Other Cowboy Bebop Characters
The Cowboy bebop trailers have revealed a number of other smaller characters from the anime, most of whom seem incredibly accurate to their original versions. Villains like Maria Murdock , Teddy Bomber , Abdul Hakim , and Mao Yenrai are all returning along with less dangerous characters like Jets old partner Detective Chalmers , Anas assistant Gren , and Big Shot TV show hosts Punch and Judy . A few of those characters have received changes, like Mao being swapped from a man to a woman, Gren now being openly nonbinary, and Teddy Bombers absurd teddy bear suit now covering his face.
Vicious henchmen Shin and Lin are also back, played by Ann Truong and Hoa Xuande, and Jan Uddin and Lydia Peckham will play renegade criminal couple Asimov and Katerina Solensan. Most of these characters are barely seen in the Cowboy Bebop trailer footage, but they all seem in line with the spirit of the original anime versions, both in terms of their costumes and their roles in the story. Theres still a lot Netflix hasnt revealed, but so far, the Cowboy Bebop cast looks fantastic, not to mention loyal to the original anime series.
Fullmetal Alchemist And Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Not quite as cerebral or surreal as other shows in this list, FMA is a tightly wound high-fantasy series that has garnered several generations of fans. A bit of explanation: Full Metal Alchemist takes a turn halfway through that changes the story vastly from the series source material, while Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a more strictly adhered-to adaptation of the original books. Most FMA acolytes think the latter is far superior, but both are excellent. Telling the story of Edward and Alphonse Elric, brothers who survived a traumatic magical accident now hoping to right their mistakes of the past the show explores themes of filial piety and the ramifications of global war.

Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan
A spinoff of JoJos Bizarre Adventure, this is fully the show of Kisibe Rohan, a narcissistic manga artist and side character of that series, who in this show works as a sort of Nick Carrawayesque narrator of supernatural and violent self-contained stories, pulled from his globe-trotting endeavors. Despite its title, it has little connection to Nietzsche its original Japanese title apparently translates, loosely, to Rohan Kishibe does not change, a true enough statement.Watch it if you love:Wuthering Heights The Great Gatsby

Re: Zero Starting Life In Another World
Speaking of one of the modern anime trends, you cannot avoid the genre of Isekai anime where the characters are sent to the parallel world from their daily lives. Children of the Whales plays with the idea of a postapocalyptic world racked by ecological disaster, this time as a global desert instead of an ocean. Its 12 episodes explore what happens when the Mud Whale encounters another island with very different beliefs, and the conflict that follows. Avatar: The Last Airbender / Legend Of Korra
All seasons of the Avatar series are now finally on Netflix, although both have been available in Australia through different streaming platforms previously. Still, its nice to have it all in the one place, particularly as Legend of Korra was a bit of a pain in the arse for a while.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is genuinely superb, right up there with Star Wars Rebels for kids animated series that become genuinely awesome for all ages by the end. Legend of Korra takes the story several decades forward into the future, moving on from Aang and his crew and examining bendings new role, what a post-Hundred Year War looks like, and the complexity of solving societal problems that cant be resolved with bending at all.
Avatar The Last Airbender
This show was recently added to Netflix, and within days it was number one on viewership. Avatar The Last Airbender is absolutely fantastic. It has a diverse cast, truly amazing character arcs, and a story that captures audiences years later.
There’s plenty to love in this series, and the influences from Japan and China are obvious throughout this series. Anime or not , it is undeniable that this show is 100% worth watching.
Fall in love with Aang and the gaangyes, they do call themselves thatas they help Aang master all four elements and become a fully realized Avatar and save the world.

Netflixs Tomb Raider Anime Will Unify The Timelines Of The New And Original Games
The Tomb Raider anime series currently in production at Netflix and Legendary Television will serve to unify the Tomb Raider timelines, its executive producer says. The series will pick up after the events of the modern Survivor trilogy of Tomb Raider games and show how Lara Croft became the self-assured and iconic hero she was in the opening of the first Tomb Raider game, which just turned 25 years old.
The Tomb Raider anime series will provide fans like you and me around the world with some of the first steps toward unifying the Tomb Raider timelines, as we transition beyond the Survivor trilogy and start to follow Laras journey leading up to the first steps of that first Tomb Raider game, says executive producer and writer Tasha Huo.
Part of that awesome task is about bringing together pieces from the different Tomb Raider eras, including some of Laras friends and allies, she explains. Huo reveals that series veteran Earl Baylon will reprise his role as Jonah Maiava in the anime, and Allen Maldonado will be voicing Zip, a tech expert who has appeared in several Tomb Raider timelines.

Soda Pop is a calm slice-of-life movie reminiscent of the work of Makoto Shinkai . Visually, its really bright and eye-catching, but what will really make you watch it till the end is the slowly developing affection between Cherry and Yuki. Cherry, nicknamed after his last name Sakura, Japanese for cherry blossom, is a shy teen who can only express himself using haiku. Yuki is a streamer popular for her smile, but she becomes massively insecure when she gets braces.
A chance encounter between the two has them spend a summer together around a typical Japanese mall, and the more they get to know each other, the more each wants to bolster the others self-confidence. Its awkward and super-duper cute.
Violet Evergarden Is Beautifully Animated And Written

The story follows Violet Evergarden, a Doll and former soldier, as she attempts to reintegrate back into society after a war and find her purpose in life.
Violet Evergarden features beautiful art and animation, a compelling story, and well-developed characters. The series avoids devolving into over-sentimentality and remains well-paced throughout. At its core, it’s about figuring out one’s purpose in life and how to relate to others, but the world-building and characterization work together to extract every ounce of meaning from the material.

Fullmetal Alchemist / Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Whether you should watch Brotherhood before working through the original Full Metal Alchemist is a different question entirely, but one way or another, FMA: Brotherhood is worth your time.
Brotherhood is an adaptation that more closely follows the plot of the source material. The original FMA anime deviates from the manga about halfway through, after Hiromu Arakawa requested a different ending for the anime. As a result, Id recommend just watching Brotherhood especially given that the two series tend to cover the same ground in the early episodes.
Differences aside, FMA is well worth a watch regardless. The series covers the journey of alchemist brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric as they search for the Philosphers Stone, in a quest to revive the latters body following a failed transmutation. Its equal parts funny, grim and surprising, as the Elric brothers come to grips with the machinations of the state military and a divided world.
The original FMA is streaming on Australian Netflix now, while FMA: Brotherhood is only available through Netflix in the US.
