Luffy has inspired many shonen anime fans, sharing many characteristics with other shonen main characters. However, some things about him still make him unique.
Shanks And The Straw Hat
Luffy inflicting the scar on his face.
When Luffy was 6, Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates stationed themselves in Foosha Village. While they were there, their sniper Yasopp frequently told Luffy that he had a son his age named Usopp. Luffy wanted to join the Red Hair Pirates, and after they had been in the village for nearly a year, he stabbed himself under his left eye to prove he was tough enough to be a pirate.
Luffy and the Red Hair Pirates then went to the Partys Bar, where Luffy continued to get Shanks to let him join them unsuccessfully. He found the Gomu Gomu no Mi in a chest and ate it with his meal, not knowing what it was. As he did this, the mountain bandit Higuma and his gang entered the bar and demanded sake. The bartender Makino informed them that the Red Hair Pirates had consumed all the sake available, and when Shanks offered him the last bottle, Higuma smashed it against his head. Shanks only responded by cleaning up the mess, and Higuma abused him some more before leaving. Luffy was outraged that Shanks did not retaliate, and Shanks grabbed his arm when he tried to leave, causing it to stretch. The Red Hair Pirates realized in shock that Luffy had eaten the Devil Fruit they took and revealed to Luffy that he would never be able to swim for the rest of his life.
Shanks loses his left arm while saving Luffy.

Easily Convinced By Law
When the Straw Hats arrived on Punk Hazard, little did they know that they would run into Trafalgar Law, who had become one of the Shichibukai. Law decided to make an offer to Luffy.
Law asked Luffy to form an alliance, and Robin informed her captain that pirate alliances don’t always end well as there are a lot of betrayals. Hearing this, Luffy asked Law if he would betray him, and he replied no. Luffy felt immensely proud after Law’s answer and once again showed how gullible he is.

Gear Second Combined With Gear Third
Before you come at me with pitchforks, I personally do not even count this as a legit form of Luffy. But there was this one fight with Gecko Moria where Luffy used this form so, Im going to use that excuse to add this form as Gear two point five.
During the big battle with Gecko Moria and Luffy, Luffy was not able to take the upper hand against Gecko Moria with his Gear second only. He had to pull out the big guns and combine Gear Second with Gear Third to compensate for his lack of speed in Gear Third and lack of huge power in Gear Second.
After combining both forms, we see a pinkish Luffy with giant fists covered in Armament Haki. He uses this form to absolutely demolish Gecko and get the victory royale. But this happened when Luffy was not able to control his powers fully. So, this power took a huge toll on Luffy and he was exhausted and hurt for a very long period. We can safely assume that this form will never be seen again because, after the two-year time skip, Luffy can now use these forms even in his sleep.
Japanese Anime One Piece To Air Its 1000th Episode In 80 Countries
Cartoon series, starring Monkey D Luffy, started life as a manga in 1997 and is a record seller as a comic book
Two decades after the Japanese cartoon series One Piece introduced the world to a swashbuckling pirate in a straw hat, anime fans are awaiting this weekends release of the 1,000th episode.
One Piece first appeared in manga form in Japan in 1997, with an anime version following two years later.
Since then the franchise has become a global cultural phenomenon, smashing records and winning fans around the globe. Nonetheless, it wasnt an immediate hit.
Its a miracle, Ryuji Kochi of Toei Animation, the Japanese company behind the anime series, said of the 1,000-episode landmark. From the beginning, it was a tough title. It was not easy to place on the TV, he said, adding that creating a fanbase for the show was not easy either.
Kochi said it had taken 13 years for the anime, following the adventures of hat-wearing hero Monkey D Luffy, to reach cult status. Today, however, hundreds of millions of fans tune in to watch the hunt for the eponymous One Piece, the treasure coveted by all pirates. The popularity of the manga version has also endured alongside the TV show.
Its creator, Eiichiro Oda, holds the Guinness world record for most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author 490 million. The 1,000th episode of the anime series will be released in 80 countries over the weekend.

Edward Elric’s Love For His Brother Would Resonate With Luffy
One Piece’s Paramount War saga gave fans a glimpse of how much Luffy loves his brother, for whose sake he went to the impregnable prison Impel Down and then invaded the headquarters of the Marines in Marineford. Luffy even gave up his lifespan just so he could try and save Ace. Edward Elric’s love for his brother is quite similar just like Luffy, Ed would sacrifice anything for Alphonse. The two would thus have a great understanding of one another and hit it off as best friends.

He Always Changes His Outfits
A handful of shonen protagonists have changed their outfits throughout the seasons. But Luffy has had the most outfit changes, mainly due to the anime’s length and the locations he visits.
From the Alabasta deserts to Wano Country, Luffy had to adapt to every country’s climate. He’s worn robes, gladiator costumes, and even a tattered kimono. Regardless, Luffy’s iconic straw hat is always incorporated in his outfits, remaining tied around his neck or sitting firmly on his head.
He Gets Attached To People Quickly
Luffy attaches himself to people too easily, despite the Straw Hat members’ advice. It doesn’t take long for him to ask the person in question to join his crew, even if it makes little to no sense at the moment.
This “method” is how Luffy gets Brook and Jinbe to join his crew, though his crewmates initially opposed it. He’s a good judge of character and knows when he likes a person, even if others may seem wary. But it doesn’t take long to get attached.

He Has A Habit Of Singing
It’s pretty rare to hear a shonen protagonist singing whenever they’re bored. Even though their voice actors may have released a song or twoNaruto, for examplethe protagonist never sings on their own.
Even before meeting Brook, Luffy has had a habit of singing to pass the time. He could be walking through the forests of Skypiea or walking through a traditional village, but he seems to love belting out whatever tune comes to mind. It’s an odd but remarkable fact about Luffy.
Why The Mother Of Luffy Didnt Appear When She Is The Empress Of The Island If She Is Alive As They Say
Lets get back to the past of Boa Hankock when she was 12 years old, in that time Hankock and her 2 sisters were in the Kuja pirates ship which was led by the impress of Amazon lily island which is of course the mother of Luffy and again Oda did it, he didnt show us her face you can see it in the video.
When they toke Boa Hancock with her 2 sisters and slaved by Celestial Dragons the island empress hated the Celestial Dragons and as a result, she wanted to revenge on her people but at the same time, she knew that she cannot do anything so she decided to join the revolutionary army in order to reach her goal.
Oda said before that, when Dragon and his mother gave birth their child Luffy, Dragon was 36 years old and he already created the revolutionary army thats why the mother of Luffy is not who created the revolutionary army with Dragon as some people think
How she know that there is something called the Revolutionary army? Neyon was always read news actually they were know everything happens in the world because of the newspaper so thats how she knew that and as another proof the old woman appeared holding a newspaper and said that Luffy hit a Celestial Dragon
So because she hates Celestial Dragons she decided to join Dragon and if you notice most of the revolutionary army members had a bad past with Celestial Dragons.
