In this tutorial, you’ll be learning how to make folds look somewhat more ‘natural’. This tutorial works with almost every type of flowing fabric. Approx. Time: 10 mins Feel free to share your work! Drawing Anime Sweat Pants
To draw anime sweat pants again start by drawing the overall shape.
For sweat pants that are fairly baggy that hang down as in the example there will be very few folds. The only major folds in this example will be on the knee of the forward leg as the pants will hang off of it very slightly creating some tension.

It’s typical of people to wear clothes, whether they’re real people or drawn on paper. However, it can be difficult to move past the basics of clothes that lie flat on the person’s body – and it’s made more difficult when drawing girls, as their bodies tend to have a curvature to them and makes the fabric rest differently. You can’t stick to drawing flat dresses forever, so it’s best to learn how to draw clothing on anime girls.

Overall clothes are quite easy. To begin with, draw your piece of clothing so you have the general idea.
Short sleeves are pretty easy, whether you'd want no sleeves, spaghetti strands, short or long sleeves. Just remember if you have sleeves, either short or long, don't forget creases!
For pants, they usually start on the waist so draw the body first and start from that ^^ then, for the crotch, don't draw too many creases so it doesn't look like a camel toe XD it usually helps if you look at yourself through a mirror or some model on the internet because I have troubles with this as well lolol.
Also, if you want a tucked in shirt, just remember where the pant waist is and draw it from there. To make it look flow out of it , draw a part of the shirt over the pants and draw a few creases .
Furthermore, for skirts it depends on how long it is or what material. I drew a general, bland skirt with no design to make it easy.
So, for a short skirt, it's usually fluffy and puffed up . The more it's longer, the more downward it is because of the weight of the fabric
Finally, for jackets just draw a sweater as shown and draw an opening. Don't make it so the jacket is the hugging the waist entirely , draw it flowyand free. The length can either be flowy or straight like the skirt.
Hopefully that helped ^^" if I missed something just PM meand I'll try to explain.

When Is A Character Copyrighted
Any character, that is original is copyrighted by the creator the instance that it is being created. You don´t have to do anything, that character is your creation and therefore it is copyrighted.
But there is a little problem with that. Lets say, you created a character years ago and now this year an anime is released that has a character in it, that look exactly like yours. Now you instantly send a message to the creators of that anime telling them, that this is your character, that you created and this is copyright infringement! Like a mirrical, they actually respond to you telling you to prove it and until you can´t the copyright still belongs to them. And any proof, that you may find will not be enough, because their character hit the public eye faster than yours and no one will believe you. Even if you tell the truth.
And that is the problem with any idea or design based copyright. Proving that is was your idea or design is very hard for a single person. Not for a company though.
Dynamics Of Anime Clothes
As discussed before, you want to make the clothes support the character. Think about Darling In The FranXX anime series.
The character has a very military looking outfit, and when you think about the character. The character is very stiff to the outside world, mysterious, but also very powerful. So the outfit has to support that characters personality.
When you are drawing clothes for your anime character, its not so important to how to draw, but WHAT to draw. Make the clothes support your vision of the character.
When youve decided on the clothes, its time to tackle the dynamics of the clothes. With dynamics, I mean the flow and mood the clothes bring.
How the clothing moves and how it supports other elements in the drawing is essential.
If you think about the picture above, the hair is flowing with the wind, but so is the ribbon and the skirt. So, the whole character is moving as the clothes are moving.
Remember that anime clothes kind of has their own lives. Neon Genesis Evangelion is another brilliant example of how clothes look anime. The suits the characters are wearing fit to the world they are living in and the world supports that kind of clothes. It all works together, world and clothes.
In the image above, I used a strong contrast between the hard metal/gold chain and the sweetness of a ribbon to create this anime clothing come to alive.

Clean Up & Finish The Drawing
To finish the drawing erase the parts of the legs hidden by the foreground part of the skirt and erase the parts of the background section of the skirt hidden by the legs.
You may also notice that the background/inner area is slightly shaded. This area will usually tend to be darker so adding even a tiny bit of shading as in this example can make your drawing stand out a little bit more.
How To Color Anime Clothes
Here are my best tips on how to color anime clothes:
- The transparent fabric should be colored lightly and so that the light shines through the fabric. Keep the shadows light and transparent.
- The heavy fabric should have strong and dark shadows
- A rubber texture should have clear light spots and a strong contrast between dark and light.
- Change the darkness of the shading according to the material of the clothing
- No color restrictions, use any color you like, just make sure it complements the personality of the character
In my example drawing, the character is elegant, maybe even royalty, so the coloring has to match that personality but also the design of the outfit.

How To Draw Anime Skirts Step By Step
This tutorial shows how to draw three types of skirts in two different variations each, normal and blowing in the wind. All of the examples include a step by step drawing breakdown.
Skirts are a very common clothing item in anime and manga, particularly due to them being part of school uniforms. The examples in this tutorial show how you can take the basic shape of a skirt and change it into different styles.
If drawing on paper be sure to start the tutorial in pencil and make light lines as you will need to erase parts of the drawing in some of the steps.
You can darken your drawing by tracing over it with darker lines once finished.
Draw The Back Of The Skirt
In this case the skirt will be drawn lifted in a way that reveals its inner side as its further away from the viewer you can think of this as the background part of the skirt.
The main difference between the two parts is that the foreground section will go over top of the legs while the background will go behind them.
Draw the entire line that defines the background part of the skirt including the parts hidden behind the legs. If you only draw the visible parts you may find that they end up misaligned in relation to one another.

Shirts come in a wide variety of styles, and no wonder – they’ve been around for a very long time. Shirts were worn in ancient Egypt, and one shirt discovered in an Egyptian tomb represents the world’s oldest preserved garment.
The style of shirt pictured in this drawing tutorial is called a polo shirt, golf shirt, or tennis shirt. This style of shirt debuted at the 1926 U.S. Open tennis championship, designed by seven-time champion René Lacoste.
It was designed to allow players comfort and ease of movement. Within a few years, polo players – a game in which players on horseback strike a ball with a long mallet – adopted the shirt for similar reasons. Lacoste remains a leading maker of the polo shirt today.

In this modern era, shirts are also a means of personal and artistic expression.
One example of this is the tie-dyed shirts that emerged during the hippie movement of the 1960s. Inexpensive dyes allowed wearers to customize their clothing with bold colors and patterns.
Other shirts allow their wearers to express their favorite brand names, movies, bands, television shows, products, political affiliations, and more.
Many companies allow individuals to design unique t-shirts for their groups or for personal use.
