Naruto: The Most Cult Series To See Absolutely

Best Anime on Netflix Right Now

Among the many Japanese animated series available on the Netflix platform, Naruto is undoubtedly the most popular. The series is considered, with One Piece, the worthy heir of Dragon Ball Z. The story takes place in a village of Konoha where the main character namely Naruto lives. He has within him the nine-tailed fox demon of incredible strength.

The Adventures Of Tintin

Yes, I can fully appreciate that including the Tintin animated series in a list about anime might be off a step too far for some. Still, if youre looking for series to rewatch, a lot of the Tintin series still hold up today.

Some of the books dont stack up that well the blackface elements in The Blue Lotus are a bit on the nose these days but Netflix still has the first season, which includes The Calculus Affair two-parter, the excellent Cigars of the Pharoah, and the three-part Secret of the Unicorn/Red Rackhams Treasure which formed most of the basis for the CGI Tintin movie.

Netflix doesnt have the excellent second season or third seasons unfortunately, so theres no Destination Moon/Explorers on the Moon saga or Tintin in Tibet. But season one does give you a look at Dr. Muller, one of Tintins recurring villains, and The Crab with the Golden Claws remains an all-time classic.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

First aired: 2007 | Episodes: 27Where to watch: Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll

No show better exemplifies the Japanese theme of fighting spirit better than Gainax’s exuberant, over-the-top mecha masterpiece Gurren Lagann. This is the same animation studio that made Evangelion in the ’90s, but the two couldn’t be more different in how they use giant robots. Gurren Lagann begins with humanity cowering in underground societies, scared of the surface above. It ends with giant robots in space throwing literal solar systems at one another.

Every step of the way it’s a story about the power of the human spirit, having the strength to never give up, and using that will plus a giant fucking drill to pierce the heavens. The rare show that can make your heart soar with excitement and make you cry within the same episode. Every time you think it can’t get more dramatic, more emotional, more over-the-top, it will exceed your expectations. The absolute pinnacle of unrestrained anime action.

Gantz: One Of The Most Gore Japanese Animated Series On Netflix

Gantz, which we owe to the famous mangaka Hiroya Okuest, is considered a true masterpiece by fans of the genre. However, the series is not unanimous because it is not intended for the general public. She is very violent and offers raw confrontations. Something to please those with a firm heart. Here Are The Most Anticipated Films In 2020

A high school student, Kei Kurono is drawn into a bloody and brutal adventure following his act of bravery for having saved a man who fell on the rails of a metro. Her cartoon adaptation is one of the hottest magazines available on Netflix.

Violet Evergarden Is Beautifully Animated And Written

The story follows Violet Evergarden, a Doll and former soldier, as she attempts to reintegrate back into society after a war and find her purpose in life.

Violet Evergarden features beautiful art and animation, a compelling story, and well-developed characters. The series avoids devolving into over-sentimentality and remains well-paced throughout. At its core, it’s about figuring out one’s purpose in life and how to relate to others, but the world-building and characterization work together to extract every ounce of meaning from the material.

Mobile Suit Gundam Uc

Think high investment, high reward if you get lost amid Mobile Suit Gundam UCs jargon and sprawling backstory. The space-opera franchise is 40 years old and running, so this one isnt easy for newcomers, but it pays off. The setup echoes previous entries: Teenage boy pilots a robot and encounters friends, enemies, and Jedi-like extrasensory powers in armed conflicts between Earth and its space colonies. Politics and power plays drive the show, but UC balances them with intimate scenes like this one, fluidly animated space battles, and even LSD-trip dream sequences. And the ultimate reveal of the shows MacGuffin, Laplaces Box, beats anything else youll catch on American TV.Watch it if you love:2001: A Space Odyssey the appendices of The Lord of the Rings

Ping Pong The Animation

First aired: 2014 | Episodes: 11Where to watch it: Funimation

Most sports anime are comfortable, trope-y hang-out shows with a fun cast of characters that are content to trundle along for a couple hundred episodes. Ping Pong the Animation, despite telling a conventional story about a pair of friends trying to become champion ping pong players, is nothing like that. And it probably looks like no anime you’ve ever seen. Director Masaaki Yuasa retained the art style of the manga, by acclaimed artist Taiy Matsumoto, characters rough and exaggerated, scenes cut up into panels just like a comic.

At first it may even come off as ugly, but stick with it to see the animation blossom in expressive, surreal ping pong matches that reflect the psychology of the characters as much as the real action of the sport. It has style to spare, but it’s ultimately the relationship of friends Smile and Peco that makes Ping Pong an all-timer.

The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K

Must Watch Action Anime on Netflix & Where to Watch Them ...

Given that its about a pink-haired teenage boy with psychic powers, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K gets a lot of mileage out of the purely mundane aspects of his life: going to school, or interacting with his parents, or even, uh, watching anime. Like any moody kid, all the eponymous Saiki wants is to be left alone and mind his own business, but the need to keep his secret from most of the people around him gets in his way. His deadpan delivery and ever-present internal monologue drive the show, and each episode delivers a new, deliciously meta comedy of errors.Watch it if you love:Sabrina the Teenage Witch the character Q in Star Trek: The Next Generation

The Boy And The Beast

This is an amazing anime about a kid named Ren who gets lost on his way home from school one day and ends up meeting Kumatetsu, a half human-half bear creature. This movie will leave you tearing up as they both have their own personal challenges yet manage to help each other with them making this sad film comforting at the same time.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Is Wild And Weird

Top 10 Netflix Anime Series You Need To Watch

An adaptation of the manga series by Hirohiko Araki, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure focuses on different members of the Joestar family across generations. Over the course of each season, fans are introduced to a new member of the family, each one called JoJo, as they uncover powers that help them fight against supernatural enemies.

JoJo’s is a long-running series that has earned rightful praise from both audiences and critics. The characters are well-developed, but the story does not hesitate to kill off fan-favorite characters. The anime contains a plethora of pop culture references and funny scenes that pair excellently with its over-the-top battles and liberal use of melodrama. The first three seasons are available on Netflix in English and the original Japanese versions.

Fullmetal Alchemist And Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Not quite as cerebral or surreal as other shows in this list, FMA is a tightly wound high-fantasy series that has garnered several generations of fans. A bit of explanation: Full Metal Alchemist takes a turn halfway through that changes the story vastly from the series source material, while Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a more strictly adhered-to adaptation of the original books. Most FMA acolytes think the latter is far superior, but both are excellent. Telling the story of Edward and Alphonse Elric, brothers who survived a traumatic magical accident now hoping to right their mistakes of the past the show explores themes of filial piety and the ramifications of global war.
