The Monokuma Files In The Anime Are Individual

Anything a killing happens, Monokuma makes an announcement and gives the students what he calls a “Monokuma File.” The file contains details of the death as well as space to add notes about evidence collected during the investigation phase.

In the game, there is only one Monokuma File seen and it appears to be shared by all students. In the anime though, they all get a Monokuma File for themselves in their e-handbook. The Monokuma File serves a big purpose in the game, as the player uses it to keep track of everything. In the anime, they only exist to be a good adaptation to the game.

Junko’s Different Appearance Is Noticed By Different Characters

The Junko that appears in the beginning of the story is not really Junko, but her sister Mukuro disguised as her. The game and anime both give the most subtle of hints that there is something off about Junko’s appearance. However, different characters notice between the game and anime.

In the game, the main protagonist Makoto notices there is something off about her appearance in comparison to her model photos. Of course, Mukuro easily throws Makoto off the clue by mentioning that modeling agencies can edit her appearance for magazines. In the anime, it is not Makoto that notices this, but Sakura.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc

The original title in the Danganronpa series is a kind of a murder mystery but unlike the fun, Saturday night murder mysteries we see in many TV Shows this murder mystery can actually turn into a massacre.

The game takes place in Hopes Peak Academy, a prestigious school that only accepts the Ultimate students. All of these students are brilliant, athletic, have a vast amount of knowledge, and really smart, basically every one of these students is a genius.

Our protagonist, Makoto Naegi, is picked as the Ultimate Lucky Student among the fifteen students. All gathered students are suddenly interrupted by a remote-controlled bear that calls himself, Monokuma.

Monokuma puts them all in his game where all of them are imprisoned for life and for them to leave one of the classmates has to murder another and not get caught.

If the other students identify the real culprit all of them live but the culprit dies and if they identify the wrong one all of them die but the culprit lives!

    Danganronpa V: The Phantom Pain

Two new Danganronpa projects have just been announced and I have no idea how I feel about either of them. For one, Danganronpa 3 is actually not a video game. Its an anime, subtitled The End of Hopes Peak, and will hypothetically bring the story of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havocs survivors to a close.

Based on the teaser image for the anime, it appears Makoto Naegi will be answering for his actions in Danganronpa 2, which I wont spoil because A) you should really play the best game of 2014 & B) we do not have enough bandwidth on the site for me to explain the story of Danganronpa. According to a Famitsu translation posted on NeoGAF, the show will satisfy fans of the series, tricks that can only be done in anime.

We also have a handful of new details regarding New Danganronpa V3, the next video game in this franchise. The same GAF translation notes that V3 will focus on bluffing as a player mechanic. The trials this time will rely on lying to take down your opponents arguments, GAF user GSR writes.

Every robot animal seen in the games to date will appear, including Monomi and series mascot Monokuma. New Danganronpa V3 will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in 2016, according to a previous announcement.

Is There A Danganronpa 2 Anime

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair is followed by the canon spin-off Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls released on September 25, 2014, and the anime Danganronpa 3: The End of Hopes Peak High School which ran from July 11, 2016 to September 29, 2016 and consisted of three parts that wrapped up the storyline.

    Appearances In Other Games

Monokuma appears in some for Spike Chunsoft’s role-playing game, Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars. Costumes of Monokuma and Monomi also appear in the Japanese PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of Terraria, which are published by Spike Chunsoft in that region. Another Spike game developed for the PlayStation Portable, Gachitora: The Roughneck Teacher in High School, allows a player to wear a Monokuma costume if a Danganronpa save file is present upon playing Gachitora. Downloadable outfits based on Monokuma and Monomi also appeared in the Super Sonico game, Motto! SoniComi. Characters from Danganronpa appear as downloadable content in Fushigi no Chronicle: Furikaerimasen Katsu Madewa. The roguelikerhythm game Crypt of the Necrodancer features remixed music from the Danganronpa series, as well as character skins of Makoto Naegi, Monokuma, Monomi, Hajime Hinata, , Chiaki Nanami, Ibuki Mioda and Sayaka Maizono. Costumes of Makoto, Kyoko, Junko, Monokuma, Hajime, Chiaki, Nagito and Mikan, as well as a pet of Monomi appear as part of a crossover with the NetEase survival mobile game Identity V.

Danganronpa Game Play And Anime Watch Orders

Danganronpa: The Animation Episode 4 (Eng Dub)

Now that we are familiar with some of the series and their introductory plots let us talk about how you should play or watch the games and the anime!

The playing order of the games is pretty easy. I think the games should be played in the order that they came out.

There is always an option of skipping game 1 and watching the anime instead-but if you are a gamer obviously you would find the game more interesting.

Danganronpa : The End Of Hopes Peak High School

In my opinion the juiciest of all in the Danganronpa Franchise, but then again I have a bias for anime so you probably decide on your own.

Danganronpa 3: The End of Hopes Peak High school is the original anime in the franchise, it is based on the games but the story is unique to the anime!

The anime serves as an end to the first two games in the franchise, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. The anime is divided into two arcs Future and Despair and the finale is called, The Hope Arc.

The Future Arc tells the story of Makoto and his friends and the Despair Arc is about Hajime Hinata. The Hope Arc ties both the stories and ends the era of Hopes Peak Academy.

The Games’ Reveals Are Much Slower

Like most anime that are based on video games, the pacing is quite different. Many fans agree that the anime shows its hand way too fast in terms of a show that is supposed to be a thriller/mystery. One example of this is when the class discovered that they are being broadcast on TV. In the game, the pacing and excitement is much slower. They find the TV, set it up, are confused, try to change the channel, and give the player a real sense of “what is going on?!”

In the anime though, Monokuma shows this reveal for them and explains it.

Several manga publications based on Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair have been conceived. A direct adaptation began serialization in Enterbrain‘s Famitsu Comic Clear magazine from December 10, 2012. The spin-off manga Dangan Island – Kokoro Tokonatsu Kokoronpaâª, ChÅ-KÅkÅ-KyÅ« no KÅun to KibÅ to ZetsubÅ, and Nanami Chiaki no Sayonara ZetsubÅ DaibÅken were published by Mag Garden from October 2013. Another spin-off, Nangoku Zetsubo Carnival!, was serialized in GA Bunko‘s magazine from April 2013. Other two include 4Koma Kings and Comic Anthology compilations by various artists. Dark Horse Comics has released the ChÅ-KÅkÅ-KyÅ« no KÅun to KibÅ to ZetsubÅ manga under the title Danganronpa 2: Ultimate Luck and Hope and Despair in North America on September 15, 2018. The manga was also published the first of three volumes of the Super Danganronpa 2: Sayonara Zetsubou Gakuen manga, known as Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair in North America, on March 25, 2020.

Monomi appears at the end of the final episode of the first game’s 2013 anime television adaptation Danganronpa: The Animation. An anime adaptation of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair was initially planned but the producers instead chose to make an original anime series titled Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak High School, which aired between July and September 2016. The series’ second part Despair Arc focuses on the characters of Goodbye Despair prior to the events of the first game.

The second game built on everything that made the first game outstanding, and fans took notice. In forums all around the web, many fans will state the two is a superior game with an obviously larger budget. The anime would most likely sell well just based on this fact alone, and would be easy to merchandise out even further.

A Danganronpa anime announcement would also bring in more attention for the next game.

Hifumi’s Death Is Preemptively Announced In The Game

Hifumi’s death in the game was a little strange. The moment it was discovered, Monokuma made the death announcement. However, Hifumi turns out to not yet be dead and manages to say a little more to his classmates before dying. So despite Monokuma’s announcement, Hifumi was actually unconscious when discovered.

In the anime, the death announcement waits until Hifumi is actually dead. He talks to his classmates, dies, and then the announcement plays.

The REAL Reason Why Danganronpa V3 Never Got An Anime

The trial ends with K1-B0 and the rest of the characters refusing to vote and destroying the school as the audience tunes out of Danganronpa, giving the characters the power to end the game once and for all. Toko Faints When Junko/mukuro Dies In The Anime

Toko, when she isn’t Genocide Jack, cannot stand the sight of blood. Seeing it makes her faint and switch personalities upon waking up.

The first death of the game is when Mukuro disguised as Junko gets killed. The killing is witnessed by all students and there is a lot of blood. However, in the game, Toko remains composed. In the anime, the sight of the blood makes her faint. Most fans believe the reason she doesn’t faint in the game is because she averted her gaze to keep in control.

In The Anime Kyoko’s Behavior Reads As Cold In The Second To Last Trial

This is one of the changes between the game and anime that a lot of fans noticed and disliked. In the second to last trial, Kyoko and Makoto are the main suspects to killing Mukuro. In the game, Kyoko tries to make the trial last as long as possible. As the class gets close to the truth, Monokuma cuts her off with a “times up” and all the evidence she put out that Makoto could be the culprit gets him a guilty verdict. In the game, she is feeling incredibly guilty from this.

In the anime though, Kyoko keeps pushing out evidence against Makoto even after Monokuma calls “times up.” It comes across as pretty cold and out of character.
