Iguro & Kanroji Are An Overpowered Hashira Couple

Season 1 of Demon Slayer introduces the Hashira in episode 22. Two of these Pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps who stuck out during their introduction were the Snake Hashira, Iguro, and the Love Hashira, Kanroji.

During their introduction, Kanroji never stops expressing her love while Iguro lurks in the distance, coiled up around a tree branch. Anime-only viewers weren’t given enough information on the Hashira to connect Kanroji and Iguro, but manga readers know that the pair form a powerful coupling crucial to the battle with Muzan Kibutsuji.

They Don’t Have To Eat Humans

Depending on the perspective, this is either sad or cruel. Its true that demons often find themselves overcome with a hunger that can only be sated by consuming humans. However, if they choose, thats actually something that most demons can gradually wean themselves away from.

After her initial transformation, the demon Tamayo came to her senses and began refusing to eat other humans. Over time, she completely recovered her normal senses and is now capable of surviving off small amounts of human blood. The one demon shes created, Yushiro, has never eaten humans because he was initially shown a path to avoid doing so. Because most demons are transformed and introduced to extreme hunger, they never learn to do anything else.

Demon Slayer Season 2 Spoilers

Note: The spoilers start with the assumption that the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba movie will open with events surrounding manga Chapter 67.

In their next mission, Tanjiru, Inosuke, and Zenitsu accompany the Demon Slayer Corps Pillar named Tengen Uzui. This jewel-wearing Shinobi is the Sound Pillar, which means he uses a combination of sounds, swords, and bombs to combat demons.

Tengen has three hot, ninja wives named Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru. The three wives suspected that demons were hiding in the red light district Yoshiwara, Kirimise, so they disguised themselves as oiran and infiltrated a brothel.

Tengens wives have disappeared while on their information-gathering mission. This story arc is a bit humorous since Tanjiro and his friends end up disguising themselves as women to sneak into the red light district!

The head oiran named Warabihime is a sadistic demon named Upper Moon Six Daki. Capable of manipulating her deadly sashes, she has already fought and killed seven of the Demon Slayer Corps Pillars. Daki is known for her cruelty, toying with her victims before dispatching them.

She is also known for viciously abusing the people of the brothel, and when a manager confronts her, the demon lifted the hostess high into the air and dropped the woman to her death.

When Daki returned to her room, she is surprised to find her master Kibutsuji Muzan waiting inside. The demon leader praised Daki as a special demon but also cautioned her against being careless.

Will Tanjiro Die In Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer: LiSA to Perform Theme Song at New Year

No. He wont. He will survive up until the end of the series. However, in a last attempt for survival, Muzan tried to turn him into a demon. Shortly after Muzan died from sunlight, Tanjiro was thought to be dead, without one of his arms.

Unfortunately, since Muzan knew that Tanjiro is the brother of Nezuko, the demon who conquered the sun, he knew that the demon slayer will also become a strong demon. His blood in Tanjiros body controlled him, telling him to destroy the demon slayers in his place. He became a super-strong demon resistant to the sun, with Muzan calling him the King of the Demons.

The survivors try to survive against him and in a sacrificial move, Kanao used her remaining eye to activate Scarlet Spider Lily Eyes. Her enhanced speed allowed her to inject the demon antidote and return him to being human.

In the end, some three months after the battle, Tanjiro wakes up surrounded by Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko. His left hand, which recovered during his demon phase, has atrophied. He no longer feels anything below the elbow. Also, his left eye can no longer see anything. As a survivor of the final fight, it brings us to the next question:

What Is The Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Movie About

Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Mugen Train is notable as an anime movie that is not a spin-off from the main narrative, but a continuation of the existing storyline. Be warned there are spoilers in this section.

Mugen Train picks up where season 1 left off, and opens on Tanjirou, Nezuko and their comrades Zenitsu and Inosuke embarking on a mission onboard the titular passenger train. Accompanied by Flame Hashira Kyojurou Rengoku, a fiery yet compassionate elite demon slayer, they investigate the demon that has caused over 40 people to mysteriously vanish from the Mugen Train.

The demon wreaking havoc on the Mugen Train turns out to be Enmu, a lower-ranked demon of the Twelve Kizuki who manipulates sleep and dreams. The demon slayers fall under his spell, and Enmu blackmails passengers into breaking into the slayers dreams and attempting to permanently sever their connections to the waking world.

Eventually, the slayers manage to break free, and Tanjirou begins a battle with Enmu, who as it turns out has fused his entire body with the Mugen Train itself. Though the slayers manage to defeat Enmu, a more senior demon from the Twelve Kizuki appears and mortally wounds Kyojurou in a titanic clash. The Flame Hashira encourages Tanjirou and his comrades before he dies.

Demon Slayer Is A Love Letter To Pop Culture

FIRST LOOK! All Demon Slayer Mythicals & Legendaries Showcase (Demon Slayer Anime Mania Update)

For many, part of the allure of Demon Slayer will be its familiarity: it bears the influence of a host of movies and anime from the last few decades.

The movies main villain, Enmu, whose superpower involves putting people to sleep and infiltrating their dreams, may remind movie fans of Christopher Nolans Inception.

Muzan, the most powerful demon and the only one capable of transforming other humans into demons, is reminiscent of many famous baddies with brainwashing powers, like Darth Vader and Magneto.

The franchise also has a video-game-like quality that creates a hierarchy of power. There are the low-ranked demon slayers who can swing a sword but have yet to level up to their true potential, but there are also godlike ones with exceptional strength and speed. Anime and manga fans may see parallels to the power structure in classics like Dragon Ball, whose characters were ranked by more than a dozen levels of super saiyans.

Tatsuhiko Katayama, an editor of the Demon Slayer manga, has said in interviews that the red-haired, scar-faced Tanjiro was inspired by Rurouni Kenshin, the 1990s manga about a similarly drawn swordsman trying to escape from his past life as an assassin.

The Fate Of Tanjiro’s Sword Leads Him To A Village Of Beautifully Talented Swordsmiths Hidden Behind Silly Masks

The members of the Demon Slayer Corps live and die by their swords. The strongest members are able to keep their swords intact regardless of the strength of their enemy, but others are forced to bond with a swordsmith until they master a breathing technique. Tanjiro struggled to communicate with his own swordsmith, Hotaru Haganezuka, while fluctuating between Water and Fire Breathing Styles, but by the end of the series, Hotaru is as much a part of defeating Muzan as Tanjiro is.

Not only is Hotaru responsible for forging Tanjiro’s final blade, he does so under the stress of battle and a threat to his own life. When the Demon Slayer Corps comes to Hotaru’s rescue, the smith commits to his masterpiece and forges the sword that will end the life of Muzan Kibutsuji.

Demon Slayer Season 2 Story: Do You Need To Watch Mugen Train

The Demon Slayer season 2 story will adapt the Entertainment District arc of the manga starting from December. In the source material that takes place after Mugen Train. In a surprise move, however, there’s going to be a seven-episode recap with new material to catch fans up on Mugen Train in case they missed it the first time round. So you either need to watch the movie or the seven-episode recap, beginning in October. Or both, for completion’s sake. Your call.

So, what can we expect from the story? Without diving too much into specific movie spoilers, the first season ended with Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke summoned to their first major assignment as part of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Rengoku, a member of the Hashira is tasked with accompanying the trio and with Tanjiros sister-turned-demon Nezuko in tow. The events of the movie surround Tanjiro and companys attempts to take down the Lower One of the Twelve Moons, the demonic group led by original demon and slayer of Tanjiros family Muzan Kibutsuji.

After the dramatic events of Mugen Train, and the end of the Infinity Train saga, Tanjiro, the Hashira, and the Demon Slayer Corps will have to deal with the fallout of the movie, but also the emergence of dangerous new foes.
