and Western comics. In addition, Solo Leveling follows the same style of reading as Western comics, reading from left to right, up to down. Manga readers may want to keep this in mind when they start reading the manhwa.

Solo Leveling Can Be Dark

Like many manhwa of its kind, Solo Leveling isn’t for everybody. Granted, the series doesn’t cross the line of inappropriate nudity and the likes. However, the themes of the novel and manhwa can be very dark at times, as one would expect from monsters attacking the Earth.

Those queasy about gore may want to avoid reading the manhwa, as there are a few scenes that may be disturbing in this regard. On the other hand, for readers that can get past the grim imagery, they will find a story rich with interesting perspectives and character dynamics.

How Many Episodes Will The Solo Leveling Anime Have

Solo Leveling _ how strong do you think they are

The number of episodes for the Solo Leveling anime has not yet been announced. However, based on the manhwa comic series , its likely that the first season will be multiple cours.

A cour is a three-month TV broadcasting block based on the physical seasons, usually composed of 10 to 13 episodes.

Since the Solo Leveling comic series is already finished, its also possible the first season could be a complete adaptation rather than continuing with a Solo Leveling Season 2. In that scenario, lets just hope the Solo Leveling anime is a split-cour anime for the sake of the production schedule and animation quality.

A split-cour is where a single anime season takes a multi-month break before resuming TV broadcasting. Recent examples would be Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 3 and Spy x Family Part 2.
