The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya Ending

how to create a dancing animation – how to make a dancing animation in after effects

If youve never heard of this one and call yourself an anime fan, youre either too young, or youve been living under a rock.

Really, this is the most iconic dance in all of anime, and with good reason. The song is catchy, each of the dance moves are wholly unique, and Haruhi herself carries the performance with the intense charisma befitting of her character. Its no wonder that this dance alone spawned countless covers from fans during the height of its popularity.

Flyers Completely Misled Audiences Regarding The True Nature Of Death Parade

As an anime that tackles the heaviness of existence and what it means to be human, Death Parade has a completely misleading opening sequence. During the opening, Death Parade‘s main cast poses and performs various dances while the insanely catchy track “Flyers” by BRADIO plays in the background. The choreography of the opening animation has been parodied both in fan animations and by actual people. BRADIO themselves also performed a parody of this opening dance that currently sits at over one million views on YouTube.

The Hentai Prince And The Stony Cat Ending

Despite the alarming name, The Hentai Prince and the Stony Cat is really your usual romantic comedy. It follows a boy who loses his ability to tell a lie and a girl who, similarly, cant show her emotions.

This scene from the ending depicts her plight by having both her cheerful and apathetic selves perform a dance routine together. A creative dance that also ties into story elements? Yes, please.

Easy Breezy Got A Lot More Eyes On Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken

@baasamas on Instagram 1M dance

Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! is a relatively easy anime to write off since it’s a slice-of-life series without many bells and whistles to draw eyes to it… except for its opening theme. “Easy Breezy” is a song performed by Japanese rap duo chelmico, and the wacky opening animation paired with it garnered thousands of parodies and memes online. Fanart and fan-made animations of other anime characters dancing to “Easy Breezy” flooded the internet in 2020 when Eizouken! was first released.

How To Draw Anime Characters

Many beginners choose anime/manga as their first drawing style, because it looks very simple and appealing. However, if you want to draw a manga character from scratch, you need to understand the proportions and structure of the body. And if you want to draw anime bodies from imagination, you even need to know human anatomy. So while drawing anime characters is easier than drawing realistically, it’s still not easy!

In this tutorial, I will show you the basics of drawing the bodies of anime characters. I’ll show you how to start a manga drawinghow to define a pose for your character and how to make sure the proportions are correct. Then I’ll show you how to turn this “skeleton” into a 3D structure and how to add muscles to it.

You’ll learn everything you need to know to draw an anime character from scratchthe gesture, proportions, forms, and anatomy. It’s all explained on a beginner level!

Drawing An Average Guy Anime Male Character

The average guy character is usually meant to be someone the viewer can relate to or cheer for. These are often the protagonists of anime shows and manga or the lead male character if the protagonist is a female.

Somewhat messy medium length hair is very common for these types of characters.

To draw a male protagonist character with their normal expressions draw the eyebrows in their natural position and draw the eyes with fairly large pupils/irises.

If you want a friendly looking character draw the mouth with a light smile.

Drawing A Cold Stare Anime Yandere Character

Anime characters dancing compilation that make your day 10x better

The cold stare face is one the yandere character tends to make when her true colors come out. Usually its towards a female rival but can be for anyone she is upset with.

For this type of face draw the eyes very slightly squinted with the bottom eyelids in reverse of their normal cures. Draw the pupils of the eyes very small in relation to the iris with no shadows and small highlights/reflections.

Draw the inner ends of the eyebrows raised and draw the mouth just very lightly open with the top lip raised and revealing some of the teeth.

Drawing An Intellectual Male Anime Character

The intellectual character type in anime and manga does not necessarily mean a shy or weak male character. On the contrary quite often these characters can be both physically though and intelligent. Often these tend to be the school council president or some type of leader.

For the intellectuals normal look draw the eyebrows in their natural state with the eyes slightly narrower than the default character example at the start of the tutorial. Make the irises slightly smaller as well. Smaller/narrower eyes will both make the character look more serious and hint that they may have impaired vision.

Draw the mouth in a light upside down curve to again make the character look more serious.

Anime Character Face Drawing Step By Step

To draw any of the characters in this tutorial you can use the steps in the above illustration.

  • Draw the basic shape of the head starting with a vertical line to help you make sure both halves are even
  • Positioned the facial features as described earlier including the parts that are hidden by the hair
  • Draw the hair
  • Erase the parts of the face hidden by the hair and if you like apply some shading or color

    Drawing A Shy Anime Character

    joongchelkim on Twitter

These types of characters are usually nice and harmless but may be loners due to being afraid to talk to others.

A good hairstyle for this type of character can be the hair over one eye to reinforce the idea of hiding and shyness. But in case you want to draw a different hairstyle both eyes are show in the example below.

You can pretty much draw this character the same way as the ordinary girl but with slightly smaller irises/pupils to give her a bit more of a scared look.

Face Proportions For An Anime Character

The base character drawing proportions used in this tutorial are shown in the illustration above. If youve seen some of the other tutorials here on AnimeOutline you may already be aware of these.

If not the proportions are as follows:

    • Eyes draw a horizontal line directly through the middle of the head and draw the eyes below that line
    • Ears make a second horizontal line between the halfway line and the chin and draw the ears between those two lines
    • Nose above the line used for the bottom of the ears
    • Mouth draw a line between the bottom of ears/nose line to get the position of the bottom lip and draw the mouth just slightly above that

You can draw the eyebrows and eyelids slightly above the eyes.

Please keep in mind that the size and position of the facial features in the examples below will change based on character type and facial expressions.

Also be aware that these are only suggested proportions for making a character look anime. Different anime styles can still have different proportions.

For a more detailed tutorial for each of the facial features see:

Drawing A Loner Anime Male Character

The male loner character can either be shy or socially awkward or may just plain dislike people. These types of characters can be both positive and negative depending on the story.

For the loners normal look draw the eyebrows with their ends slightly raised. Draw the top eyelids slightly lowered and draw the bottom eyelids with wider curves. Make the irises fairly small. Underneath the eyes add a few curved lines to show bags under the eyes .

Draw the mouth in an upside down curve.

Thee combined features will give the loner a somewhat uncaring and unfriendly look.

A yandere is a reverse of the tsundere. A character who appears to be nice and friendly but can actually be quite hostile. The extreme versions of this character can be a downright crazy.

For the yanderes normal face you can draw it exactly the same as you would the ordinary girl with big eyes and a fairly friendly expression.

You can also give her long but slightly more messy hair to give a hint that there may be something off about her.

You may have heard of Fate/kaleid and its magical girl take on the world of Fate/stay night. Regardless of whether youre into this small spin-off for its comedy or for other reasons entirely, the show did feature a cool little dance segment in its OVA.

Though simply a performance for their school festival, these girls pulled out all the stops to impress their audience.

Drawing A Happy Average Guy Anime Male Character

A happy smile can be one of the expressions this type of character is likely to have. Usually this is a look the main male character can give to a character they like such as the female protagonist.

For the happy expression of the average guy draw the eyebrows slightly raised and the eyes slightly squinted. Draw the mouth with a smile. Leave the inside of the mouth white to indicate that its the teeth that are showing but dont actually draw any hint of them, this will make the character look more friendly.
