This celebration took place on April 15, and the fandoms were not the only one who remembered to commemorate it.
The national anime day seems to be quite relevant in the;United States, since cities like;Atlanta, Carolina, Orlando and Nashville;usually have conventions on this date.
However, due to the pandemic, the celebration was a little different this year. But some companies dedicated to this industry did not miss the opportunity to greet their followers.

There are the usual Happy Anime Day tweets coming from a range of different social media teams, however, very few companies seem to be celebrating.
One of the few that is, is none other than . The on-demand streaming service is offering fans the opportunity to have their Twitter profile pictures immortalised in an anime style.
The artist behind that work is Amrit Birdi, a London-based, award-winning illustrator who has produced work for the likes of Disney, Square Enix and Bandai Namco.

What Is The Origin Of Anime Conventions
People have come to love watching anime. A lot of them want to embody their favorite anime characters through cosplays. Because of that, anime conventions are held. The first ever anime convention held was the Comiket. It started in 1975 with about 700 participants from Tokyo. And now, there is a widespread convention for anime all over the world. Most popular destinations include Japan, USA, and UK.

Can I Register Waifu Day
We don’t have an international authority or governmental remit to declare any officially celebrated “national Waifu day”. We only aim to programatically reflect what ‘National Day’ it is based of what The Internet Says It Is. We believe this is much more fun as it reflects the nature of how the most amusing / interesting national days are often created organically and grow based off popular social trends and sharing, as such we don’t add new days to our database unless they are organically observed on social media.
