It’s a question that’s undoubtedly crossed your mind at one point or another in your life, and one that comes to dominate much of the protagonists’ in O Maidens in Your Savage Season. As affecting as an emotional drama as it is a coming-of-age comedy, O Maidens in Your Savage Season is a disarmingly earnest and beautiful story of a group of young girls embarking on their own personal and perilous journey of adolescence into adulthood. The humor is clever without tripping over into egregious raunchiness, and the respective arcs of protagonist Kazusa Onodera and her friends are well-written and relatable. O Maidens in Your Savage Season may slip under the radar when compared to some of the more prolific anime series to premiere this year, but it undoubtedly deserves mention among this years best.

The slice-of-life anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is one of the best anime after 2000s. It is initially published as a light novel in 2003, which was adapted into anime in 2006. Before releasing the anime, there had been already a large number of fans of the light novel. The first season of the anime never bored them by broadcasting the stories out of order, which were not chronological.

Why You Should Watch
Almost from the opening scene, I had realized I was watching a completely different show than I had conceived in my head. Yuri!!! On ICE is a spectacularly animated comedy at a level to be expected from MAPPA, the sister studio to Madhouse. In the recent Japanese trend of making you care about sports you never thought twice about outside of the Olympics suddenly, figure skating is a fascinating sport.
And can we talk about the figure skating scenes in the show? The animators want to make sure you dont miss a single frame. Every move is taken directly from real-time figure skating, or at least I assume thats what they did. Every scene appears to triple axels right out of their animations cels. This level of animation is not only present in the skating scenes, but also in the normal slice of life interactions. this gives the show has two modes of animation: high quality figure skating and in-your-face cartoonish super deformation. The show can flip a switch in an instant where two characters will be having a serious conversation and seamlessly transition into a goofy face to make a caricature of the emotion theyre feeling. Its very unique and strange, but it works.
You will also hear the best opening theme of the Fall 2016 season. Seriously, Im listening to it every time!

One of the most anticipated anime films of all time, Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0, Rebuild of Evangelion is the fourth film in the Evangelion Rebuild series. The film will be the final film in the series and is a sequel of Evangelion: 3.0 released on November 17, 2012.

Anime Year In Review: The Ten Best Shows Of 2016
Looking back at the year in anime, its been a pretty eclectic mix. Weve had some very highly anticipated adaptations, some ambitious original stories, and even a few unexpected revivals of seemingly long-abandoned franchises . If anything, 2016 has showcased how flexible and creative the medium can be: weve had shows featuring zombie fighting, lexicography, concert bands, mafiosos, superheroes, professional figure skatersthis year we watched a Taiwanese fantasy puppet show and called it anime, for gods sake.
Narrowing down the top ten was, as always, a unique challenge, and, as always, Ive left off quite a few of my favorites. But enough excusesread on to see what made my list for the best ten TV anime series for 2016.
The Best Anime Of Fall 2016 Are All About Gore And Sparkles
From figure skating to guys getting their head chopped off, we have it all.
The Fall 2016 anime season is now fully underway, and some shows have already emerged on the top tier. Mob Psycho 100, One Punch Man, and Attack on Titan, to begin with, are must-watch television for all anime fans. Whatâs great about the 2016 anime season is that thereâs something to satisfy everybodyâs particular tastes. Specifically, the two best anime of this season that can deliver to a range of anime fans is Kouta Hiranoâs Drifters and Sayo Yamamotoâs Yuri!!! On Ice.
Kouta Hirano created Drifters in 2009. Itâs a fantasy, alternate history manga/anime with dark animation. Shimazu Toyohisa is transported to a different world following the Battle of Sekigahara. He joins a group of other great warriors known as âDrifters,â who are engaged in this sort of civil war battle with another group of great warriors called the âEnds.â The show has an endless amount of gore and violence. You can almost always expect somebody to get their heads chopped off. But, the characters can be humorous at times â providing some type of release from the constant blood and fighting. The standout character is obviously Shimazu, whose bloodlust is reminiscent of Rurouni Kenshin, a swordsman who is often playful and fun, but get them into a battle and they will kill you with no remorse.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba
The advent of a shockingly quality anime surprised anime fans all over the world in 2019. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is adapted into an anime from the manga by Koyoharu Gotoge, which was serialized on the Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016. The first season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba with 26 episodes was welcomed by both fans of the manga and people who had not read it.
The anime is set in the Taisho period in Japan where demons exist with human beings. The main character Tanjiro Kamado finds his family is killed by the attack of demons and only his sister Nezuko is changed into a demon. He decides to become a demon slayer to restore her to a human.
This anime includes every important part for an excellent anime from the main characters purity and growing to friends with the spirit of brotherhood and respect for any characters. The battle scenes between demon slayers with swords and unique demon characters are intense, which is beautifully drawn. Each characters past and background including even demons is respectfully depicted in this anime.
It is followed by the sequel story Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train released in October, 2020. This anime has not completed yet, but it is safe to say that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will grow to represent the best anime in Japan and around the world.

Fall 2016 Anime Guide: 10 Must Watch Anime Series This Season
New season means new anime shows are coming to town! Here is a list of anime series that you should watch out for in fall 2016. Some of them are familiar titles making a comeback while others are new concepts that are full of potential.
1. “Haikyuu!!: Karasuno Koukou VS Shiratorizawa Gakuen Koukou”
It’s Karasuno and Shiratorizawa showdown. “Haikyuu!!” season 3 will feature the 5-set match which will determine the representatives of the Miyagi prefecture. Hinata and Kageyma bow to defeat the third best ace of high school volleyball, Ushijima. However, Ushijima is not the only person to watch out for in the Shiratorizawa team and Tsukishima is actually making a large contribution in the game.
2. “Trickster: Edogawa Ranpo Shounen Tanteidan Yori”
Set in the 2030s, Kensuke Hanasaki of Boy Detectives’ Club met a boy with an undying body, Yoshio Kobayashi. Yoshio desperately wanted to die but all his attempts to commit suicide are for naught. Kensuke vows to fulfill his wish and says he would personally kill him if he joins the club and the two will solve mysterious cases with the Boy Detectives’ Club headed by Kogorou Akechi. However, a dark fate awaits the two.

J.C. Staff is continuing to adapt Bell Cranel on his quest to become the greatest adventurer. Bell has undergone many hardships in the Hestia Familia and is starting to gain the respect he deserves. DanMachi Third Season is projected to air during the summer 2020 season.

Udon No Kuni No Kiniro Kemari
Initially, I thought that this anime would be the udon version of Shokugeki no Soma. But that doesnt seem the case to me after watching a few episodes.
Somehow, this anime feels more like promoting Kagawa prefecture instead of focusing on the udon restaurant business.
Sure, the anime is different from what I expect. But at least it gives me this warm and fuzzy feeling after watching this anime.
And it doesnt look bad at all.
Erased / Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi
Tenth on the list this year goes to Erased, the seinen thriller that made waves last winter. Following Satoru Fujinuma, a down on his luck twenty-something who is thrust into the past in order to prevent a tragic event from his childhood involving his classmate Kayo Hinazuki, Eraseds suspenseful storytelling had me hooked from the first episode to the last. The ending felt abrupt and, to be honest, didnt really work for me, but the first ten episodes of the show, which deal with Kayos narrative, along with the very polished execution as a whole, were powerful enough to kick this show into my top ten over other contenders.

Midnight Occult Civil Servants

Only the most fortified of civilizations have survived this turmoil, as is the case with the island of Hinomoto, where mankind has created a massive wall to protect themselves from the endless hordes of Kabane. The only way into these giant fortresses is via heavily-armored trains, which are serviced and built by young men such as Ikoma. Having created a deadly weapon that he believes will easily pierce through the hearts of Kabane, Ikoma eagerly awaits the day when he will be able to fight using his new invention. Little does he know, however, that his chance will come much sooner than he expected.

His And Her Circumstances
His and Her Circumstances, also known as Kare Kano, tells the love story of two seemingly perfect students that are secretly extremely flawed individuals. Yukino Miyazawa thrives on admiration and privately calls herself a queen of vanity. She meets model student Soichiro Arima, who starts to take attention away from her, and is immediately determined to bring him down. Arima finds out her secret and blackmails her, revealing a different side to himself.
They form a friendship and eventual romance. Together they learn to be more comfortable with their true selves and accept who they really are, at least with each other.
The personalities of the offbeat, two-faced main characters and the unique ways they handle their problems sets His and Her Circumstances apart from other shoujo romances. The romance in this anime also feels realistic and authentic. As a warning, the anime does end abruptly, and youll have to switch to the Manga to continue the story. But the 26-episode Anime is worth seeking out for the unique, fluctuating animation styles balancing the humor and drama of this character-driven love story. Chastity Vicencio, senior video producer
Sweetness And Lightning / Amaama To Inazuma
This is the second year in a row Ive been able to put a show about cooking in my top ten for the year, a trend a foodie like me can only hope continues. Sweetness and Lightning is a poignant series that follows the culinary adventures of a single father trying to feed his young daughter wholesome meals after the recent death of his wife. Though the premise is inherently a bit of a downer, the tone of the series is, for the most part, as light and fluffy as Tsumugis voluminous hair. The shows light touch with its characters and tender portrayal of how love is shown though cooking is nothing short of heartwarming, and earns it a spot on this list.
