Himedere & Oujidere Demand To Be Treated Like Royalty

Himedere and Oujidere are two sides of the same coin. “Hime” refers to the Japanese word for “princess,” while “ouji” is the Japanese word for “prince.” These characters don’t have to be actual princes and princesses but tend to act like royalty and they want their love interests to treat them as such.

Noelle Silva from Black Clover is an example of a himedere who’s actually from a royal family, and she demands that everyone treats her as royalty despite being a member of the low-ranking Black Bulls. Notably, Noelle also acts tsundere towards Asta. An example of an oujidere is Ciel Phantomhive from Black Butler. Ciel is arrogant and relies on his servants to do everything.

My Opinion On Funko Pops

Funko Pops! are some of the more affordable figures to collect. Well, that is if you were lucky enough to start collecting when your favorite lines were released. With resell prices of vaulted and hard to find figures reaching up into the hundreds of dollars, this passion can quickly drain your bank account.

Ive been guilty of buying a Funko at an after market-price, but found that patience is a virtue. Deku Battle Im looking at you I was lucky enough to pick him up on a restock rather than fork out the $300 it once cost to buy him. With restocks happening more and more these days, I find Funkos to be much more cost effective than they used to be, but always be aware of vaulting.

The other thing I found with Funkos is that the collecting them can get out of hand fast. With the perception that they are so affordable, youll find yourself swimming in your collection and youll have five or more different versions of the same character…. Deku Battle, Deku Training, Deku with full mask, young Deku, Deku full cowling. The truth is, Funko knows how to get you buying again and when you think you are finally done with a line, they come out with the whole, But wait, theres more. And even worse, they’ll come out with chrome and metallic versions of everything. I do have to say that has to be my biggest pet peeve with Funko.

My Opinion On Licensed Statues

What are the Types of Manga/Anime Genres I Look for?

For consolidation purposes, I am only going to talk about licensed statues in this post. Buying unlicensed statues is a whole different ball-game that required an entire post of its own. If unlicensed statues are something you are interested in, you can read more about them here.

If you are looking for amazing statement pieces that have high-quality and detail, licensed statues are what you are looking for. They look great on display, and while they are very expensive, they are worth every penny.

While I could buy many figures for the price of one statue, I find the quality and dynamic poses of these to be more appealing than the rest on this list. The detail you get on these figures is also top-notch with many including epic dioramas that further help bring the statue to life.

With that said, quality does vary from studio to studio, but there are a handful who’s work I’m continuously impressed by. The top on that list is Figurama Collectors. In terms of customer service, they are the best and their sculpts are phenomenal, so I recommend checking them out first if you are looking to get into statues!

I personally display them in Moducase‘s display cubes, so I know my statues are safe and protected not only from my cats, but dust and the risk of collapsing as well. That said, the display cases are yet another investment that come with statue collecting, so that may be a negative for some of you.

Dance In The Vampire Bund

Deep charisma is an attribute that is also often given to vampires in folklore. Now Mina Tepesis unable to pull off a Lelouch, but you definitely cant deny that the entire series seems to be riding on her personalitys absolute bombastic attractiveness. As for her primary objective, it aint something too outrageous for an anime series.

But the longer the show goes on, the more questions you start to ask. Nonetheless, the series still manages to convincingly show folkloric creatures moving forward in time alongside human civilization probably towards that retirement sanctuary that the news has been raging about.

Of The Most Popular Genres In The Anime Industry

According to MyAnimeList, there are 43 anime

But we all know in reality, only a handful of those genres are popular.

Can you find a good anime within all 43 genres? Of course. But good has nothing to do with popularity.

From my deep understanding of the anime community, there are 6 popular genres in particular. Especially if you look at this from an objective point of view. Instead of basing it off opinions

Food Wars is one of the more unique examples of Shounen.

Think of Dragon Ball Z and then add food to the picture. And you have Food Wars .

Shounens have become famous because of shows like:

  • Dragon Ball Z

And in recent years, because of shows like:

  • Fairy Tail
  • My Hero Academia .

Whenever a new year comes around or comes to an end, youll always find someone talking about a popular series. And 8/10 the anime is a Shounen without question.

Supernatural is usually associated with magic, and even Shounen from time to time.

Either way this is a very popular anime genre you cant escape. And thats not a bad thing. Because a lot of the time theres something new and fresh that comes out of the supernatural genre.

The Ancient Magus Bride is an obvious recent example of this. Along with Rokudenashi and Re:Creators.

Minimalist Cartoon Art Styles

The minimalist cartoon art style is mostly seen in video games, and tend to be used for either liking the overall style, or for time saving!

Since these tend to be more simplistic, they also tend to be quicker to create and most importantly, faster to animate.

A lot of times this cartoon drawing art style is done with the use of vector art. Its also mostly geometric and with clean colors without a lot of details.

For example, there is the video game Thomas Was Alone.

And this character by Pablo Hernández Delgado.

As you can see, there can still be quite a level of detail on this art style, while keeping it pretty minimalistic.

Another example of a minimalist cartoon art style is, for example, using stickmen!

This is a very basic style of art, but it can work pretty well if done properly. Its also one of the first things people draw when starting to learn to draw.

One of the most known examples of stickman done right is the xkcd comics.

My Opinion On Petit Charas

Petit Charas are something I’ve collected in the past, and I still have some from Naruto in my collection to this date. One reason I stopped collecting these readily is because their scale made them difficult to display in my collection. But, I still find myself wanting to buy them on occasion because they are some of the cutest figures out there you can buy.

The main reason I don’t really recommend them anymore, however, is because of their price-point. For what you get, these figures just aren’t worth it in my opinion. For me, WCF’s offer more value for your money, but if you are more interested in the style of Petit Charas, I completely get why you’d purchase them. Still, with a two-pack of these small chibis costing you almost, if not, as much as a Nendoroid, I decided to spend my money elsewhere instead.

Despite this, they are good in quality. I haven’t had an issue with the quality of these figures in terms of their sculpt or paint. They are cute little figures to have, but the price-point for what you get makes me wary to recommend them.
