Where To Read The Fairy Tail Manga
The Fairy Tailmanga series clocks in at an impressive total of 63 volumes, so manga collectors are encouraged to clear up some significant room on their bookshelves for this lengthy story. All 63 volumes are available in English, and there are hardcover omnibuses known as Fairy Tail Master’s Edition that collect four volumes each. The individual volumes can be found on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Rightstufanime and other retailers for around $9.99 each, while the omnibus collections will run about $29.99 from the same providers. Fans can also find the sequel series Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest, though those volumes are still releasing.
A potentially more cost-effective alternative could be seeking out the Fairy Tail box sets, which collect 11 volumes each for between $78-$120. Fairy Tail has been around for a long time before the 2020 PlayStation 4 game. After beginning as a manga serialized in Weekly Shnen Magazine, the fantasy adventure series became a popular anime with 328 episodes spread across a decade. Thats a lot of stuff to catch up on if youre a newcomer looking to get into the game, but its pretty approachable with the way it borrows from shnen and fantasy tropes.
The story stars protagonist Natsu Dragneel, your classic orphan with spiky pink hair and a plethora of magic abilities. Hes a member of the wizard guild for which the series is named, and is on a quest to find the dragon , Igneel. There are plenty of twists and turns along the way as he gathers friends, grows his party, and progresses through his guilds ranks. It feels practically ready-made to be a JRPG, and the game is shaping up to be a wonderful hybrid of the Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter franchises with its own Fairy Tale spin on the formula. The game will feature a brand new original story, but its still worth knowing where the game fits into the larger narrative.

Fairy Tail: Next Generation Isn’t Canon
Might as well get this out of the way firstas a fanfiction, the Fairy Tail: Next Generation series can’t be considered an official part of the story. Though the current volumes boast cover artwork with an uncanny similarity to the original series, it seems there are presently no ties between the fanfiction’s author and Fairy Tail series creator Hiro Mashima. As the internet lights up with buzz about spinoffs, this ongoing series is igniting plenty of questions about what is and isn’t canon. Although it’s not out of the question, it’s largely unprecedented for an unassociated fanfiction to be officially adopted into the canon.
The Series Introduces White Magic
Early in 100 Years Quest, a character introducing herself as Touka arrives in the Fairy Tail guild, claiming she is searching for Natsu, her love interest. But that’s not her real goal. Touka is acting against the Fairy Tail guild, and she can use a type of magic no one has seen before.
Touka can use White magic, which can block the magical abilities of anyone it affects, even powerhouses such as Erza Scarlet and Laxus Dreyar, the lightning dragon slayer. The affected wizards may also become Touka’s unwitting assistants.

Ushi no Koku Mairi : During his fight with Kain Hikaru, Natsu briefly gained possession of Kain’s doll, Mr. Cursey, and utilized its abilities.
- Fire Dragon Slayer Doll: Natsu uses his Fire Dragon Slayer techniques and ignites Mr. Cursey, which, at the time, would need to have Lucy‘s hair, causing the fire to appear on Lucy, herself. Lucy, however, is unharmed by the flames and can use them to her own advantage.

- Secret Attack: Lucy Fire : While Mr. Cursey has been lit with Fire Dragon Slayer Magic flames, thereby causing Lucy herself to become ignited in flames, Happy, holding Mr. Cursey, flies at the target, using Max Speed, causing Lucy to do the same, hitting the intended target with great force.
Natsu releases Igneel’s Magic Power
Igneel’s Magic Power: Through ten months of dedicated training, Natsu became capable of accessing the residual, inert Magic Power of Igneel that was left within him. During this time a draconian tattoo appeared on his arm that served as the physical manifestation of the aforementioned Magic Power. The Magic Power bestowed to Natsu is said to be the manifestation of Igneel’s undying will, however, it is extremely finite, and once it runs out, the user can never utilize its power again.

Alvarez Empire Manages To Tie Up Many Loose Ends But Does So In Largely Disappointing Fashion
The last arc of the main series, the Alvarez Empire story arc has a few weaknesses. The Spriggan 12 gets hyped up as this unstoppable force, yet several of them get wiped out in comedic and unsatisfying ways. This arc stands above others primarily because it does wrap up many of the mysteries which have been around in the series since day one.
However, it does feel somewhat unsatisfying as end series arcs go there arent many final power-ups or incredible battles like fans have become accustomed to by this point. In that respect, the Tartaros arc was arguably far superior.

Battle Of Fairy Tail Showed That The Bond Members Of Fairy Tail Have With Each Other Can Never Be Broken
Smack in the middle of the Tower of Heaven and the Oracion Seis arc is the Battle for Fairy Tail, where the guild owners grandson Laxus Dreyar comes to try and claim Fairy Tail for himself. Though Laxus and his Thunder God Tribe are outnumbered, they give some of the strongest members of the guild a run for their money.

This arc is one of the best in the series for two reasons: the showdown between Laxus versus Natsu and Gajeel and the Fairy Tail symbol during the Fantasia parade. Though this battle of guild members got more serious than any of their past ones, this arc showed that the bond between members of Fairy Tail couldnt ever be broken.

‘fairy Tail’: How Long Will Its Final Season Run
Fairy Tail is all fired up for a comeback, and fans are counting down the days until Team Natsu makes its big return. Soon enough, the magical franchise will come back to television as its final season will go live this October, but fans still have a big question about the comeback.
Seriously, how long is this season going to go on?
For now, A-1 Pictures has kept quiet about how long Fairy Tail‘s final season will last. Recently, rumors have popped up assigning the season anywhere between 25 – 50+ episodes, a fact that has confused fans even more than usual. However, if fans do the math, they can figure out how long the final season should run if A-1 Pictures does the final season justice.
As it stands, Fairy Tail has just over 120 chapters left to adapt in the anime. Traditionally, the show has adapted about two chapters per episode excluding any filler asides, so a well-paced final season would have a minimum of 60 episodes. Of course, the Fairy Tail anime has been known to dabble with filler arcs, so that count could go up.

Tartaros Would’ve Been The Perfect Final Arc
Sure, the Tartaros arc has Erzas worst, most nonsensical fight ever. But setting that aside, its full of some of the best moments in the series. Finally, meeting Grays father, seeing Laxus devotion to the guild and his friends. Wendy going full-on Dragon Force mode and Lucy summoning the Celestial Spirit King.
The entire guild teams up to take on the final villain. Its too bad this couldnt have been the final arc of the series, as it gives us a ton of reveals and pushes the heroes to their limits. The Alvarez Empire is just a disappointing epilogue chapter by comparison to this arc.

Tower Of Heaven Gives Erza Much Needed Backstory To Flesh Her Out
The Tower of Heaven arc allows both the viewer and the guild to learn about the backstory of Erza, the so-called Queen of the Fairies. After a couple dozen episodes of seeing Erza as the strongest person in the room at all times, this arc goes a long way towards showing the cracks underneath her magic armor.
Seeing her backstory with Jellal and how she spent her early years as a slave is heartbreaking, and seeing how hard Natsu and her guildmates are willing to fight for her shows us just how much the guild means to one another.

Official Manga Is Ongoing
If all this “no word yet” and “unconfirmed” stuff has you concerned, don’t worrythere’s still plenty of Fairy Tail to go around. As previously mentioned, there are currently four compiled volumes of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest available from Kodansha. Additionally, there are nine published chapters that have yet to be compiled into volume form. If that still isn’t enough Fairy Tail, fans can also look forward to the RPG game in development at Gust, coming to PS4, Switch, and PC in 2020.
