Hey everyone! Randomism back again with a kind of, well, scientific blog. I hope you enjoy and there will be two parts to this blog, but note, not two separate blogs, two different parts in the same blog.

Introduction

So, for starters, both boys…

And girls…

Get nosebleeds.

These nosebleeds are always triggered by the person seeing something sexual, for example, boobs , or hot guys.

:point_left: After this a massive nosebleed takes place.

Part 1

So, obviously nosebleeds are supposed to make people laugh. The whole scene is just stupidly funny and entertaining. Adding to the stupidness is the fact that these nosebleeds sometimes squirt out a hell of a load of blood!

Part 2

Okay so, in real life, males get erections when sexually aroused. In anime, guys don’t get this, instead they get nosebleeds. Lemme explain why. Okay so, apparently since anime characters have massive eyes, which are much bigger than human eyes resulting in smaller sinuses and thinner sinus tissue.

Sinus

A sac or cavity in any organ or tissue.

You have many of these sinuses close to your nose, and since they are apparently thinner in anime characters, the sinuses might tear or something, creating a nosebleed. Also their is a rumour that sexual excitement in men causes a rise in blood pressure which might cause a nosebleed.

This was a short blog guys, I hope you enjoyed and tell me what you guys think!

Why Do Anime Characters Have Such Big Eyes

Anime Nosebleed Drawing

Ah, yes. Eyes that take up more than half a characters face. Those big, sparkly saucers that seem endless are a trait most often seen in anime marketed for girls, and started in the 1950s with manga. Some interpretations have suggested that these large eyes indicate a Japanese fixation on Western beauty trends, along with pointy chins and pale skin. But animation historian Nobuyuki Tsugata suggested it was more for the purpose of emotional communication.

From our facial expression, its very easy to express what a person is thinking without verbiage. When youre talking to someone, you might even be subconsciously looking at their eyes for that emotional response. For anime, eyes serve a similar purpose. A simple change in a characters eyes can convey their feelings, he told VICE.

Tsugata also added that emotive psychology could play a key part.

When artists think about making a character or animal cuter, they tend to make the eyes bigger. For anime, the thinking could be similar in order to make the female character cuter, their eyes could be enlarged, he said.

Why Are Anime Always About High Schools

Everyone loves a good teen drama. Since the 1980s, the anime industry has seen an influx of series set in middle or high schools, but in these past 10 to 15 years, shows set in schools have dominated the scene.

A majority of Kyoto animations recent works are actually based in schools, Tsugata told VICE. In the 1960s, TV anime was still watched by elementary school children, and was more family oriented. But in the 1980s, a lot of popular manga got turned into anime, and those manga tended to be based in schools. A couple of notable ones were Urusei Yatsura and Tachi. So the demographics of people watching anime changed to middle and high school students. Production companies made shows that were more relatable for that age group.

In 2017, nearly 70 percent of kids ages 5 to 7 watched anime, making them the biggest consumers of the art form. But 10 to 19-year-olds are the second biggest viewers nearly 50 percent of this demographic watch anime. So it’s a classic example of supply meeting demand a young viewership fuels the setting for many of these shows.

Mangaka Yasuji Tanioka‘s humorous comics from the ’60s are thought to be the trope’s earliest inclusion in manga. Usually, it’s usage is accompanied by a panty shot or when a character looks more attractive than normal. Yuru Yuri‘s Chitose is notorious for getting them whenever she fantasizes about her friends getting together, mainly Kyouko and Ayano.

Some believe that this custom came about because in the past professional fighters made small cuts on the forehead to build up tension and atmosphere during a match.

Probably the authors had the same idea of creating this exaggeration and representing that feeling. In other words, there is no story behind this custom of bleeding your nose because of an excitement in anime.
