- Snake of the Festival is a powerful Lord of Crimson Realm who leads the organization Crimson Denizens known as Bal Masqué and is contracted to his one-time contractor Yuji Sakai. He is in fact one of the True Gods of the Crimson Realm – known as the God of Creation. Although he has a kind and noble side that he shows to his comrades and subjects he can be cruel – willing do anything to make his plans come to fruition. He also showed wisdom when he acknowledged Yuji’s philosophies and understood them. According to Yuji he is quite talkative when it comes to granting peoples wishes.
- In far past, Snake of the Festival received many prayers from Denizens to create the world for themselves. He answered those wishes by launching the ritual to build a small bounded world called the Great Chained which was to be a living paradise for Denizens on the world. But the process required a great number of human lives to complete, and the ancient Flame Hazes, including Tis and Khamsin, intercepted and disrupted the ritual thus creating the massive distortion that backfired upon the body of Snake of the Festival and sealed him inside the rift between two worlds.

Snake Of The Festival Yuji Sakai
At the end of the second season, Yuji, whom Shana and Kazumi both harbor feelings for, suddenly vanishes on Christmas Eve, only to return with the assistance of a powerful Crimson God called the Snake of the Festival. He is determined to change Shana’s fate as a Flame Haze, revealing that he ultimately chose her over Kazumi.
Is Yuji Sakai Evil
About. In the beginning, Yuji had no villainous traits whatsoever; he was kind, self-sacrificing, compassionate and frequently chewed out Shana for her lack of empathy and borderline nihilism, even being partially responsible for making her a better person. Despite this, he did show a more ruthless side at times.

A brilliant strategist and powerful Crimson Lord, Decarabia was supreme commander of Bal Masqué’s armies during the Second Great War. When Snake of the Festival Yuji, the Trinity, Sabrac, Dantalion, Dantalion’s assistant Domino, and the Crimson Denizen Rofocale travel into the Abyss to retrieve the Snake of the Festival’s body, Decarabia is left in charge of the Castle of the Stars when the Flame Haze Army attacks. He is slain defending the Castle of the Stars against the Flame Hazes, but his actions buy enough time for Haborym’s army to arrive.
Inside The Reiji Maigo
Locked inside the Treasure Tool are two entities. One is “Eternal Lover” Johann, the lover of Pheles who created the Treasure Tool.
The other is an entity referred to as The Silver, a being whose existence dates back to the time when “Chanter of Elegies” Margery Daw was still a human being. “The Silver” was placed inside Reiji Maigo when pieces of the Psalm of the Grand Order were forced inside by “Destructive Blade” Sabrac when he attacked Pheles and Johan.
In later volumes of the novel, it is reveal that the reason that Bal Masqué seeks Reiji Maigo because it is one of the necessary Treasure Tool to bring back their god, the “Snake of the Festival“, the Crimson God with the black flame and silver shadow who is one of the true gods of the Crimson World, and is the founder/true leader of the Bal Masque. “The Silver” and the pieces of the Psalm of the Grand Order were placed inside Reiji Maigo for that purpose.
Sakai Yuji with the power of ‘Sairei no Hebi’, wielding Blutsauger
The “Snake of the Festival” is later reborn and merged with Yuji, whom he honored by telling his subordinates to refer to him as “Snake of the Festival” Yuji Sakai, unlike other Lords who used mythological names of angels, gods or demons. When Yuji first activates the Fzetsu on his own, the presence of the silver flames indicates an omen to The Snake of the Festival’s return into the world.

Based On A Light Novel Series
Since most anime shows nowadays are adapted from their manga counterparts, Shakugan No Shana was also based off its Japanese light novel series written by Yashichiro Takahashi and illustrated by Noizi Ito.
Currently, there are 26 novels published between November 2002 and 2012. The first two volumes were translated into English but the rest were left out of print. While both the anime show and movie were based on the novel, some parts in the film were not present in the series. Despite this, both of them covered most of the important parts of the books.
How Does Shakugan No Shana End
At the end of Shakugan no Shana season 2, Xanadu ends up being created, and everyone proceeds to journey to the new world. After rewatching the entire series, I figured out that Shana actually sabotaged Bal Masques whole plan, but the Snake of the Festival didnt really care. So, in the end, there was an ironic twist.

How Old Is Yuji From Shakugan No Shana
He is about 1516 years of age, and is a first-year high school student. In the anime, he is 5 1/2 feet tall. Before merging with the Snake of the Festival, Yuji usually normally wore the Misaki City Municipal High School uniform, had brown hair and his eyes were of a lighter shade and a more olive complexion.

As the Denizens leave to Xanadu, Sakai Yji parted with Snake of the Festival. The Strategist, holding the essence of;the God of Creation,;gave him a chain-shape key to;Tartaros. At the end, the God of Creation stated he grew fond of Sakai Yji, a mere torch that was willing to allow himself to be used as a tool to fulfill his plan, and even if nobody else approved of his plan, the God of Creation approved it and gives his blessings to Sakai Yji, as they departed to Xanadu.
Later the;Spiral Organ;appeared, gave Yji a crystal containing Unrestricted Spell for bringing back the lost things, grant basic protection for his body and embedding a new Unrestricted Spell into the anti-flame ring;Azure, saying it’s been wonderful working with Yji. Later, Lamies left a last parting gift, naming Yji’s new Unrestricted Spell, Grammatica and ask him to contemplate on the meaning of it.
Now, fully himself, he decided to face Shana and Margery Daw in the final battle, and Sydonay impressed by the boy’s action decided to ally with him and fights Margery Daw. During the battle Sakai Yji activated the green crystal and cast it on Yoshida Kazumi, with the last plea for her to agree. The spell activates and it restored all the destruction caused at Misaki City and healed damaged people although he regretted that dead people cannot be revived.

Shakugan no Shana is a supernatural action romance anime series animated by Studio J.C.Staff. The anime is an adaptation of a popular Japanese light novel series written by Yashichiro Takahashi.
Synopsis: Crimson Denizens are unknown beings that live along with humans in a parallel universe known as The Crimson Realm. These Crimson Denizens can manipulate the Power of Existence that lets them use the life force of other beings as fuel for their own. To maintain the balance between both worlds, Flame Hazes have been appointed by the Crimson Lord.
The story follows Sakai Yuji, a high school student whose only wish is to live a peaceful life. But one day, while walking back home, he found himself in a conflict between the Crimson Realms Denizen. Amid the conflicts, he was saved by a Flame Haze named Shana, a red-haired girl wielding a katana, who reveals that hes been dead for some time and is now a Torch, a human with low Power of Existence.
Who Won In The End
There is always a winner in the end. It doesnt matter what anime series it is. After finishing this brilliant anime series, I was undecided. I had no idea on who actually succeeded with their plan. At the end of Shakugan no Shana season 2, Xanadu ends up being created, and everyone proceeds to journey to the new world.
After rewatching the entire series, I figured out that Shana actually sabotaged Bal Masques whole plan, but the Snake of the Festival didnt really care. So, in the end, there was an ironic twist. The bad guys actually suceeded so they won. Their plan was just altered. Allow me to explain.
As I said before, Xanadus creation came at the expense of all of existence, which included the balance of the human world and the Crimson Realm. Therefore, Shana and the gang were firmly against it. However, towards the end, Shana made alterations in Bal Masques plan to where if they actually succeeded, Denizens could not prey on humans anymore in Xanadu. In the end, Bal Masque got what they want, but the Shana just changed some things in the end.
Besides, the Snake of the Festival didnt really seem to care anyways. As overpowered as he was, he could of defeated all of the Flame Hazes and denied this alteration. But, he let it be and descended into Xanadu with his plan accomplished. The bad guys one that one.

Golden Palm Of Wishful Demands
Voiced by:Chuck Huber
A Crimson Lord and one of Bal Masqué’s generals, he participated in the Ancient War during the Snake of the Festival’s first attempt to build a Crimson Denizen paradise. He fought Chiara and Sale in Egypt when they attempted to delay Harborym’s Western Outlaw Destruction Army. He fights the two again during the battle of Misaki City, where they succeed in severely injuring him. He refuses rescue in order to use his power to prevent Dantalion’s out-of-control, self-destructing Iron Giants from destroying the Mandala Shrine of Ruling Celebration, seemingly necessary for bring about Xanadu’s creation. He loses his life in the process.

Shakugan No Shana Watch Order Guide
As with most school-action romance anime, ones engagement with the series depends entirely on whether the anime resonates with your taste or not. Shakugan no Shana is just another anime with this very same genre combination with a basic shounen plot. Although cliche and the execution are not smart or clean, Shakugan no Shana fits the mood of the genre it is tapping in.
Shakugan no Shana has a predictable plot, just like other anime of its kind. Also, the overused cliche and the typical characters trope are there too, but balanced and engaging battles, plot armors used sparingly somehow make the shows premise believable, and many other aspects are well presented.

Kazumi asks why he returned the letters she wrote to him and Yuji replies that he cannot think of anything to say to her that won’t hurt her feelings .
After encountering and defeating Shana in Misaki City, Yuji restrains her powers using the Tartaros and takes her away to the Seireiden. He and a few member of Bal Masqué then travel to the rift between the human world and the Crimson Realm, the place where the body of the Snake of the Festival is sealed.

What Happened Between Yuji And Shana
We all know that Yuji and Shana got together at the end of the series. However, before we got to see the touching ending, we had to hear Yuji spouting nonsense for the entire second season. Honestly, I dont even know what him and Shana were fighting about to be honest. Shana was obviously right. At first, Bal Masques plan made no sense and put the human world in jeopardy. That meant that his friends and his family could be wiped out if everything went as plan.
Shana tried to tell him this, but Yuji wouldnt listen. It was annoying to be honest. He even tried to say some mess like, Sometimes in love, you have to do something your lover doesnt want. Um, okay? The thing was that. . . . Shana had been a Flame Haze way longer than Yuji even existed. She obviously knew about the balance of the two worlds. Yuji got brainwashed by the Snake of the Festival and spent the whole second season acting like he was enlightened.
Someone should have told Yuji that you dont fight the girl youre in love with. You just dont. He learned that in this epic ending:
Oh my God! Shana said all of that like 100 times during the whole second season and now he wants to act convinced.

After Merging With The Snake Of The Festival
At the start of the third season, Yuji has powers that rival and even defeat Shana’s own powers, as he had reached an agreement with the Snake of the Festival, with the condition that he could keep Shana safe, and at the same time protect the people important to him, in exchange for his cooperation.
When merged with the Snake of the Festival, Yuji gained the ability to use the former’s powers. The color of the flame he possesses is pitch black; and when utilized properly, can effortlessly overpower Shana’s flames .
That is not the extent of his powers, however. When merged with the Snake, his hair turns black and grows extremely long. By using a spell called Dragon Tail added onto him by Dantalion, he can grow his hair even longer, and can even use it for offensive and defensive maneuvers. It was seen powerful enough to split an entire building apart. However, due to its connection to Dantalion, the Dragon Tail became inactive after his death. His armor is later revealed to be Treasure Tool named Bakuyagai which he still keep with him even after living in Xanadu.
Saiki Reis is a technique unique to the Snake of the Festival and Yuji, his one-time contractor. It is a Divine Summoning.
