Middle school students fought fiercely against one another in a national tournament. Now, 50 chosen representatives return to fight again as high school students! The stage is the U-17 Japanese Representative Training Camp. Middle school students have been invited for the first time to a camp known to produce the best Japanese tennis players. National champions from Seigaku, Hyotei, Rikkai, Shitenhoji… With all the rivals from the national tournament attending, everyone eagerly awaits their reunion. At first, the middle schoolers do not expect much from their high school opponents. However, the training camp is not so easy! Athletes with skills incomparable to those they previously faced and their mysterious coach appear before them. Faced with numerous demanding challenges, can the middle schoolers survive in this meritocratic training camp?
The Legacy Of The Prince Of Tennis
As I mentioned before, The Prince of After School and The New Prince of Tennis manga are the most recent entries in the franchise, being ongoing series and all.
Though, what sticks with me the most aside from the animes weirder tennis attacks is the fact that Musical: The Prince of Tennis , often referred to as TenniMu, exists. Thats right, the original manga was adapted into a manga-musical with its current run having ended in May 2020.
Needless to say, its one of those things that needs to be seen to be believed.
The Prince Of Tennis Announces First New Tv Anime In A Decade
The Prince of Tennis has announced the first new TV anime series in ten long years! Takeshi Konomi’s The Prince of Tennis is actually celebrating the 20th Anniversary of its anime’s original debut this year, and fans might have noticed how the franchise has been returning in recent years with surprise new projects. These have not only included a series of OVA episodes highlighting some of the standout matches of the series, but a brand new, CG animated feature film that helps to bridge the gap between The Prince of Tennis and its The Prince of Tennis II sequel series.
Now the anime will be coming back in proper form with the first new TV anime series for the franchise in a decade. As part of the 20th Anniversary celebration for The Prince of Tennis‘ anime, The Prince of Tennis II will be coming back for a new anime series taking on the U-17 World Cup arc titled The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup. List Of The Prince Of Tennis Episodes
The episodes of The Prince of Tennis anime series created by Takeshi Konomi are directed by Takayuki Hamana, animated by Trans Arts, and co-produced by Nihon Ad Systems, J.C.Staff, and Production I.G. The anime is an adaptation of Konomi’s Prince of Tennis Japanese manga series. The series revolves around a 12-year-old tennis prodigy named Ryoma Echizen, who moves back to his native Japan in order to attend his father’salma mater, Seishun Academy, a private middle school famous for its strong tennis team.
The anime series first aired on the terrestrial Japanese network TV Tokyo from October 10, 2001 to March 30, 2005, airing a total of one-hundred and seventy-eight episodes, which spanned across forty-five DVDs in Japan. In April 2006, an OVA continuation of the anime began to be released on DVD, totaling thirteen episodes across seven DVDs. A second OVA also began being released on DVD on June 22, 2007. It spanned a total of six episodes that are spread across three DVDs, the last of which being released on January 25, 2008. The third and final installment in the National OVA series contains seven episodes spread across four DVDs released from April 25, 2008 to January 23, 2009. The OVAs are animated by Production I.G and Bandai Visual, with the latter also handling the DVD distribution of the OVAs in Japan along with Amuse Soft Entertainment.

If you are a great anime lover, you shouldn’t miss out our one of the best popular sports anime, “Tennis no Ouji-Sama . Tennis no Ouji-Sama, the lead character, Ryoma Echizen, narrates the story, who is already a prodigious player but pushes himself to become the champion. Unlike other anime, this one begins with a mediocre player, but he stays motivated and works hard to become a pro player. It developed controversy among fans when the main character was already the top player yet continued to improve over time.
But you will be delighted with the progression of the story after that. It will leave the audience in wonder how the character would flourish further. As a result, the series quickly became one of the most beloved anime series among people centered on sports in the early 2000s.

What Is The Prince Of Tennis And The New Prince Of Tennis
Takeshi Konomis coming-of-age/sports manga The Prince of Tennis originally ran from 1999 to 2008 before being adapted for anime by Trans Art and Production I.G of Ghost in the Shell fame from 2001 to 2005.
As a result of the manga and animes success, two OVA, one being a longer follow-up to the anime series, were released in 2003 and 2006-2009 by a third studio, M.S.C .
It was with the conclusion of this era of The Prince of Tennis that paved the way for the cutesy The Prince of After School 4-panel parody and a more standard sequel series, The New Prince of Tennis manga and anime series , the latter taking place shortly after the original.
Konomis debut manga-turned-franchise is what hes the most well-known for, and to the mans credit, hes not in desperate need of developing any other project.
Around the same time as the first wave of OVAs, two films were also released.
The first was the standalone anime film Tennis no jisama Futari no Samurai The First Game . The second was a live-action adaptation film based on a condensed version of the originals first season up to the start of the National Tournament arc.
And thats just skimming the surface of the shows live-action material.

Who Is The Prince
The titular Prince of Tennis is a twelve-year old tennis prodigy named Ryoma Echizen whose insane level of skill speaks for itself .
What I found the most interesting about our protagonist upon seeing him in his element was the fact that hestarts out a prodigy.
While this isnt completely out of the ordinary, its still fairly uncommon for sports anime to forego the easier underdog narrative in lieu of a set-up with much less tension.
Rather, Ryomas arc is one of learning to be less arrogant and distant while picking up new skills from his older peers at Seishun Academy.
Ryoma strikes a solid balance between cold, headstrong, and passionate, traits that can be equally difficult to manage when writing non-underdog male charactersor shounen male characters in general. When it comes to shounen, I feel like guys are only allowed to show passion should it be linked to baser instincts or revenge.
However, I never once found Ryoma too mean or unwilling to adapt.
With that said, Ryoma slowly warming up to Seishuns tennis team begins with its stoic captain Kunimitsu Tezuka and friendly teammate Takeshi Momoshiro.

About The Prince Of Tennis
The Prince of Tennis is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Takeshi Konomi.
An anime television series animated by Trans Arts, co-produced by Nihon Ad Systems and directed by Takayuki Hamana, was broadcast on TV Tokyo from October 10, 2001, to March 30, 2005, spanning a total of 178 episodes.
The story centers around Ryoma Echizen, son of the legendary Samurai Nanjiro, who retired very early from his professional tennis career despite his undeniable talent.
At age 12, Ryoma begins attending Seishun Academy Middle School in Tokyo, Japan, and joins its boys tennis team.
The title of the series comes from Ryomas title, The Prince of Tennis, after winning four tournaments back in America before the events of the manga.
